Some classic airsoft enthusiasts show the advantages of a Youth Engineering MP5 by playing in the pool.
It's not my original footage, but I made the compilation. It's not my gun either, but if you're looking to buy a Youth Engineering or the modern equivalent Escort replica, check out the www.classicairsoft.com forums.
The YE MP5 is made of aluminum and plastic with brass internals. It can't rust, so this demonstration is harmless to the replica.
THATS WHAT I WANTED TO SEE!! Ive been looking at airsoft underwater videos but i wanted someone to pop up from the water like a navy seal or something. THUMBS UP THIS VIDEO!
That's the cool thing about classic guns. Before the AEG came around, these guns were usually powered by compressed air (CO2 or air from a bike pump) or green gas. as such, they expelled gases whenever they fired, keeping the propulsion system free of water entry.
yes i sold a few out of interest, i own a airsoft shop in portland oregon. they were great
that quality is amazing good job guys
I can see how you can assume the APS is more of a spear gun-like weapon however, that IS still a firearm and works on the gas operated, rotating bolt system that the M16 also works on. The reason any firearm of a modern design is ineffective underwater is being of water pressure on the bullet, not the bolt. The faster an object moves submerged in water, the greater resistance the water puts on the object. Due to this, the bullet has a tendency to break up and lose all force.
all you have to do is get a stronger spring for aegs(assuming it's not a cheap piece of crap that'll break), gas guns you have to do much more,we aren't talking bout snipers, snipers are much different, big tanks ruin it even if gas guns are better(which they are not), they limit movability, make things less relistic, and limits space for extra guns and ammo. also, monster guns don't go over 1000 fps
thats one of the coolest sounding guns i have heard
@DopeyShadey Actually a KJW GBBR doesn;t even have a spring just a rubberband, and even then the rubberband can be taken out and the gun will still function fine.
yes it used them, but the clips did not stay in the mag, modern day mags use clips to, m4 mags use clips. only 500 more than chinese made ones but some companies have m4s for just as much but still, anything over 220 is WAAAAAY too much for an airsoft gun when you can get a clone that's the same thing for half the price
@MusicScoutMunich At least they're out doing something, not sitting infront of their computer all day crying out for more cheetos.
0:37 very stealthy...
@oshyria You can't argue paintball vs airsoft. theyre both in there own ways.
i am so doing this with my gas pistols now! this is just awesome.
The bullets for the APS and SPP are specially designed so they cut through the water rather than force their way through. Also, the MP5 is a roller delayed blowback system, like the CETME. However, the speed of the bolt is not fast enough to cause any major problems. Honestly, I have never fired any rifle underwater, nor do I intend to. I'm merely stating facts and making logical steps.
aegs can get a much higher fps than a gas gun, so far no gas gun can reach 700 fps w/o modification, hop up in aegs is better than gas guns because it's a much easier thing to make for such consistant gun, gas can break down just as easy as an aeg, of course this depends on the company made your gun for both aegs and gas guns, gas requires more mantinence and you can't get hi-cap mags for them. using a simple battery is just more conveinant for competition use
love the sound of the gun
i think the VFC scar has this feature now, theres a water test somewhere on this sight, waterproof guns would be nice for games when it floods
yes i agree, normally airsoft blowbacks use green gas, but this one is c02
Good research but if you read what my second comment was I was talking about "firearms". Even though the APS is an automatic weapon to me it seems more like a speargun based weapon. The SPP supports my arguement since its a manually loaded speargun. And still you can't fire an MP5 or M16 underwater anyway, or an AK-47 for that matter.
@HyP3rxMiTchXx0 The balls melt and jam the piston. Theyre meant to be bio-degratable so water doesnt do any good for em. Doesnt help if you dont use pre-greased gas tubes either.
i play in portland, oregon, where it's freezing 9 of 12 months, i know bout the cold just as much as you. ye the gears are stiff but being cold makes them stiffer. also A&K is not crap, china has been making extremely good guns lately if you look at the right company, cyma, jg, A&K, dboys, (ca is china but i hate them), JLS, and well's last 2 guns surprised everyone with the quality, especially the r4(mp7) i'd get a clone over a tm any day when i could buy the real firearm for the same price
this is why i love airsoft
LOVE HOW HE FRONT ROLLS INTO THE WATER
you can buy a brand new bushmaster m4(semi auto civillion) for 1300 at gun shows. and aks, aks are cheeper than most airsoft
love the dive man- you should've done a squirrel
na, obviously not stock, lol, and surprisingly i did that test and A&K lasted a long time
LOL, you guys must be Ranger-Seal-Snipers. Awesome Tacti-cool jumps.
