I should point out that Homestuck originally had a lot of its story influenced by user submissions which stopped partway through Act 4, they did open it up again briefly to name the Trolls in Act 5 Act 1 but after that Andrew had full control over the story.
Funnily enough, they’re actually *not* at home for most of the story since Earth is destroyed and they have to leave for their journey when they enter the game. Each main character being stuck in their respective homes is something that happens but they don’t stay there.
I miss homestuck man... Also I'm impressed! Usually, people that guess the characters are so far from the truth, but Karkat and sollux were spot on damn! So was kanaya with the vampire guess It's crazy that the only canonical troll that is trans is a jade troll, the same blood color as the character he assumed was trans ._.
So... some of these characters do have canon voices thanks to the soundtrack, and its heavily implied Nepeta does in fact have a higher pitched voice due to the meowing in one of her songs.
They are stuck at home for most of the comic. SBURB brings their houses into the game and most of the characters are confined to their houses in SBURB. There's almost always someone stuck in their home besides the trolls and the later Act Acts of Act 6

In defense of Jade. Her grandfather’s preferred form of funeral is taxidermy, so it’s just how she was raised and not anything outright creepy.
