      @@paulc3749 yes, his style never relied on speed. That is the first thing to go, just like in Roy Jones. Hopkins never had real power. He won most of his fights by grabbing and holding. I'm not hating on him, but that was his style. Allowed him to stay in the game a long time. Just like Klitschko

      @@boxingcirclesaroundtheworl1469 actually a prime Roy Jones is way better, not even a question. But Roy lost his speed and that allowed Hopkins to stay with him. Hopkins grabbing style and not relying on speed kept him in the game.

    Roy was one of the most natural gifted boxers that you will ever see...he knew he was the best and his flashiness proved it...Bernard was one of the most technically efficient fighters on the planet and his dedication to his craft made him a legend for his longevity to the point we thought he was a "Alien!" 👽😂

    This became one of my favorite RUclips vids of all time. The Transcendence presented in this interview is nothing short of Amazing. This conversation goes way differently in the 90's, you could feel the tension and hunger between them back in those days. They sit here today with Roy's wife and Bernards son just reminiscing. Beautiful!

    Never in a million years did I think Roy and Bhop would be that close to each other without swinging. Them dudes had a natural and AUTHENTIC dislike for one another all throughout their careers but they obviously have always respected each other a great deal which is how a friendship has developed. They had 2 great fights too! Congratulations to both these legendary fighters on their hall of fame inductions.

    Great interview Ellie. I remember seeing Roy Jones and Bernard Hopkins 1 in real time in 93. On the bus you also had former welterweight champion of the world Marlon Starling.... I had the Chance to make it to the International Boxing Hall of Fame in 2019. All true boxing aficionados have to go to Canastota. For 43 years I have been studying the sweet science and I agree with B-hop ... The 80's was an incredible era .
