Skaght it was really nice talking with you on the 4 Collectors channel this evening. This video has a special place in my heart as I have been in the printing industry for 31 years and actually ran a much bigger version of your press in high school. Thanks for sharing.
Too bad we didn't get to talk more. Mike and Orlando kind of took over there. 😂 That's very cool that you're in the printing industry and ran one of these presses. Glad you got a kick out of this.
Holy Mackerel! Awesome! Satch + Wheaties = Perfection
I was amused you started talking about Wheaties while I was editing this. We're like in some sort of best friend mind hive! 😂
@@ReindeerStudios hey, if i had to be in a hive with someone, you’d be it! HahahaHahahha
I loved every movie of this! Fantastic! 👍
Thanks Brian. I'm really looking forward to exploring this deeper.
Very fun video. Nice looking card of Satchel Paige.
Thanks so much George.
An amazing printing Skaght!! Love your magic ideas! Love the video. Thank you for sharing this Vintage printing.
Have a an amazing day!!
Thank YOU for watching Alex. Glad you enjoyed it sir.
So cool to watch the process. Those prints look beautiful. I love art and baseball and when combined is the reason I love baseball cards so much. Cool blues guitar playing in the background doesn't hurt. Funniest line, "My print was better, just saying." Well done, my friend. This video made my evening. Thank you. 🤩
And your comment made my morning. Thanks T Sean. Glad this resonated with you. Cool blues guitar makes everything better.
Great video Skaght. I really enjoyed seeing how print is made. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Ed! I never know if a video like this is gonna fly, but a lot of people seemed to think this was as fascinating as I did. 😀
Love your video's and commentary! Whether cards or art, you never disappoint Skaght with your creativity
I try man! Thanks Andy.
Thanks for pulling back the curtain for us Skaght - I did some hand-screened prints back in my HS art club days, but i’ve never gotten to see how an old school letterpress works! So amazing.
All that being said, Steve Guttenberg stole the show.
I've done a lot of screen printing too, but never tried letterpress before this. It was a lot of fun. Long live Guttenberg!
I am truly old enough to have used one of those presses. I took print shop early in high school, circa 1979-80, and we had one of those exact presses. I may be the only person who watches this video who has also used that machine!
That's all kind of awesome Dan. You're not old, you're vintage.
One of the most entertaining RUclips vids ever made 🎉
High praise! Thanks Alex. I'm honestly surprised at how well received this video has been. I didn't think many people would be that interested.
Hi Scott. That was simply awesome.
Simply thank you, Stephen!
Very cool! Thanks for letting us in on the manufacturing process. These turned out great!
Thanks Sammy! Glad you enjoyed it.
The Satchel cards look great, and it was very entertaining to watch the process in action. Congrats on learning a new skill! =)
Learning new skillz is the best. Glad you got a kick out of it.
Outstanding! Thanks for showing us this process Scott. Damn cool.
I didn't think many people would care, but I was really surprised at how many people thought this was as neat as I do. Thanks Ed!
I’m don’t how I missed this. So cool! I love it. You make the best videos so can’t take you up on your final demand.
It's like you're not even trying to watch my videos anymore, Doug. ...err... I mean, it happens. No worries. Glad you found it. And I'm sure you can find a better video somewhere. 😂
Really enjoyed seeing how this whole process works! The prints look really nice!
Thank you Tony! It was a fun process. I'm looking forward to doing more.
This is really cool!! Appreciate you sharing
And I appreciate you watching. Thanks Bobbi!
I love history! Thank you for giving us a look see into this process. Very interesting. FYI - my shirts arrived! Excited.
Thanks Drew! Glad you enjoyed this one and I hope you love your shirts.
Such a cool process, that's totally appropriate and deserving of a culturally iconic person that transcends sports such as Satchel. Great job Skaught, thanks for sharing and good collecting👍👍💗💗
Thank you sir! Definitely looking forward to doing some more printing like this.
