The worst light I've ever tested, at 20% power the fan makes already a deafening noise, practically unusable for my videos. It's a shame because the underlying idea was very, very interesting.
Maybe this isn’t a thing for north americans as public transport and distances is usually a challenge. But I'm completely in love with things that let's me pack a kit small enough to bring on a bike or bus and get to the gig. Zhiyun have definitely made this more possible. #notsponsored
I'm sorry to go of topic, but can you please tell about that led lamp made with circles that you use in the background? I like it a lot and want to know more please
@@FellowFilmmaker - Comparing one or two of the current/formerly popular small lights to this one would be informative. This one has features the "old stand-bys" do not. As creative as you are, I am sure you would be able to demonstrate the limitations of the older lights, and creative uses for the barn doors and grid on the Zhiyun light. Each generation was designed with different paradigms.
This is the first time I've ever been fast enough to start watching a video to actually beat the YT processing lol - that or the other videos I watch are scheduled. Had to refresh to get more than 360p 😂
I am so glad you reviewed this light. I saw an 11:49 long video on it and half way through it felt like it had been 20 minutes and I still only knew little about the light. I was so glad to find your review because I knew it would not have all that fluff. I think this light fills a void. I have some small WWRGB lights that are great when you just need a splash of light to bring up some darkness, not so much for illumination. Then I have lights that will definitely illuminate anything. THIS light goes between when you need a little illumination, and might even need some more power than that, but a bigger light is just too much. This light certainly has a number of features, which is also nice. Definitely have to put this one on the list. I've had a few circumstance where this really would have been the right tool.
@@FellowFilmmaker😉😉 Also, you mentioned the color temp went up to 10,000K, but the readings posted were only up to 7,000K. Do you have any further info?
I was going to, but at 1% they all get mushy and very off. So I decided to just go to a temp that folks will likely use. It does go up to 10,000K tho :D Looks very blue haha
There's many out there, depends on what you'll use it for. 60w lights are small enough to battery operate but also powerful enough to use as a keylight in some cases. Check out the channel, I've done tons of videos on 60w lights
Sounds cool but the fan aaand that it switches off when switching from battery to power delivery will probably ""ruin"" some shots :( also it's more expensive
Nice video. Is the battery removable? I have had very bad experiences with lights that have built-in batteries and don't want to consign it to landfill post the battery dying.
Damn that looks extremely neat, and a decent step up from the ubiquitous pocket LED bricks. Love your reviews, they are delivered informatively with a minimum of fuss. Respectfully and humbly I would enjoy seeing you measure the fan noises of these little lights, bunch of good phone apps for it, to give a DB, as one persons loud isn't anothers. Love the channel, intrigued by the light, and the tri light setup looks quite attainable.
I really hope light manufacturers start to follow the EU regulation about removable batteries when it comes into effect. You have to choose between usb c and removable batteries currently
What are your thoughts on this light?
Looks nice, but I've got two little RGB card-size lights that I picked up for $20 each. I'll use the budget on this to go shopping for another COB! 🤣
They seem like that extra light you wish you had a lit of times for background, kicker, hair and that sort of stuff.

Can the special effects be done from the app?
I personally thought you looked better with long hair, but it's not bad with your current style. ✌️
Cool little light. I like what Zhiyun is putting out. Hopefully they start to compete with the higher wattage lights
Yeah for sure!
Much more versatile than the standard pocket lights. Can you power these with battery banks?
Yeah if it's a usb-c power bank and rated high enough watt output

That's a really good point!

Sure, it's a floor lamp, here's the link: amzn.to/47FZs8q
I bought this base on your review and was
Disappointed.
Why is that just wondering?
Thinking of getting this as key light for Food Photography...do you think it'll work? Thanks!
Hello !
If you had to compare it with the Aputure MC Pro, which one would you choose ?
With the idea of using it for lighting a small room
I think I might make a comparison as that would be easier. Would you be interested in that video?
@@FellowFilmmaker I think it would be great !
Thanks for your quick answer

Such a handsome review

Sorry bout that! Guess RUclips is a bit slower than I expected today :p
Yeah, mine kept skipping backwards!
compare it to vl49 by ulanzi
Nice compact light with loads of features, worth paying that bit extra. By the way - loving the 'new' look, suits you 🙂
Thanks! 😊

Well put :D Glad I could provide you an awesome and concise review :D I too hate those long ones
Nice new look!
Great little light!
Greetings from Uruguay!
Thanks so much :D
great and professional review! made me understand better which are the strong points and flaws of this light
Glad I could help!
You are now one of my favorite RUclipsrs!
Awesome!
Really like your scene lighting in this video. Nice set design as well. Cheers.
Thanks!

Can you add 2 diffuser plates on it to soften the light even more? Thanks!
Zhiyun is making some very good lights. How does it compare to the Aputure MC?
I might make a comparison if folks would like
@@FellowFilmmakerthat would be most appreciated!
The MC is a 5w light, while this is 20w, so the zhiyun wins on power. And utility
Oh snap i didn't know it had an app
the more you know :D

thanks for the feedback
wow, thats how technology gos down, 360p quality ant yes 20W power for that all :D
Crap, video is still processing a bit. It'll 4k in a few
I really hope light manufacturers start to follow the EU regulation about removable batteries when it comes into effect. You have to choose between usb c and removable batteries currently
Looks like the light literally has a 18650 lithium battery on the backside
I actually bought an older Zhiyn gimbal only because of the standard batteries
Can it be use to help light a reception dance floor.?
I'd say so yeah
So this is cheaper and has more intensity then the MC Pro?
Yep
@@FellowFilmmaker i just got a MC Pro and its a great light. But the power output is a bit disappointing. It's as strong as my $40 Weeylite.
