So glad to see that this was straight forward with no hiccups. Andrea has the guts, fearlessness, strategic thinking and determination of a navy seal. Two seconds before it started, I thought the Pink Panther theme would be perfect here! Well done, Dean!
This video helped calm me down from an autistic panic attack. I've been a fan for quite a while, and I hope you don't mind, but I gave you both a shout-out on one of my videos a couple of weeks ago. Much love. -Mack
@@MidwestMagicCleaning I'm pretty sure I found your videos as a recommended video from Dean and Andrea. I don't know if I'm subscribed yet, but I'll do it right now if I'm not. We're one step closer to that golden button! 😃👍
I don’t normally comment but I just wanted to post a PSA. I had these steps before and if you don’t wear shoes in the house and you wear socks. They are very slippery and my dad and husband both had serious falls. These are not cheap and we had to rip them out and install carpet. I know she said they haven’t had problems but I would think twice and consider who’s living in your house and if you wear socks. I would not recommend these stairs to any of my friends or family. No hate just genuinely concerned and it was really scary when my family fell.
There are different clear, anti-slip textured stick-on vinyl pieces you can put on your stairs. Kinda of like what they have for bath tubs and showers so people don’t slip.
I have stairs just like this. LVP on top, and I wiped out down them twice within the first few months before adjusting to them. You are absolutely correct they’re slippery and the bottom stair blends in so well with the floor, that’s how I fell the first time and snapped my ankle really badly.
I’m enjoying your projects. A gentle reminder: You really should would wear a mask (removing carpet & sawing) and ear protection when sawing. I know that it’s annoying-especially when it is so hot-but you both owe it to yourselves and your kids.
We love the Lowe’s trip song. I think of it every time I go to Lowe’s. The Lowe’s song always puts a smile on my face. Plus random comments like, “flip flops are the Texas work boots. ..😂🤣😂🤣
I JUST sang that jingle as I realized that I need to head over there to get some replacement air filters!😂 It’s soooo CATCHY!😂MY lyrics would be: 🎶A Lowe’s trip! A Lowe’s trip! Every now and then it’s a Lowe’s trip!🎵😂
Oh my goodness I’ve been there and totally feel your pain!! I spent 2 days, 8-10 hours each, pulling nails and staples from my 100+ year old wood floors after pulling up the absolutely disgusting carpet! 😣 You have such a rewarding result there!! It’s sooo nice! I used your code a couple of months ago and now have 4 boxes of samples from Flooret! You are not joking about how incredible their product is!! It’s so pretty, great colors with a perfectly right sheen! Thank you so much for sharing your experience with them!!
You 2 are such a great couple, you work well together, you compliment each other’s strengths and what you achieve in your home is stunning. Love the bloopers, Andrea’s face at the end just says, used all words, used all brain function, Im exhausted need food need shower need bed.
I discovered your videos last week. I have watched you literally non-stop since then. You Two are very addictive. I love all your furniture re-do’s. I also watched all of your Road Trip videos…(I guess it was actually just 1 long one). I envy all of your energy. My daughter loves hiking and travels a lot, so I wrote down every one of the waterfalls and airbnb’s (or at least the cities they were near.). Thank you for letting us travel with you. As a couple, I just love watching your easy banter with each other. Sometimes, as I am watching you unload the van or carry a piece of furniture…and Dean is doing cartwheels, I want to say, “Quit goofing off and help your wife!”. But I realize that this is part of the fun of watching the two of you together. It is the reason why your show works. Don’t ever stop having fun together! That is a big part of making a good marriage work. My Sweet Charlie passed away 3 years ago and there never was a day of our marriage that he didn’t make me laugh. Keep up the re-finishing and I will keep on watching and telling other people about DIY WIFE. ❤ 😊
Having just moved into our new home, our stairs are the same as yours, this is letting me know that my steps at the foyer will look beautiful after our DIY renovation. Thankyou
I loved the bathroom remodel. You are so talented. I have also enjoyed the re-model of your friends’ house….every room was better than the room before. They are very blessed to have good friends like you. Keep up the good work! Diane/Tampa, Florida
I love the way that they turned out! We are needing to refinish our stairs in our house and those treads are beautiful! And Andrea, I feel the pain, you guys helped me get through my workout today! 😅
So glad you did this project because I’ve wanted to do this to our steps and questioned how to go about it…our home was built in 1831 so the hand rail may be a little tricky to cut around or remove for step overlays…but it all will go smooth hopefully!! 🙏🇺🇸💕😊👍🐾
That looks so good!! Great idea and way fresher look, so so beautiful! You two are a fun team and your children doing good work where they spent their time while the stairs came about, see you on the next one 🙂
You're killing me Dean with the Pink Panther theme😂 As usual, you both are so, so good! Andrea with her carpenter skills and Dean with his videotography/editing. You both are just so much fun to watch.❤ Andrea....I get a kick out of your on camera voice and your voice over voice. 😊
A trick I learned that might help you with measuring in areas like the upper steps. Instead of bending the tape measure and guessing what it is, the metal casing is 3 inches so run it up to the wall and read what it says then add 3 inches. I believe every tape measure has the inches marked on it but mine is 3 inches.
I’m currently working on my stairs and omg the staples.. I did not have help and there were so so many. I kept having to stop while sanding bc I kept finding one or two I missed. Gloves are a must. Can’t wait to see what railings you’ve picked out. I love the modern wrought iron ones that are thin and have ball details but I don’t have an open staircase. Mine will just be a handrail along the wall.. if I could weld though.. oh boy! 😍 If I wasn’t working on three projects at once it would be time to learn. 😂
Like always Andrea, anything you do ends up to be perfect and always looks really nice ! 👍🤗💪Deans comments are always so funny !😄😀 Thank you for giving us here such a good time with your videos 👍🙏🏻❤
I just found your channel today and have really enjoyed it. I hate seeing you lift that saw. Can you put it on a rolling cart and just lift and have to carry to the next spot. Or have sides come out from the rolling cart that could work as a table? Do a makeover for the saw and let us watch how you make life a little easier for yourselves. Thanks for all the videos.
When we moved into our current home our son was glad the stairs were carpeted. He said wood would be a slip hazard for me. Later that week I slipped on the carpet and fell down the stairs. So much for carpeting being safer.
Yay!! Another video, and 30 minutes! I get so excited when these pop up. "Fixed the newel post!" 😂 Next reno project...the garage? 😁 You need a fresh space to house all of your project supplies, and hopefully free of opossum 😉 Love you all, from OH 😊 Oh, and that Lowe's song....can't get enough! I've even begun singing it whenever we go to Lowe's 😆
Wow. You do have alot going on at your house! I love how you're doing your staircase!! I imagine you've learned alot of 'tricks' to make repetitive cutting easier! I enjoy watching what you do! (Love the Pink Panther music!! 😂) Very nice stairs!! 💕
When I'm removing excessive staples, I pass a metal paint scraper over them back and forth a few times. That pops many of them out and breaks off others. I only use pliers to remove the stubborn ones.
So glad to see that this was straight forward with no hiccups. Andrea has the guts, fearlessness, strategic thinking and determination of a navy seal. Two seconds before it started, I thought the Pink Panther theme would be perfect here! Well done, Dean!
I was waiting for "it's okay honey, take one step at a time"
Ha! Big missed opportunity there, should've had you on the writing team for this one... :P -Dean