Really awesome Skaght and I enjoyed watching the process! So cool!
Thanks Jim! Glad you enjoyed it.
Awesome behind the scenes footage! So cool to see how you do it, thanks for sharing! Have a great day!
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks!
Love the whole process, these turned out super cool. I dig how they aren't all exactly the same. Thanks for sharing with us 😊
Not a PSA 10 in the batch. 😂 And that's what makes them cool. Thanks Styxxxxxie!
What a great video Skaht. Love seeing the behind the scenes shots of your artistry at work!
Thanks Sammy. Glad people enjoy going on my little journey with me.
I was thinking about the Leaf set the entire time with this video!
The bad printing made it more "Leaf", but yeah. Leaf is still cool, so I was happy.
Outstanding video and workmanship. Bravo!
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it.
Wow, that's stuff! So cool seeing the process of the letterpress. Cheers!
Thanks Paul! We had a blast making these prints.
love it man!!!!!!!!!! very vintage like vibes.
That's what I was going for. Thanks Mikey!
wow awesome video!! I really enjoyed watching the process.
Aww thanks! Glad you enjoyed it.
Wow them cards turned out amazing!!! This was really cool watching the process. Great job!
Yeah, it was neat learning a new skill. Glad you dig it.
Cool vid. Amazing job with this artwork 👍👍. Nice to see how things are manufactured as well. Thanks for sharing. Be well. 🤙
Thanks again! I really enjoy learning new skills.
Wow, that turned out crazy good!!! Your creativity knows no limits my friend!!!👊🏻❤️💯
As always, you're too kind Brandon. Thanks dude!
These are so cool, Skaght! Seeing that olde time process was awesome!
Thanks Joe! Glad you enjoyed it. I had a lot of fun learning how to print these.
This is really cool!!! I love seeing the process you go through for all of your amazing artwork.
Thanks John! I'm glad people dig what I'm throwing out there in the world.
Wow! You have multimedia skills! Great job!
Thanks Rick! Love learning new skills. I'm an old dog with new tricks.
Excellent! Turned out really nice.
Thanks Scott! Definitely had fun.
So cool. I’ve only done small wood block printing, usually one color. The best I can say is they looked “artsy”. These are art and you could definitely sell as is. “Art!”
Aww, thanks! Looking forward to doing more of these soon.
You forgot the “and here’s how you trade your money for one of these sicko art pieces” part!!!! Lady Reindeer crushed it! The Rollers, The Zygote! She has gotchu, dude.
Ha! These aren't good enough to sell (or trade money for), but I appreciate that. Lady Reindeer is the best. She knows exactly how to push me, getting the best out of me without being a nag.
@@ReindeerStudios but I pay money for cards with holes in them!
Absolutely fascinating, Skaght! You kinda took us back in time sorta. A hybrid so to speak of old and new printing technology. That was fun to watch. Yet another skill to add to your talented personal toolbox. Well done.
Thanks dude! Glad you enjoyed my little time machine. I absolutely love learning new skills.
Skaught those are super cool!!! Great idea also! I’m so impressed with the details on satchel, wow.
Thanks Theo. Maybe I'll have to do a Wheaties Clemente someday.
@@ReindeerStudios I’d love one of those 😍
Analog is alive! Love seeing your new toy and how it works, Skaght! And, it’s fun for the whole family I see. They came out looking so good!
Thanks Hugo! I was amused that you called it my "new" toy, as it's probably been collecting dust for seven years. I've lost track. But yeah, so much fun to learn. I guess the new toy is the new skill.
@@ReindeerStudiosI don’t know why I said new. I guess I was thinking about the Zygote Press workshop you got for Christmas so I pictured you dusting off the press and rollers for a first print. Sort of new I guess 😄
Awesome print
Thanks so much 😊
soo cool! was in awe the entire video! i think they turned out great!
Thanks Scoot! Glad you got a kick out of it.
You are truly amazing and so very talented Skaght! Stay safe my friend!
