I saw this in June 1967 at the Martin Beck theatre. I was 9 years old and still can remember so much of the musical.

Wow. That voice! The dancing!! What talent. She should have been a huge star and draw on Broadway. I guess those were different times.
She won the Tony that year. Make no mistake about it, Leslie Uggams was a groundbreaking entertainer and a very well known star through the early sixties and late seventies. It's great to see her back in the spotlight at the age of 80 in 2024.
