  • Hello everyone!
Following the release of Dress-up Darling's OST volume 2, I was really inspired to create my own arrangement of the track "Promise" since no one has done a full version yet to my knowledge and I really wanted to play it. I also plan to make arrangements for "Thank you," "Because I love you," "I want to help" and "Forever" which I will start on as soon as my uni exams are over in 2 weeks =D The OST is just so good! I've never been this motivated to make my own arrangement.
    About the arrangement:
Overall, it took me about 12 hours to get a satisfactory sheet and I just polished it over the last couple of days.
One of the most challenging part to arrange was the opening chords since you can hear the left hand distinctly playing G#, G#, F#, F#, E, E but then I heard the right hand play B B F# B B B B so I ended up overcomplicating the chords. However, the final version is much simpler and I think it's more accurate to the original (you can even hear the B B F# B B B B pattern in the right hand even though I'm just playing B's) - sometimes simpler is better!
Another challenging part to arrange was when the guitar first started since I kept running out of space in the mid-range and kept wishing I had more notes in the middle part of the piano T.T. I ended up using seventh chords to give it more of a romantic feel and moved the left hand (which was trying to mimic the piano accompaniment in the original) a bit lower.
I also tried to include the violin section too at 0:55 by playing G# A B while keeping the original melody lower down.
I'm fairly happy with this arrangement considering it's my first one. Feel free to give me any feedback! I now have an even greater appreciation for those who regularly arrange since it's so hard and I kept thinking "what if it's not good enough? How can I make it even better?"
That's all for today, see you later (if you get what I mean) =)

@@SoyStrow Hey, sorry for the delay in making the tutorial. I couldn't quite figure it out but on musescore, you can show the keyboard while the music is playing. However, it doesn't distinguish between left and right hand and there doesn't seem to be a feature to let you do that.
      Would that be okay?
Uni's been pretty busy so I was unable to do it on the weekend :(