Aww, shucks! Thanks Kyle. Hope you're well, buddy.
Those are really cool! Fun to see the process, Skaght
Thanks Brian. Glad you enjoyed it.
Makes you wonder how they didn't have way more issues on some of those press prints. Pretty darn cool buddy! They look AWESOME!
Because I'm a lowly newb and seasoned pressmen can do a much better job. 😜 Thanks dude!
This was awesome! Makes me want to get a laser cutter!
Everybody needs a laser cutter. They're so much fun.
Very cool Skaght
Thanks Peter! Much appreciated.
Man- loved this video.
I mean I love all your videos.
I mean I love you.
I mean what I’m trying to say is this one was unique and special.
…..but so are you.
Aaaah you know what I mean! 🤪
😂😂😂 I think I know what you mean. Love you too, buddy.
Skaught, the whole process was fascinating! WOW! I think it turned out perfect! Or perfectly imperfect ... which is perfect! 😊👊
I one-line comment from Adam? Are you feeling okay? I mean, usually you write a book for me to read and then I try to match the effort in my response. Are you taking it easy on me? Are you stuck on the floor of your closet and can't get out and this is your cry for help? Were you commenting with your phone and the battery died? Whatever it is, I hope you're okay.
@@ReindeerStudios 😂 Brevity school! 😂 P.S. I'm pretty sure I'll fail! 😂
Who knew that my best friend was so talented? But then, I never knew it was the Steve Gutenberg bible. LOL Great job Skaght.
We're best friends because you appreciate some good Gutenberg humor. Thanks Mike!
That's awesome! It's so cool to see the process come together. Thanks for sharing and I hope things are going well with you.
It was neat learning this stuff. Thanks Scott!
This was so fascinating to watch, Scott - loved it! You mentioned the wood block printing in your video and it reminded me of a little shop in Marietta, Ohio - Just A Jar Design Press. The owner, Bobby Rosenstock does some incredible prints with wood blocks. I really think you would enjoy it. He’s got such a historic setup in such a historic town. He has a website and probably YT videos. Very cool town to visit if you’ve never been there before. Thanks for taking us on your new journey - I’m rooting for you! Go Tribe!
Small world! I know Bobby. We ran into each other all the time when I was doing indie craft shows, back when I was screen printing t-shirts. Really nice guy. I think he was the first guy I saw use a wood block on a printing press.
Wow! That’s really cool! Lol I do remember working with a similar press.
Nice! 😂
this was really cool . the wife said it's about time too , lol
She absolutely did. 😀 She knows just how to push me. Thanks Adam.
Awesome dude
Thank you sir.
Skaggs(your autocorrect name)
It will be hard to find a better video to watch than this one
Seriously
From Johannes Gutenberg the great inventor to Leroy Robert "Satchel" Paige the great pitcher and my fellow Alabamian
This video was right up my alley.
It’s great to see works of art and even greater to see them in action. Thanks for sharing the process of a beautiful print 👍
Keep up the good work Mr. and Mrs. Reindeer 👌🏻
*changes all of his business cards to read Skaggs...
Aww, thanks, man! So glad this resonated with you Barry. I've got some "seasoning" to do still, but we had a ton of fun learning this process.
Wow this is old school, great image!
You should have a membership "join" option on your channel 🙂
Thanks Dave. I don't have the watch hours for that, but I appreciate it. I get a lot of support through t-shirt and commissions.
So good. I love mechanical processes. Keep it up! You’ll be making counterfeit cards and a ton of money in no time
Shhh! You're not supposed to tell people how I'm coping with not buying cards. 😜
She sure knows how to give those subtle hints! Great job! I have been printing over 25 years and think you didn't have enough swearing while running!
Noted. Swear more and my prints will be better, right? 😂 Thanks for the tip!
@@ReindeerStudios That is how it works around here!
Absolutely loved the look behind the scenes. Would love to see similar types of videos in the future, should you have the opportunity.
