- Lac Lacroix Indian ponies are a rare Canadian breed dating back to the 19th century. By the 1970's, the breed was virtually extinct, with only 4 ponies left living near a small village in Northern Ontario. Through the rescue and rehabilitation efforts of a dedicated group of individuals, the ponies are making a comeback. At Abbey Gardens, we have two Lac Lacroix Indian ponies. We're helping to raise awareness about this important breed. Stop by and visit our boys!
LOVE this - THANK you!!!
When you touch the ponies ear and it be softer than the skin on a girls wrists #Staar
They are an important part of Anishinaabe heritage. And they are meant to be semi-feral. How colonial can you be!
