Karsten explodes out the blocks like a rocket everyday. Sorry Mundo but how on earth do you think you can beat him? Can’t wait to watch this. Just hoping to watch the race without lots of spoilers popping up before I see it.
@@thomasmiller28 I can’t wait! I bet he is super fast. I’m just thinking he may not have enough experience getting out of the blocks though and progressing through the phases of a sprint to maximise his performance.
I agree with Warholm 100%. It’s possible that Mondo could come out quick - he’ll probably have a good top speed and acceleration - but perhaps like Metcalf a couple years ago, Mondo’s speed endurance won’t match Karsten. I think there’s a chance Mondo will have Karsten beat in the first half, but Karsten will catch him before the tape.
Don’t think it would even be close. Jakob would slaughter with his strength and speed just basing it the way he can close a 5k in a low ≈1:50s negative split
I love this so much, but my money is on Mondo. World record holder in an event that utilizes a lot of short speed vs a 400m hurdler who doesn't run impressive flat races. No question in my mind.
@@GoodShepherdBandFan Warholm is not bad at 400 m flat, he runs indoors during the winter and won gold at two European Champioships (19&23) and a silver at the World Chmpionshis (2024)
I appreciate your confidence and staking your bet. I personally think that Karsten has the advantage, being a sprinter. Regardless, it’ll be a great spectacle!
10.57, +2.1 6 years ago during 2018 as an 18year old, and doing the pole vault competition just before. He has been running 40m at 10.3 m/s during pole vault competitions. That is basically starting and running with a pole that is approx 5 meter + and weighing around a couple of kilograms, however at the far end of the pole it is much heavier (weight distribution). Only concern is if he has the endurance to run for 100m at that speed or better. However Warholm is a runner, he do this every day from planning a race, knowing what he is good at and all of the essentials, that is an advantage that cannot be overlooked
It's actually not. Mondo would do sprint training multiple times a week in his training routine. Whilst Karsten would too, he obviously has to focus on endurance. Being as close as it was shows a fair reflection of the fundamentals needed for their respective sports.
@@hariseldon2450 We.wont know. It has to be a neutral event. Otherwise I can also say as well if they were to do pole run, Mondo would have beaten Warholm flat by more than 0.1 sec.
This is awesome. Credit to these guys for doing it. The biggest 100M race of the season? Sorry Noah, it just might be.
Karsten looks so different off the tracks
He’s one of my faves ❤
Warholm was spot on about the time needed to win. Nice run by Mondo.
10:3 ok ok can’t wait to watch ,it going to be 🔥
I just noticed how similar he sounds to Mike smith
Where can I watch the race?
Oh hey mb i was. Wrong not the 5th its tomorrow, same stadium tho everything from the previous comment is right
Probably just wait for it on youtube
@@waterrocketlab151 I think Diamond League meets are still available on Peacock through the end of this track season!
RedBull TV. Free

Pole vaulters are faster than people think. Mondo ran some decent times years back

ummmmmm
Did you see the race? Mondo shot like a cannon from the starting blocks. That guy can do anything and beat anyone.

Nope, Karsten never caught up.
they should also put Usain bolt, which must be around 10.4 right now
Proud to display all his sponsors !
Ah so redbull is bringing them together and against each other.
Redbull does crazy things
Next Warholm vs Ingebrigtsen on 800m, tho Jakob would prolly win

@@domp5882 i know, but 400mH wr holder would break 1:50 with ease, my guess would be 600m for warholm but on 800 jakob would get it by few seconds
The 400mH is very different than 100m
I think pole vault is more similar

He looks so young with the cap on.
Mondo is a pole vaulter for a reason.
reason being he runs extremely fast
Monday Gilligan is going to get beaten easily
When is it
In about 20 minutes.

Every jumper and vaulter is a sprinter first and foremost. Speed almost outweighs natural jumping ability in the highest level
warholm winning this no question..sorry mondo
Don't have to say sorry to Mondo because he won the race.
Mondo doesnt need to win this its more embarrasing if Karsten loses

Why don't they do the shorter meter race? Mondo can't win at 100. Maybe at 60 meters.
Sorry Duplantis!!!
Wrong
😂😅🤣
Karsten would have won if the race was longer, like 200m.

You were so wrong lmao
This is stupid