Thanks Kin! Glad you enjoyed it. It does feel good to start getting back to what I intended this channel to be.
I thought that was neat. Very nice
Thanks Diego! Glad you got a kick out of it. I definitely had fun learning how to print like this.
A great mix of something old (printing press) and something new (laser printer)
Life is better with lasers! Thanks Justin.
Very cool Skaght. My father and his were both printers. I learned it my self with offset machines as far as doing it as a full time job it was very tedious. But I still find it cool that it is still around.
I can definitely see how that would be exhausting.
Hi Skaght! I was in printing for 28 years. Pretty cool to see you putting ink on paper. I know Jason at Poorman's Stack is still in the trade. I love your approach here. I look forward to seeing where this takes you. Awesome stuff!
Yeah, I remember you were in the industry. In fact, a lot of sports card youtubers seem to have been involved in printing at some point. Glad you enjoyed it. And doubly glad you didn't make fun of my newb printing skills. 😂
Very cool! My wife and her family are printers! They have a small printing business and my sister in law has a printing business down in Texas! I have no knowledge oof how it works but have seen shelves and shelves of type and printer type stuff😁 this was very cool sir!! Good luck on the new machine/product!!!
That's awesome Jason. Your wife sounds pretty cool.
@@ReindeerStudios The coolest!😁
Absolutely incredible as always! Love seeing the process and history and I love love love that final product. If ever you want to sell one you know who to email 👊🏻⚾️
Thanks David! Glad you like it so much. Not really good enough to sell, but I'm hoping to make better ones eventually.
Hey man! I hope all is well. These look amazing!!! Take care
Thanks Mike! I'm doing very well. Hope you are too, sir.
Awesomeness me prints
Glad you like them!
This was amazing to watch !!! Lauren was impressed and new about the process. Where can we get one of those ? On your etsy shop ?
Nah, these aren't good enough to sell. 😜 I'll make better ones with a little bit of practice. Appreciate that you dig them, though.
Yay, old timey analog Skaght. The imperfections kinda add to it. So what are you gonna do with this batch of Satch? (See what I did there?)
Sometimes it's nice to step away from the computer and get your hands dirty. Not sure what I'm doing with these. I do appreciate the imperfections too, but they're not really good enough to sell.
Exciting stuff! 🔥 Just uploaded a fresh video myself 😁 Giving your video a big thumbs up! 👍 Let's keep the support flowing! 💪
Skaght’s magic behind the scenes is pretty neat. Cool oversized Satchel cards. Are these on Etsy?
Thanks Ken. Glad you dig it. These aren't good enough to sell. Still learning the ropes. 😉
Cool work Skaght! So we can expect Satch on next years Christmas cards too???
Nah, I haven't decided on next years Christmas cards yet. Maybe Mossi Claus might make a comeback.
Overall all how pleased were you with your blocks that you 3D printed? Was the image from a drawing of yours and then imported into the 3d printer? So intrigued by this. Thanks for sharing!
Side note, that Steve Gutenberg never ceases to amaze me!
Glad you were intrigued. I was fairly pleased. The tough part is getting the block to "type height" whichi is .9186 inches. So random. I don't know if I was off enough to make the second color not come out great, but the guy running the workshop didn't think so. The image was a photograph, heavily manipulated in Photoshop, imported to the laser. Long live Guttenberg!
looks like lots of work but fun work
You hit the nail on the head, Jon!
You should start printing newspapers now, and become a millionaire, that’s the quickest way to make the big bucks nowadays
Good idea! I'm gonna be the next William Randolph Hearst!
Hello best friend
Hey Cuz!
Scott! How can I get a Satch????
These ones weren't good enough to sell, but someday soon, I'll give it another go. Thanks Warren!
@@ReindeerStudios of course!
And I can order one of these how?
These weren't good enough to sell, but I appreciate the interest. 😉
Not bad for a schmo. I’m off now to find a better video
Shouldn't be too hard to find one.
