It would be nice to get rid of check reins and tail sets. A horse that is forced to carry his head high is just fashion. Same with tail sets. So much more beautiful with their natural carriage.
Kristine Apine I’m not a gaited horse expert (I prefer hunters/dressage/eventing) so this is a guess. They look like little heel booties- to protect them from stepping over from their back legs. (Like giving yourself a flat tire) I’m guessing at this level their equipment is very much controlled by the horse show association and they have to be under a certain weight(I’ve heard that a common training measure in gained horses is to train with weighted boots, to get them used to pulling their legs up high ...with lighter show booties it would feel like carrying a pebble after carrying a boulder. Similar principle to training over slightly higher fences than you show)
Merry Christmas I'm from Egypt

they actually have a naturally high head set and the check rein isn't tight on most of them...
as for the tail set - they no longer dock a horse or pony - and I am very happy about that:) I like a natural tail:)
@@susanwalker8159 Then why do they even have it? The only purpose is to hold their head up.
@@grumpyotter the check rein also keeps a horse or pony from getting their head down to buck or kick ...and yes the best ponies need to not kick...
@@susanwalker8159 I'm just against artificial aids in general. At least they've stopped docking!
DANNNYYYYY
what's on their hooves?
