This is why I trust you and think your channel is about 30% better than the rest:) Haha. Thanks for the correction. Honest mistake vs intentional deception.
Thanks for explaining the gpm vs psi background! You’re the first person to take the time to do that from what I can tell. I want a multi purpose unit - clean my cars and keep my deck/driveway clean.
I've been using the Ryobi for years now and I've never had huge issues. I love it. I don't see the need for a more expensive unit as you said I can find this one everywhere so if it breaks I'll just go buy another one asap. It works great with my upgrades and has decent output. For sure it won't outlast or out perform a more expensive unit such as an AR unit or the Kranzle units however for the price and what I use it for I'm just fine.
Are you having any issues with Active 2.0 tripping every time you turn off the unit? For example: Rinsing -> Finished Rinsing -> Turn off Active 2.0 -> Turn on Active 2.0 -> Need to press the breaker reset button on unit power outlet. The last step is where I feel should happen unless there was an actual trip due surge protection. I use Dewenwils remote control outlets to remotely turn on off the washer.
I've had electric pressure washers do that. The plugs breaker would trip and not come back on. I cut the wire and wire a straight plug to it. I'll run like that till the pump goes out. Then just buy a new one. I've done this to Greenworks, Craftsman and Ryobi. Looking to buy this unit, but idk yet
Thanks for the video. You definitely made up my mind I was gone get the Active 2.0 but I heard all the same issues your having. Thanks for being honest Definitely getting the Kranzle k1322 or k1622. Quietness is key around my area .

Interesting. Well it is still possible. I’ll say this. The active 2.0 is great but reliability is king. We have to be able to count on our tools to work for us.
Thanks for this comment. I'm just a do-it-yourselfer detailer for friends and family. I have a Greenworks PW and upgraded to a Uber Flex 50 ft hose. I'm thinking of purchasing the 2.0. What do you mean by surging?
You can use an Uber flex hose with it but active says these units aren’t designed to be used with a 50 foot hose. It comes with a 25 I believe. It has to do with back pressure. I think I know it doesn’t make sense. It should work fine And to be fair it does, but all of my active units have broken on me.
@@StaySlick That is hysterical, because i am actually using 3/8 x 75' there site says hose not to exceed 100' the machines whines so much. I have had it over 1 1/2 and I am an at home enthusiast. I'll start by saying I'm not a detailing pro. I bought the Ryobi from HD about 4 months ago for detailing my personal car, using a 25 feet flex hose with it and a McKillan's foam cannon. The first four times, I had one issue for a minute or so where the machine would run but not create any pressure. Just yesterday, it would run continuously without creating any pressure at all. Not sure if this what you refer to as 'surging', but more like 'stalling'. Now considering an Active 2.0. Since I'm not a pro, the cons you mention wouldn't really apply to me. I've seen it for $350 on Amazon, and $270 on Ali Express. But I doubt I'll be buying an more Ryobi products in the future. Thankfully, I'm not out a lot of money.
I just picked up the active VE52 on Black Friday for 225. Man the difference in pressure has been crazy coming from my old sunjoe unit. I only take care of my personal cars so I’m hoping it lasts a long time for me and my usage.
I had that ve52 and sadly those numbers they claim are always the rare ones. I purchased one and only got about 45 car washes when it took a dump. I honestly just went and got a Ryobi and haven't had any issues in over a year.
Awesome video. I’m just a dumb homeowner! Would the active be a pressure be good for around the house? Siding, patio, car etc? Or should I get a Greenworks like the 2300 or karcher 1700? For example. Thank you!
Hey man! One thing got me a bit confused..did you say you can only wash 3 consecutive cars with it? I would have my hose attached to it, wouldn’t that allow me to use it for at least a couple of hours, seeing i would be using infinite water supply? I am having a hard time picking between the Active 2.0, Greenworks 2700 or even the Greenworks 2300, which is 3rd on my list. Great video man!
