    You’ve just combined my old obsession with planning and my new obsession with tarot in one package and I just love you for it. I don’t know why it didn’t even cross my mind to do this; I just stored my readings in notes app on my phone... I feel like using planners would instead force me to look over every single deck, and every single card and connect with all of it. Very grounding, thank you!

    Right now I keep a tarot journal, combined with a daily calendar and any thought I’d like to write down during the day. It kind of reminds me of the “junk drawer” everyone has at home. 😄😄 it’s a mess of all kinds of stuff! 💜

      This is exactly what I've been doing since December and it's working really well for me. I also love how you can insert any type of paper in it and do different types of journaling (mixed media art journaling, junk journaling, gluebooking, sketching, painting, etc.) in the same journal. :)

    Love seeing your journals! A couple years ago I found a great deal at Costco on Spice Box Books journals. 3 journals for $14.99. They are hard bound with an elastic closure thingy, page ribbon and 200 lined pages. I use them for my daily tarot recordings and tarot journaling. I think they are a great price for a journal. I just picked up some recently, so maybe they are available in most stores. I also buy big packs of pens at Costco...it seems I go through them so fast. Thanks so much for doing this fun and informative series!

    I love that you are doing this series. I use disc bound for a planner. The dust is cool but I may not want to use it. I like the more traditional journal idea. I did find one I want to use. It might get fat lol but im ok with it.
    One thing people could also use is an old book coverted into a journal. Tear out pages to make room and its upcycling something that might go into the trash bin instead.
    Loved watching. Looking forward to the next videos.

    I decided to do both -the things that I want to remember right away I chose the option convenient at the time and transfer later - but for purposes like you mentioned going back and / or seeing over pattern and picture I chose to do digital since I build templates anyways it only makes sense (in notion) but I could NEVER part with my paper journal I have always been so obsessed with journals (paper) etc. I use to write long entries so many pages when I was young I have so many old keepsakes but I fell off and it become less consistent but then found bullot journal from you ladies here on youtube and it is so much more easy to stay consistent with it but its important to know my third eye is awakening and I'm plugged in and connected so I want to stay consistent I'm at a diff place now in my life I'm healing - I think that made a diff in consistency. ALSO I also DO THAT lol I have a journal for my challenges for learning about astro, tarot, and phyic stuff and then another for regular journal and then another for dream journalling as this is so important manifestation and so on I'm sure you. know lol ahah and I also have another dedicated just for quotes and more scrapbook notes and even more lollll basically I agree so heavy I love that I am not the only one like this....

    Very good information.
    I’m very new to Tarot and some of the suggestions I keep hearing everywhere is to journal.
    I’m not a writer, I’ve never kept a journal, I rarely read books, I’m more of a video and auditory learner, but I’ve actually been journaling on my daily card pulls over the past few days and it’s really nice to just jot down words and small phrases to describe what I’m seeing in the cards I pull.
    This video was very helpful to give me insight on different types of journals to keep (or not keep) and how I can go about it.
    Thanks so much 👊🏼

    • @DawnMichelleTarot
      @DawnMichelleTarot  2 года назад +1

      A Book of Shadows is often a place where people record their magical workings. A Tarot Journal is generally used just for recording tarot readings. You can certainly record readings in a Book of Shadows too... but one tends to be more focused on general magical work and the other focused specifically on tarot.

  • @cuppy3874

    I know I should pick one because it would be easier to keep track of but i kinda want to combine digital and hand written journals. I'm such a perfectionist i would do better drafting and planning how i will write my reading interpretation instead of going in and not liking the outcome because of some bad organization in the design. Also keeping those sketches digitally could be useful to hold on to if you'd like to look back at a reading on your phone. I find myself forgetting what my readings say and looking back at it on the go may be helpful for me

    • @DawnMichelleTarot
      @DawnMichelleTarot  3 года назад +1

      Haha that's true and so sad in my opinion. We always had to write in cursive in school (guess that's showing my age!) I find it much faster than printing. 🙂 Thank you for watching! ❤️

      @Skitdora2010 in the UK cursive writing is still taught. I have taught this in my classroom for many years in the UK and have to model this writing every time I write by hand on the board or when I am marking books. We start teaching in Primary school (elementary school). For us we use the traditional grammar school cursive technique using a program called ‘Nelson Handwriting’. If you Google the name lots of resources come up. It’s never too late to learn! And doesn’t matter what resources you use it’s the learning that matters ☺️

      I think they still teach it in school just not as much. I learned cursive in 4th grade. Basically I know how to write my name in cursive but would find it tricky to write sentences and paragraphs in cursive. I think it's just not prioritized as much.

    I know this is pretty old, so you may not see comments, but I keep hoping to find out where you get the pics of the cards? I love all the great info on the journals, but I would like to create ones like you make, and that part is missing for me. Thanks for any help you can give!! Love your vids! 😊

      I have a canon pixma (3 in 1 printer) that I use when I print things for my journal. Generally if I'm incorporating card images, I lay the card on the scanner bed and just make a color copy at a reduced size (generally 50%). I hope that helps!

    Do you print out all the clip art every day or do you print out a bunch of stuff and then find a place for it as you go? Your journals are so inspiring🌟

    • @DawnMichelleTarot
      @DawnMichelleTarot  2 года назад +3

      The only thing I really print is the copies of my cards. The rest of the stuff is generally stickers or my own doodles. I generally make the copies of my cards when I do my reading.
      I hope that helps! 🙂 Thank you for watching. ❤️

    Hi Dawn Michelle! Thank you for making this video! May I ask what the deck is that you show really shortly from 0:21 - 0:30 at the very beginning of the video? With the black backing and six point star? The simple illustrated art is so beautiful on it.
    Edit: oh! I found the video of yours where you trim it. Thank you! (But out of stock 😭)

    What is “path working”? please?

    • @DawnMichelleTarot
      @DawnMichelleTarot  2 года назад

      There are different ideas of what it means to pathwork based on different traditions... but for me in relation to tarot, it is the process of visualizing myself stepping into the cards and exploring the word. I hope that helps!

      I put a color copy or print out in my journal. The only time I've ever put actual cards in was for my Nicoletta journal, I bought the mini version to include in my journal, but I read with the regular size version. 🙂 Thank you for watching! ❤️
