what is the most brutal travel journey you have done?! let me know
Greyhound in USA 🇺🇸 enough said 😂 was only 5 hours but was hell
Tuguegarao City Cagayan Province to Legazpi City Albay Province Philippines. 1,200++ Kms. 28 Hrs. Via Public Bus
The x51 bus journey to and from work every day.
Back seat of a Chevy s10 in the little seat in the back and had to share with a dog all the way from nc to Kentucky, got peed on but was so glad to have got there , had to do it again to get back home lol I was just visiting family. Dang that was rough lol prob not as rough as this trip you took on the bus lol
You're a masocist. FLights, £35 one way. 2 and 1/2 hours
Ben’s vocabulary over his travels across Latin America consists of 3 things: “Vamos”, “Gracias” and “I’m starving” 😂
All you need 😅
You forgot one saying, "bloody hell" 😅
Butter my arse!
"Butter my arse" had me laughing!
Knackered
Way to go, Ben! Takeover Mexico City! I have to be honest, I was really concerned when you ate those two tacos before departing on the 27 hour bus ride to Mexico City! Good lord man, that was like playing Russian roulette with TWO live ones in the chamber! LOL just kidding, it looks like your journey is off to a great start, everyone has seemed really nice.
I don't think you were 100% kidding knowing how Ben's belly acts up on him 😂
Those Mexican street tacos are some of the best, but Ben's stomach is made of silk or something is so easy to get upset lol
Moctezuma's Revenge (Curse). 🤣
@@DannyOvox3 😂 Hahaha right 😂
Edit... Made of SILK hahaha that's so funny 🤣
That’s exactly what I thought, specially when the two guys, were playing with Ben, saying that you must watch it, Montezuma‘s revenge, and they were laughing, in a comical way, just being funny with him in
Brave man eating street food prior to a 27hr Bus trip, I did laugh when you said you had some stomach cramps : @ ) You will love Mexico Ben I have been 6 times and still want to go back, you mentioned Tulum, a nice little place not too far from Belize, chance to get another country ticked off if you have time Bro, Thanks for sharing Mate, Have fun : @ )
Thanks my man will hopefully go before I leave
Ben Partridge with the recurring “Ahaaa” is fast becoming a favourite part of these videos 😂
Hmm..I wonder which late night Norwich DJ Ben is chanelling ?
Ben, so pleased to see you in Mexico. My family is from Chihuahua, Jalisco (states) and CDMX (Mexico City). I hope you have a wonderful stay in Mexico. I suggest you keep your wits about you, and remember that tourist spots may be lovely, and total rip offs at the same time.
Cheers! So far I’m loving it I gotta say 🇲🇽
So is my dog
Ben, I'm so glad you're here in Mexico.
Mexico is MUCH, MUCH more than just beaches and Mexico city so I hope you enjoy as much as you can in your trip. If you want the quintessential Mexican experience you may want to visit: Oaxaca, Queretaro, Guadalajara, Mexico City, Guanajuato, and the list goes on :P
Bienvenido, Ben!
Loving it 😎👏🏼🇲🇽🇲🇽🇲🇽🇲🇽
@@BackpackerBen make sure to enjoy it at is fullest 🤞🏻 ☺️ 🇲🇽
Don’t forget to check out the cartel violence too!
@@jensgronning4436 thats's exactly what the video tells you its wrong. Obviously you wouldnt go to a shady alley in the middle of the night, nor in mexico or the USA. Cartels themselves know the importance lf tourism and its an issue, yes, but not as prevalent for the average joe or tourist as the media sells it to you.
Ben, FYI "bistek" is the Mexican interpretation for "beef steak".
@@CallieMasters5000 He will pick up on it the more he goes to Spanish speaking countries and maybe find an online Spanish speaking friend to teach him. Don't ask me, I'm not fluent and I'm an a$$hole I'll tell him*"chinga a tu madre"* means *"I bet your mother is proud"* 🤷🏻♀️
My daughter is more Mexican than I am and ohh Lord her Spanish was BAD. Like the little brown girl from AZ with a Mexican name spoke like a blonde from California. 🥴
His Spanish is worse than stepping on a dog’s spongey turd
Beefcake*
@@CallieMasters5000as a Brit who speaks fluent Spanish. Let me say that most Brits can not speak even basic Spanish and certainly can not pronounce it.
