    Thank you Darrel, Darell, Darrell or Darryl for a great and informative video. FYI: I want to get your sprayer, as I love adjustable nozzles. However, you got a fantastic sprayer deal, as that sprayer now sells for $14.97 at Walmart. I did order the Mark-It Blue 8oz for $13.49 at Walmart also. I already have my Tenacity and I’ll be all set after I finish watching your great video and ready to spray as-soon-as I receive my order. 😊

    Another great video. This is what I’m looking for. I just over-seeded my tall fescue 12 days ago, but I didn’t put down a pre-emergent and I’m seeing a lot of grassy weeds. So I’m just making sure I understood you correctly. If I use tenacity as a pre-emergent…I just water it in about a quarter inch after I spray it? And it won’t hurt the new seeds germinating? Any advice you can give me would be greatly appreciated. I’m brand new at this..I just started working on my lawn last fall.

    • @LawnAmateur
      @LawnAmateur  7 месяцев назад

      Yes you can use tenacity as a pre emergent when you plant your grass seeds it helps fight off weeds while letting the grass seeds germinate. But once the seeds germinate and start to sprout you can't use tenacity anymore because it'll be harsh on the new seedlings. I hope this help thank for your support and good luck 👍🏾

      Hi Dawn you would have to look down into the grass roots. Bermuda grass has like a vine growing pattern. Along with narrower grass blades and grow short. Im pumped up for my very first full reno (nuking grass). i was also dealing with Poa Annua and Poa Trivialis invasion.
    downfall of full lawn reno is poa and other weeds tend to invade the lawn again.
    when i did a mini reno in fall, I ended up getting more Poa trivialis and quack grass in next Spring :/ I had to dig out and lay sod :(
    more work ugh.
    Tenacity is great with weeds.. although, for Poa Triv, im not sure how to fight it off after a reno. it's a tough one to manage.

    • @LawnAmateur
      @LawnAmateur  2 года назад +1

      Great question, I normally use a surfactant when I'm using it to just spray weeds so it can stick onto the weed plant alot better but this day I was using this spray as a pre and post emergent and when you're using it a pre emergent its better to not use a surfactant because you're coating the soil to create a barrier layer of protection. But when using as a post emergent only its best to use a surfactant for a more effective weed killer. Thank you for asking and supporting the channel its much appreciated

    Hey man, I am doing a lawn rehab in a few weeks and I am not sure if I should be applying Tenacity as a pre emergent or post emergent. My lawn is awful and filled with weeds, but technically spraying this stuff in spring is a pre emergent scenario, right? The only reason I ask is because I am not sure if I should use surfactant or not.

    • @LawnAmateur
      @LawnAmateur  3 года назад

      Most definitely use a surfactant if you're trying to kill the weeds. If I was you I would spray the weeds right now to get them to start dying out and then when you do the rehab in a few weeks spray everything again including the soil using it as a pre emergent. This would give you the best results. PS this stuff will turn the tips of the grass and weeds white or pinkish don't be scared this happens it'll recover. This happens to show that the weeds are dying. Hope this helps

    Hello. I’m new to lawn care and I’ve been learning a lot recently by watching your channel. Unfortunately I’m a little in the season I think to lay down a pre emergent. I believe my grass type is Tall Fescue.
    I’m already noticing some weeds germinating with the warmer weather. Should I spray an application of Tenacity over the entire lawn or spot treat? Is it still possible to put down weed and feed as well or would that be a waste of money?
    Also, I’m in a new development so the sod was put down in Oct or Nov of 2019. I haven’t done anything to it other than a milorganite app about 3 weeks ago. Thanks a lot for the content.

      You can use tenacity if you can get your hands on some because it won't harm the germinating grass or you can go to home depot, lowes and get scotts starter fertilizer with weed control. Its a light blue bag. It has the same ingredient as tenacity.
      And the last option is to wait until the grass fully germinate and you mowed the lawn about 3x then start to fight off weeds.

      Hey Fernando you may want to check into Tenacity on Bermuda grass. I believe it's one of the few types of grass that can be damaged by it.

    I am finding that because it takes about 3 weeks for the weeds to die off, that the weeds start spreading. I did one use then 3 weeks later I did another one. Now I have clover coming up all over the place along with some other weird ass weeds. My lawn has never looked so bad.

      I was using it as more of a pre emergent and when doing that you don't need a surfactant. Surfactant is more for post emergent coverage. I did spray a few weeds in the process. But I wanted more pre emergent coverage overall. Thanks for your support

    • @LawnAmateur
      @LawnAmateur  4 года назад +1

      No Zoysia is not on the tenacity label so Tenacity could possibly harm Zoysia lawns. I wouldn't try but if you do decide to try it make sure you try it on a small part of lawn off to the side. Hope this helped 👍

      How are you using the tenacity pre emergent or post emergent?
      As a post emergent Tenacity takes about a week to actually start seeing results you may see results in 72 hours on lesser weeds but crabgrass, nutsedge it'll take a week. Tenacity is systemic so it soaks into the plant and kills from the inside out down to the roots.
      Did you use a surfactant with tenacity?

  • @willgaither2478

    Meant to say Scotts Halts will not allow seed to germinate like Tenacity does.

    • @LawnAmateur
      @LawnAmateur  4 года назад

      I normally use surfactant but I wanted pre and post emergent coverage and you're not supposed to use surfactant when using it as a pre emergent. So I sacrificed the use of a surfactant this time around for that purpose.