Gas pistols i know can shoot underwater and above water without problem. Just make sure to dry it off well when you're done. Same with Electric guns. Which is very suprising
actually, a modern escort is better than an electric gun cause a simple change of psi can adjust fps and based on barrel length can reach higher fps ranges than an electric gun. it is outfitted with the best type of hop up in the world apon request (a design with 3 orings) and is far more reliable because of the gas system (no electrical breakdowns). the only downside to using one is the external tank, which can be stored in a hydration pack anyway.
Oh, I also forgot to mention that the AK-47 has the same rotating bolt system as the M16 but with 2 lugs.
Oh my gosh, that totally beats shooting 2 guns while jumping in the air!
nice gun! nice review! nice pool!
m1's had internal mags not clips and i do not care i still call mags clips. i could care less if people are picky bout it
nice way to go classic airsoft but not to break it to ya but you can do that with aegs too (just dont get the connections wet and just relube everything ever
i did something like this in airsoft. i was in a creek/river and the water was up to my chest. me and some guys were trying to get this dune buggy from behind because our team was under heavy fire. a mini gun was mounted on the dune buggy.
@Account0997 hmm i see....well thanks for the heads up!! was gonna buy another g36 just to see if it works after you put it water......good thing i didnt......
HAHAH omg i love at the end after all the roll-ins and dives he does he just jumps off the diving board. nice
which is the exact point i make but to an extent, am airsoft gun over 250 is NOT worth it. this is coming from an airsoft dealer
Gas is harder to find in machine/sub machine gun form, and requires more maintenance. AEG's can be upgraded more, and made more powerful. Also, an AEG works better in cold weather, but it being electric wont do that^^ lol.
underwater airsoftmatch that woud be awesome!
Because a giant spash is super stealthy when you have to do a dynamic take down in a mall where there's a fountain...
You know it's non-existent ;)
I have the Escort MP5 myself, very nice gun, but the hopup doesn't like anything heavier than .2g BB's so it's not my first choice for woodland skirmishes. Kicks ass in CQB though.
I love the sound! :D
With all the people saying how electrics are better than gas, it's starting to sound like ASF in here.
@davionic2 its cheaper than real guns but about the same as paintball this gun hes shooting is about $600 and there are guns that go up to $2000
snip3down is right, supressive fire is very important. Dont give the enemy a chance to shoot back, and let your friends go to their obj, or get close enough they can kill him.
@snorkel321 you get the same style events in airsoft.
Description says it all. It's made from metal that can't rust.
I want to see a "two day after" clip!
Thats not my point, I have no doubt that they go in the water. What I am saying is you cannot fire any firearm with excessive amounts of water in the chamber. It has to do with surface tension and impact.
yeh same here dude that thing is awesome
u can bring airsoft guns underwater now :o
ohh emm gee thats awesome
Nice to see you practicing in a pool. Typical seal training, now where is the horn or balancing the ball on your nose???
water + brass + air equals bad corrosion. id know, my barrels all got corroded pretty bad when the dew set on them during a night op
@Account0997 hmm...im not sure about HFC cuz the airsoft store i work in doesnt sell HFC
the most pistols we sell are usually KWC and if you use them correctly they last for years....
try to do that with a systema m4a1
@drewb1994 no, unless some one racks the gun to 800+ fps, even then, it wont do much. Airsoft wont kill unless you like get a minigun that +700 fps. The real danger is usually ones eye. Airsoft can easily cause blindness. WEAR EYE PROTECTION
@Account0997 yeah but in taiwan KWA's back up parts come like really slow even tho KWA's main factory is in taiwan......and tokyo Marui is really expensive here in taiwan and if buy one youll need to upgrade tokyo marui for sure or it breaks down really fast so people like us in taiwan dont really buy them we just stick with VFC ICS or G&G and WE especially WE cuz we cant own real life fire arms so we love airsoft guns with hard recoil.....
watch towards the end of the tape as he jumps off the diving board. someone looks like they just got back from shopping and the person is so confused at what they are doing. if you were my kid i would be upset too.