One exception is Mr. Bald (El Calvo). He actually speaks quite decent Spanish
Even I could tell it was beef steak and I wouldn't eat an animal.
Gripes about not being able to buy food at the short bus stop literally when the food ladies are walking off the bus lol 🤣
😂😂
Bloody ell Ben. Gruelling trip that but again, good to see the reality of travelling by road.
You looked so relieved to get into Mexico City and have some tummy safe food. 😂.
I’ll be looking forward to the next episode and get a look at Mexico city 🌆. Keep safe out there BB
I can see Mexico will be his top 3 country in his list. The way his smile says
I took a bus from Paris to Sevilla. That was brutal. 24 hours and the bus was bad. I have also traveled from Cancun to Veracruz using ADO and I really like the buses in Mexico. There is also first class bus and it is so comfortable. Your taxi fare from TAPO (bus central station in Mexico City) to Condesa was $6.00 dollars. Very good!!!
The way you say "Uno taco porfavor" is hilarious Ben 🔥
Hahaha awful ain’t it
@@BackpackerBen Yeah it is pretty magnificent 😂
Bloody hell, I'm knackered, butter my ass let's vamos and find una Cervas and Tack'ohs, muchos grassy ass... Love you Ben lol.
Glad you didn't get the runs on the bus Ben! Those Tacos were good! Thanks for sharing your adventures in the Americas. Safe travels and take care!
We love travelling with you, Ben! Enjoy Mexico!
Loved that you finally made it to Mexico Ben. Hope you enjoy the motherland and try all the delicious food and beer. Cheers mate, be safe.
I'm a new subscriber and I'm loving this channel! I admire your sense of adventure, thanks for bringing us along for the ride!
9:07 that bus driver was jamming to Los Temerarios 😂
Haven't been in a decade but have visited Mexico many times and have always had the best experiences. The people and the food are wonderful.
I knew you'd love Mexico City! It's mucho grande! Enjoy the food, that's Mexican food at its finest. I love that area, and I love the people of Mexico. I was surprised you didn't have Mr. Bald with you, but I'm glad you're experiencing Mexico City on your own.
Ben I love how you get off the bus in the 1 min they let the food sellers on.. you missed the food ahhaha nooo
Hahahah I couldn’t believe it honestly
21:39 Ben actually came on the spot right there by the sheer willpower of that taco
Your videos are very personable. it's like watching a good buddie trek across the land, hope that he gets to his location safely and happy for him when he finally gets to his final stop for the night.
Great review and spot on. I love Mexico and Mexico City. Great people, awesome food.
Awesome Ben! I look forward to the Mexico series...As someone who goes to Mexico often I'll be interested to see what you think of it. CHeers mate! See you on the next one...be safe
Great Ben! Hope you are enjoying Mexico overall
4:54 is that a Great Daine? what a beautiful doggo , Ben almost going for a headpat on most dogs is sort of showing dominance especially a first time encounter
kudos Ben! I'm mexican and I did the same trip in my twenties because I wanted to go from my home city Puebla to Cancun, but that was 17 years ago. Thanks, because a lot of people ask me if it's safe to travel by ADO and from your experience I see still is =D go to Cholula, Atlixco and Zacatlan in Puebla, the historic ''centro'' Puebla's downtown is also beautiful, you won't regret it. Mr bald didn't go there.. he was looking for narcos up nord ha ha ha. Truly very, very happy for you.. hope you enjoy and don't hate your stay like you did in Colombia. I'm currently living in Quebec, Canada if I knew you'd be there in Mexico I would had come join you with my whole famili
Glad you did the same trip 😆 don’t worry I’m loving Mexico 🇲🇽 🙏🏼
Thank u for the video Ben.Stay safe on yr Journey and have a blast.
I was on a 13 hour flight from Istanbul to Houston two years ago. That was rough. 27 hours would give you a sore back, sore neck, constipation and very bad body odor.
Was worried about that epic bus journey but looked ok..looking forward to more of Mexico City...Vamous Ben xx 🇬🇧
I thoroughly enjoyed this. Thank you y saludos. Enjoy México..
