My girlfriend is a 1st grade teacher and she told me a student came up to her the other day. He asked her if he could show her something cool and she said of course. He should her one of your episodes that he was watching on their iPads during electronics time. She told him all about how we watch blue world as well and how I dive also. Showing them my pictures of fish and wrecks I’ve dove all over. They were fascinated. Thank you Jonathan for keeping the kids interested and hopefully making future divers out of them.
This episode is INSANE!! The blue hole is such a cool dive spot, and definitely a place I want to dive someday. Those stalactites were really cool too!
Dove Blue Hole in Palau years ago, it's much smaller than the one in Belize. A hole is a hole, I prefer to dive tropical reefs with interesting corals and sea life.
Wow the stalactites are enormous! The scale of everything in the blue hole and the walls are massive! It's actually a little scary, some thalassophobia vibes with the depths below but I love the insight to what is actually in or around the Blue Hole!
When you go on these ships do people recognize you? Or do you have to explain what you do? (thanks for specifying that the reefs are healthy. I appreciate knowing they are okay.)
On dive boats, most people are at least familiar with the show, even if they aren't huge fans. We usually have at least a few big fans on the boat and that's always fun.
You should go to the blue hole in Dahab,Egypt. I know you guys are cave trained but not trimix? There's a really nice technical required dive through a giant archway starting around 57 metres that leads out to the red sea. The crazy thing IS that it's essentially a shore DIVE e. It has a beautiful rock mural for those that haven't made it and has a superstitious story about an unmarried beauty in her wedding dress calling people to its depths, apologies if you've covered it already but I couldn't find one in that site.
@@BlueWorldTV OH MY GOD YOU ACTUALLY RESPONDED I used to watch you when i was small. like 10 years ago, this is my dream come true. Can I please express frustration that I have actually been to all of these countries he lists, but only pre-diving-interest? Now they all feel like wasted opportunities 😭😭😭
And you feel bad? I live in Belize City and I have a beach front vacation home on Ambergris Caye Island. You tourists come and enjoy my Country, while I worry about bills and trying to stay afloat in these hard times. I never did scuba diving or desire to do so. My nephew runs a successful diving shop on Ambergris Caye and I have access to boats through relatives or friends. Yet, my life is so busy that I do none of that stuff. I never left Belize for over 5 years now, on any sort of vacation. So did I make you feel better now:)
@@remogatron1010 @remo gatron not sure why you feel the need to unload all that. I was just saying I'm sad I didn't have the desire/training/etc to dive when I was in those places. Because chances are, I'll never have the opportunities again. But hey, if you want to chat about how hard life is, I do actually relate and I'd be glad to listen. 💜
@@backpackingcarlie1487 Honestly, I was going to say a few short sentences then it turned into some venting rant. LOL! I am sorry. I guess the same can apply to Americans as well. For example, there are people in Colorado who live near spectacular hiking trails and mountains and yet did not bother to do so their whole lives. I was just bored and alone in my house today and binge-watching travel channels on youtube and many were about the beauty of Belize. I guess I felt a little jealous that I am so busy with life that I never really took the time to enjoy my own Country. And I have opportunities to do so. Check this out though. I went to University in Halifax, Nova Scotia Canada and lived there for 5 years before returning to Belize. I was dating a Canadian woman back then and I was the one traveling all over Canada and doing touristy stuff there. She never even owned a passport or left Nova Scotia her whole life. What am I trying to say here? Thinking about it now, we do not need to travel 1000's of miles to enjoy life. Maybe, beauty is right where we live or inside our Country. Yet, some of us tend to be too focused on daily life instead of taking time out to enjoy our own Country. Your Country has many beautiful areas to visit. My sister has a USA passport and she moved to Florida to live again a few months back. She got scuba certified in Florida recently. Imagine that? She could have done that in Belize a long time ago. Like I said, we tend to take things for granted where we live while others enjoy it more so than us. Anyway, thanks for listening. I live in Belize City now like I mentioned already. Do you live in a big city? Winter climate? The humidity is crazy down here. Take care.
@@remogatron1010 hey all good! We all have those days and I do my share of venting! Haha. I wonder how your family, Jonathan, would be if they had scuba diving with you there, if they could. Did you mean it was the only best dive site for only Jacques Cousteau, and when was it that he went scuba diving there?
I would also wondering if there is footage from when he visited and you could do a comparison to how it looked then verses now on your other channel. :)
Cousteau visited in 1971 and he actually used dynamite to blast a hole in the reef to get the Calypso into the middle. (Not cool Jacques!) They still use that hole to get larger vessels in. In 1972 he released an episode declaring it one of the top ten dive sites in the world.
Your videos are amazing. My son and I have a tradition of watching one each night before bed and both look forward to it. We have learned so much! He is only 8 but looks forward to when he can get certified to dive.