Hey we just saw that, thanks much! Also I’m so glad the video helped bring some relief!
Hi Mack ! Because of your shout out i am subscribbed to this channel . So thank you ❤ and i hope your autistic panic attacks will be less

You are so right. It only takes one person to fall and change their life and yours forever. Slippery wood steps with children is too risky.
There are different clear, anti-slip textured stick-on vinyl pieces you can put on your stairs. Kinda of like what they have for bath tubs and showers so people don’t slip.
Beautiful!
Hi, do you have an opinion on the same stairs if you plan to add a runner? Also, thank you for the information
I have stairs just like this. LVP on top, and I wiped out down them twice within the first few months before adjusting to them.
You are absolutely correct they’re slippery and the bottom stair blends in so well with the floor, that’s how I fell the first time and snapped my ankle really badly.
Love everything you guys do! The children having their own project is fantastic and you two are adorable… such a nice couple!
Beautiful work as usual you’re very gifted young lady
So glad you are back! I missed you guys
I’m enjoying your projects.
A gentle reminder: You really should would wear a mask (removing carpet & sawing) and ear protection when sawing. I know that it’s annoying-especially when it is so hot-but you both owe it to yourselves and your kids.
Princess doesn't like being told she's doing something wrong

A real video !!! Thank you, I needed this !
Beautiful!❤ I’ve really missed ya’ll. I’m glad the children are having a good time.
i found myself singing the Lowe’s song 👁️👄👁️ ~ *every single day it’s a Lowe’s trip* ~
😂 same. Just right at the moment
I JUST sang that jingle as I realized that I need to head over there to get some replacement air filters!😂 It’s soooo CATCHY!😂MY lyrics would be:

Andrea as usual you are amazing? Stairs look fabulous!! Have a great week.
Perfect ending to a great day ❤❤❤❤

I would love your ideas about doing projects, and staying caught up on day to day chores...
The stairs are absolutely gorgeous!!! You are amazing Andrea!!!🥰
The stairs came out really good and I loved the pink panther music.

Talent galore. Video & editing, use of tools, design creativity! Nice nice job.
You two make a great team!
So satisfying to clean up that well used location in your home! Congrats!!
Great job Andrea. What a beautiful transition. Good on you both.
I loved the use of Henri Mancini's The Pink Panther. Wish you used more of it!
You are wonderful video makers. No boring explanations just clear instructions with the demonstration. You are gifted and such a great team.
OH Wow - just wow. What a transformation! Hurray back. Can't wait to see part 2!!!! Love you guys!
GREAT JOB love your videos
I loved the bathroom remodel. You are so talented. I have also enjoyed the re-model of your friends’ house….every room was better than the room before. They are very blessed to have good friends like you. Keep up the good work! Diane/Tampa, Florida
Beautiful!! Now you just have to trim the sides where the riser meets the original stairs and do the railing. Can't wait to see it finished!
Fantastic video!
Loved that she used my go to method to remove the bottom post, if not logic then force. Sometimes it is the best way.❤
You guys are truly amazing, Andrea, becareful to ensure your back doesn't become hunched in old age! ❤
Nice job looks really good
Another beautiful job so talented and gifted and creating a warm and beautiful space❤❤❤❤❤😊
Such a great vid! This is what I’m tackling next- nice to see Dean has finally calmed down a bit. 😅
Looks great. I just got new railings installed...makes a tremendous difference. Can't wait to see what you chose.
You are such a hard and determined DIYer…..
This make over deserves a highest clap! Great job! ✨💯
That looks awesome!
Dean I mentioned this a while back, and you told me not to give Andrea any ideas. Yippee! It was just time. Blessings on you both.
Ha! Well, you and Andrea had your way in the end! (It's a great project!) -Dean