I just got back from the capital of mexico! I made so many local friends, its wild how open people were to chat and hang out
Excellent video Ben...keep them coming🙏
Sweeeet. A nice lil bit of entertainment to watch while having lunch break at work. Thanks Ben 👌
Lovely mate..food and beer at the end looks like heaven...youre a sucker for long bus train and boat journeys eh haha well done mate💯
Hello from Los Angeles, Ben and fam! Thanks for the amazing vids. I traveled from LA...to Venice otw to Singapore. plane ran out of fuel in venice before taking off and I missed my connecting flight in Dubai, so I had to stay the night there. The flight made its way to India Mumbai and again was delayed. I stayed in the airport for 8 hours then finally left from Mumbai to Singapore. The flight from India to Singapore was hell. AC barely worked..it was like flying in a Sauna. I went around the world not by choice but because a pilot forgot to fuel the plane and top her off! Be well everyone!
Hey Ben, I hope you got some time on the Yucatán coast, and side trips to one of the many Mayan ruins. It’s all a beautiful region.
Mexico City is one of my favourite cities - enjoy mate! Definitely worth a day trip to Teotihuacan as well.
11:40 that guy was for sure eying your backpack DOWN
I love your vids Ben ❤ brings me great joy to see someone travelling the world and living life ❤
Appreciate it 😎 thanks for watching
That city that you stopped at was one of my home cities, Puebla. One of the safest, most economical cities in all of North America. When you arrived at TAPO, I got goose bumps, as I walked that same route through the tunnel dozens of times. 123 pesos was cheaper than what I thought it would be. But waiting 15 minutes was absurd. I once, a couple years ago, tried to get a taxi directly in front of the exit of TAPO, and she wanted 200 to 300 pesos to the airport. THWT!..I walked about a block away, and flagged down a taxi in the street, and he charged me 80 pesos to the airport. Big difference. Damn, I'm really jealous of you. I should be there right now. But, for a variety of reasons I have to be in the US freezing my tush off. This video might just make me reserve a flight to Mi querido México!!.....Saludos y Suerte!
Thanks for sharing mate 😎 yes it really is amazing here I love it 🇲🇽
when I did it in 2006, it was 24 hrs...it was 100 USD in 2006, and kind of a sleeping bus...wide single seats...with complementary chips and drinks.....awesome exper.
Your videos just get better and better!
Mexico is awesome Ben you’ll love it
18 hour drive from west palm beach to Manhattan. Had to stop in Baltimore for a few hours to work on the way. Brutal. At least you didn’t take a chicken bus. BtW there is the Premier Bus that has seats that fold all the back and have WiFi. CDMX is my fav place. You gotta have the scorpion sushi at the top of the Ritz Carlton.
Great video mate, loved it
Also great video brotha I look forward to more 🤘
My new favorite vlogger. Keep it going, it's your time to shine bruh!!!
I appreciate that bro
Fantastic video. Cheers mate!
Happy St Patrick's Day Ben. Looking forward to your Mexico trip videos. Greetings from Auckland, New Zealand. Vamos Amigo!
Thank you for sharing your journeys with us and I hope that you will be allowed to visit the U.S. soon so I can show you around, Vegas, Hollywood and Chicago!
JURASSICK PARK! loving the look of this city!! excited for videos to follow!
Back of the nettttt
Back in Mexico I see....
Ayyyy I feel you on that long bus ride. I've had plenty from Phoenix to Culiacan Sinaloa which you've been before if I recall correctly. from Phoenix to Auguascalientes Aguescalientes.
I'm early today YAY 😁 okay back to the video. If I have anything else to say I'll be back. Much Love From Across The Pond.
Well across the river and wall.
Be safe jovencito 🙏🏻
Great video as always Ben
As an American it’s funny to hear another English speaking Gringo speak of Mexican food like it’s an exotic ethnic food. Tacko…lol.
Don’t mock the taco 🌮
Witching this video is like a 20mnts visit to Mexico.. Thx for upload Ben 💚
Ben, next time if there ever is one, get on the Metro in Mexico city, even if you are coming from the bus station or airport. It's normally quicker, easy and relatively safe.
Relatively should be sometimes hahah
Thanks Ben . Another Great adventurous trip . Makes me wanna get on a Bus for 24 hours ! 🙂
That was a epic journey Backpacker Ben!!! That was longer than that dreadful boat ride...