No, old-school YE MP5. It's a HPA rig.
the diving board is the best one
@LegoBoyLego The receiver, barrel, or both (if you're really unlucky) will blow up in your face.
LOL the dude jumped off of the diving board so funny. Sweet gun though
I'm not flaming or anything but just a comment about the surfacing and spraying tactics, no real gun could do that. Anything blocking the chamber even water will cause the gun to backfire and exploded.
wow, special for navy seals and that stuff, they use mp5 and mk23, even MORE realistic! =D enjoy it dude! ;D
i've always wanted a GBB... but im still thinking about the green gas thing...
Might want to point out this looks like HPA, not the same as your standard gas gun.
are all gas rifles like this where they can be shot right after being submerged with no problem?
dude, systemas are way worth it, they are expensive for a reason, THEY ARE THAT GOOD! and yes, iknow, clips do not go in the gun, the mag does, the clips load the mag, but i am not picky bout what i call them
That's actually pretty nice, but the problem with gas is the reason y most airsoft rifle users r sticking with electric. You really dont need to jump into the water or try to pop out of the water like that
that would be funny as hell if you make a video where someone was walkin by the pool a night like u were havin a pretend war and you popped out of the water yelling komikaze and shooting the person that would be hilaroius
Escort guns use Marui magazines. AEGs cant go beyond 700fps withought modification eighter. and besides, tanaka sniper rifles can shove that kind of fps out. Monster guns shoot beyond a thousand FPS and run off of gas. no, gas guns are not consistant, but the type of hop up is nts effected by fps levels, just bb weight. believe it or not. paintballers do just fine with big tanks.
i said it's easier, not that their is
Kind of a weird way to test it but it was cool
well one of my friends used to live in LA (the state) and he played airsoft around a bayou and hid in the water til someone wondered by and popped up and shot them lol
now that's an airsoft ninja
outstanding
Wow, i feel a lot better about myself after watching that.
that looks like it was fun to make
@flameshark101 no, you'll fuck up the seals.
There is only one gun rated to actually fire underwater and thats the glock. It is a very unsafe practice to fire any other weapon.
im wondering if my gun can waterproof a gas gun because im gonna be airsofting where theres an island and i have to wade/swim (depending on where i cross) to get there but i dont want to be a sitting duck the whole time plz help
Thank god!
Thats was fun to watch. Thats some shit my friends and i would do.
the spring board one was funny
i like your name! rings a bell somehow ;)
now, lets do that with gear, in a night op,in the middle of an intense firefight. :D
I have a question, what happens to the loob after jumping into water, i'm pretty sure there will be unecessary grinding right? Or am i wrong and the loob acts as if its in air? i want to be wrong
lol 0:39 ! Imagine someone doing that in a real war! The enemies would have died because of laughing!
Nerf cant do that...
Paintball cant do that...
Airsoft can do that and more...
Maybe, but SteyrAug's MP-5SD actually fires real bullets
I'd like to correct you. There are several guns that are rated to fire underwater; the APS (Avtomat Podvodnyj Spetsialnyj), the SPP (Spetsialnyj Podvodnyj Pistolet), and the P11. Those are SPECIFICALLY meant for underwater use. Seriously, do a little bit of research before saying "There is only one gun rated to actually fire underwater."
@Account0997 hmm my bad for replying so slow didnt really see the Q
hmm we dont get to see alot of HFC in taiwan but most people say durable~
and for pistol try KWC ive had a glock and 1911 for atleast 4 years never broke and still working fine~
since when? even the agm m4 can be fired underwater
its a classic airsoft its a gas umm i cant tell the brand becuase i dont know taht much about classic airsoftguns (i want one though)
i like the sound
ok well i dont no much about paintball. but i no this. paintball ammo does melt or biodegrade in water trust me ive put or dunked a paintball in water for 3 seconds and brought it out it was no good to use. so you can fire a paintball gun underwater. but its not very good for the gun. but hey this is an airsoft video. so airsoft can do more :)
wonder if it acutually shoots under water
i would sure like one of these......
ummm, no all you need to do is upgrade the spring in an aeg. besides, gas sucks, it doesn't work well it colder temps and that's how it is here 9 of 12 months. batteries are more conveinant, cheeper, and overall a better thing to use