I have a very similar gravity fed truck bed setup as yours. Mine started surging every 30 seconds on the dot. They gave me a list of procedures to try to fix the issue but it didn’t work for me. The washer is awesome but for it to be surging after 3 months it makes me pretty paranoid. Luckily I bought 2 of these so i won’t be out of work. Just sucks it only lasted 3 months before having issues. Edit: I’ve seen plenty of videos of people having issues with all brands of electric pressure washers so I’m by no means hating on active. Just wish electric pressure washers were more reliable in general
Yea I’ve heard quite a few people having issues as well. Mine has been vibrating on initial use like it has air in the lines but when I go to purge it there is no air. 🤷🏻
Yeah I’ve been running the small ryobis for a couple years but keep having surging issues. I’m also doing gravity fed but they keep burning up after barely 3 months. I was looking at the active thinking it was the ryobis issue but I’m going to get a pump which should help with this issue. I have a 65 gallon in my truck setup. Whats the required amount of water flowing to the active 2.0? My garage has a 1/2" water line under ground from thebhouse about 200ft before it would go into the pressure washer. Do you think that would be enough water flow?
If you're speaking pex, 1/2 inch pex is very restrictive! 3/4 pex should be used. If talking 1/2 copper, copper would be fine. On copper there is far less restriction than 1/2 inch pex. BUT, you mentioned 200 feet of underground line? I'd use 3/4 pex, and still check to see water pressure to see where it is at. 200 feet is a long way. Surely would not like 1/2 pex to be used for 200 feet.

It sure is bud. Already did it. Obviously not the same as a gas unit but come on let’s use common sense.
@@StaySlick I own a house washing business, I pressure wash driveways all the time, and 2gpm might just take the dust off 🤣
Hey brotha I believe you however I base my opinions off of anecdotal experience and I am more than satisfied with what it did for my driveway. Again OBVIOUSLY not going to compete with a gas unit.
@@StaySlick I Understand I just think this unit is made specifically for Car Detailing not washing driveways👍🏽🔥 I’m going to get me it for my detailing💪🏽🔥
Yea for sure man if I was serious about pressure washing this would be the last unit I got. For detailing it’s amazing so far.
The ryobi sucks spend 350 get something nice. I went through 9 tho or cheap washers
In 3 years of actual hard detailing
Very annoying and they break down usually 3-6 months
Must be user error. Your experience is in the minority bud.
I realized quickly that 90% of products/equipments are gimmick to make money on this overhyped profession/business, so if you are constantly upgrading equipment you already have, then you are losing money.
This is true
Can't agree more, just an Advertisement for you tubes to make money
wish i would have seen this. bought the 2.0 and it only lasted 10 minutes and now dead. no thanks
I would definitely get an exchange. I’ve had mine since it came out and it’s still working
Yeah thats crazy. I do 3-8 cars a day with it for about 3 months now and it hasn't missed a beat.
$400 ouch
It’s pricy
I rather buy 3 ryobis. Why spend $300 on one pressure washer when you can buy 3 , the gpm being higher is good i guess but is it really because you save time on the job but then you gota go refill up the tank . Ppl buy these expensive things for the hype
I stand by the ryobi pressure washer 100%. However the active 2.0 is legit and does save time. Both are great.
@@StaySlick but like he said you spend more time filling up your tank so you don't account for that?
Well it is not made for mobile detailing it even says so on the website. To complain about something that breaks when you use it for not as intended is astonishing
I don’t think youre following why this video was made. Let me explain again…. Knowing that most people who buy this unit are going to use it for an unintended use like detailing is why I made the video. This video is for THOSE INDIVIDUALS. Not someone like yourself. So for the people who are going to to use it for detailing this video gives them some insight about what to expect.
@@StaySlick my apologies mistook the information thanks for the update!
Excellent customer service???? 2-week turnaround? That's HORRIBLE.
Horrible is being ignored and not getting a replacement.
@@annagraham6204 2 or 3 days would be excellent . 2 weeks means you need to buy 2 machines so you have a backup. it's horrible.
I’m not sure what kind of online stores you’ve dealt with but this has been the fastest any company has had a replacement out to me other than Amazon. Considering I spoke with a rep on Instagram and emailed the company directly that same day. 2 weeks was more than appropriate for me especially since this is my garage unit.
