Amazing video, thank you very much for making it! Got yourself a subscriber here ;) Guyatone is really underrated IMO they made some very interesting gear over the years... I really like their FLIP amp series, hybrid designs that sound pretty good. The circuit in this pedal is similar to the first gain stage in a few versions of those.
Hi, welcome to the channel! Thank you so much for your kind words, I really appreciate it! Yes, I totally agree, Guyatone is wildly underrated, they made so many great sounding stuff, and some quirky unique stuff. I love their amps as well and have a 60s GA-930, a 70s Flip 1000, and an 80s Flip 300FC. They're all great sounding amps and many of them can still be found for an affordable price.
Thanks for watching! Great to hear that you liked how the pedal sounds! I think it has a real nice unique tone, and is also sounds great as a tube boost into an amp. 😃
Heya heya, love the videos you've done on this pedal! I just purchased one and am curious if I need a step down transformer to run it in the states!? Any help is appreciated.
Thanks for watching! I really appreciate your kind words! I'm not 100% sure, but if it's "Guyatone" branded, you need a step down transformer. If it's a Nady or Westbury, you should be fine. The required voltage should be labeled somewhere on the pedal. Hope this helps!
8:42 Ohh interesting - I got something like that half built right here - without the 2 naughty diodes that is lets see what you did with this (chop the diodes out?) Nice - yeah i call THAT an improvement :) :) PS Going back to the OD-2 you did earlier - i found just one of those lil FET OpAmp things being overdriven sounded so nice without diodes and stuff, I'm a lil bit stuck about how to use the other 2 OpAmp stages ;)
Hey Pete! Great to see you here, thanks for watching! Thanks for the kind words on the TO-2 mod! Yeah, the discrete FET op amp in the OD-2 sounds really nice overdriven on its own. Maybe use the other 2 to make a fuzz? :)
Do youknowoffhand ifthe guystone TD-1 also has the high plate voltage you explained in this video? Also if it does, what is tge diff between the two units- that being the TO-2 and the TD-1.. Thanjs….
As usual. Excellent video, awesome content. Thanks a lot Arito-san.
Hi Sid! Thanks so much again for your kind words and compliments, I really appreciate it!

This sounds really cool. It makes me want to make something like this

Thanks for watching! I'm guessing you skipped through the intro part of the video, but I briefly talk about the TD-1 around the 1:50 mark.
thanks so much sorry about that. I did go back and listen…. Love your stuff.
@@nunziosignore5264 No worries! Thanks for your kind compliments! I've never owned a TD-1 so my knowledge is very limited, but I hoped that helped!
