These agricultural groups and farmers should be pressuring the railways to make a deal with the workers. Don't trample on the workers by crying to the Government to get involved. Leave the Government out of it. One of CPKC's offers was to go to arbitration lol. That's not an offer. That's not negotiating. That's asking the Government to do their dirty work for them rather than sitting down and actually offering a decent contract.

That guy's disappointment - where does "security" end? Emotional security, intellectual security, fantasy security....? Unless life is immediately in grave danger - a la medical emergency or house on fire or home invader (medical, firefighting, police), with no real alternatives, than it's not essential service.

I think the railways monopoly abuses its power to maximize profits as 1st,2nd,3rd priority. It knows the government will step in and wont cost them anything extra. All the pressure should be focused on the rail company's and the unions. No one should be pressuring gov to step in even before any action takes place. During this entire broadcast you have not said what the issues they disagree on are. that should be the info newsworthy so the public knows the WHY not just the WHAT. That's my opinion anyhow.
