- More than a dozen suspects are facing charges in connection with a retail theft ring in Miami-Dade that has caused more than $20 million in losses this year alone, authorities said.
The 14 suspects who targeted at least 20 different retailers are facing charges following "Operation On the Fence," Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody said at a news conference Monday.

And, I'm not stupid, I am quite aware that proportionately and per capita, black people are responsible for more of every crime outside of white collar crimes. I'm also aware that black people make up a greater majority of incarceration in both the male and female categories. In fact, more than all other races combined. I am aware that systemically, black people are criminally driven more times than not. However, my point was that there were plenty of white faces in this particular bust.

It is so encouraging to see diversity now being brought into crime. Previously the perps would have all been one group, but they have now included more diverse races in the organization. We can only hope that they will have the opportunity to move up into management positions and the females will not encounter the dreaded glass ceiling.

When you scan the barcode you can tell what store it came from. I learned that from returning baby clothes.

The only thing some places do is have actual police officers by the company/retail stores so if anything happens the police can engage and stop them by hand. That's the only solution for us.

I am a staunch supporter of law enforcement, but I don't like when agencies take curtain calls during press conferences they pack themselves into. Of course the work they do is important and very much appreciated, but so is the work of doctors, teachers, waste collectors, etc., and they don't go on tv to pat themselves on the back. Just my unsolicited opinion!

If you watch the sheriff who is in charge of the many sex trafficking cases in the Central Florida area, his press conferences detail the people they apprehend, and the wrap sheets these people have are extensive. The governor can't control what judges do after the fact. DeSantis has actually tried to remove prosecutors from office in FL. who failed to do their job. I know an attorney who tells me it's a revolving door in West Palm Beach Fl, where car thieves are often back out on the streets shortly after being caught.
