New initiative aims to combat organized retail crime in Chinatown-International District

  • The city of Seattle is looking for ways to put a dent on organized retail crime.
    On Thursday, city council members heard an update of a plan in the Chinatown International District that aims to put a stop to the crime and the resale of stolen items that has plagued the street corners here.
    For years, KOMO News has reported on crime in the CID. The vandalism, shootings, drug use, and the black market which the city has been in a constant battle with.