Very true 😂
Most buses in Mexico are pure luxury aha. We got on a third class bus through the mountains of Michoacán once though and that was pretty sketchy stuff.
Did a 30 odd hour bus on a terrible Colombian bus once.
Also in Nicaragua did a 6 hour ferry into a 10 hour wait in a bus station into the worlds uncomfiest 10 hour night bus into a 4 hour chicken bus.
I love a travel day from hell
25 hour trip. Was it the same driver all the way?
Another awesome and informative video, thanks Ben.
You intentionally punish yourself after that last bus ride and boat ride back to back just for our entertainment eh?..love it buddy..ur bloody nuts m8t!
That’s some serious busing. My longest bus trips were in Mexico, Chiapas back to Mexico City, long but not as long as your trip.
I thought you were having stomach cramps at the end of the video. Thank god the food was good. I've had so many memorable meals in Mexico; I miss it intensely. That experience of eating the most delicious thing in the world can't be beat.
Bringing me back memories when you was in the ado station! but i have no idea why your taking a 27 hour bus lol your crazy as usual!
Mexico 🇲🇽 looks great so far 👌
Belly full of tacos and Coronas, what can be better? I love Mexico. Viva! Excellent video, Ben. Can’t wait to watch the rest of your trip. Salud 🍻
I love that your picture from your visit to Bamiyan, Afghanistan is your screensaver!
4:32 🤣 bruh
Excited for this one
This video and your 28-hour boat journey video are like hell to me. I had to take a 27-hour AMTRAK/Bus combo ride from California to Tucson, Arizona, and it was hellish. That was in America, of course, and it was still bad; I can't imagine how awful these types of rides are in developing countries. After that AMTRAK experience, I realized I'll suck up flying or wait until I go to a developed European/Asian country to take a train again.
Love your videos, Ben. Massive fan of Bald, but I really like your more down-to-earth and "normal guy traveling" feel. Less "academic" and more "personal."
Brutal mate 😆 glad you’ve experienced the suffering like me and thanks for watching ✅
Amtrak is great, you can have your own private room with restroom and shower, and is a nice ride, the important part is the panoramic view
Mexican passenger buses are far superior in Mexico than in USA, in Mexico, you can get buses that first class ticket planes wish that look like, this video shows the normal busses and of course they are super clean, comfy but it is a long trip.
Just look for other Mexican buses and you will be surprised, ETN, primera plus, clase ejecutiva
I once traveled from NYC to San Francisco by Greyhound Bus and the journey took three days. After a stay in Cali I then returned to NYC for another three day journey so 27hours is a trip around the block.
I was in a bus from Managua, Nicaragua to El salvadore -17hours for 500km but had to cross several borders.
Never been to Mexico but it is on my list! would love to try those tacos!!
Your suffering was worth something. Burritos and quesadillas have now been ordered, arriving soon. Must reiterate how much I love your Alan Partridge “A-has.” A smile every time 😁
;) 👌🏼
That bus did look very modern and comfortable. And theres always a subway when yer desperate 😊.
But that bus ride must have been heaven compared to the noisy 29h speed boat trip u did in peru, right? Love that u share the ups and downs of traveling!
Yes, you are right 😂 hence why this bus didn’t bother me. Just wish it stopped longer for food
The driver was always the same?
Nice journey mate. All that random stuff they’re selling like wigs, toy planes, etc. on your way to Mexico City is very interesting. I wonder whose gonna buy those random stuff/non-essential items while travelling on the road. 😁
Something must be inside ;)
Non-essential? Pfff. Must be nice if you forgot your wig or huge ass toy plane at home. lol
40p street taco before a 27 bus ride brave man.
Longest bus for me is about 13 hours from Jalal-abad Kyrgyzstan to the capital, Bishkek.
This guy seems like such a princess when he’s traveling… stop complaining about every little thing…
You’ve probably never left your house
Mexico City Rocks, and so do you !
love Cancun, not so much the thought of such a long journey (always been windy when we're in Cancun)
You have to admit, Ben, the bus was a thousand times better than the bus and boat rides in Peru!!
Yes 😂 DEFINITELY
The food and some hotels looks very nice.
The random people selling in the street is the funniest part.
Those toy planes look amazing. And they're probably 3x cheaper than the tiny little toy planes they sell at the airport!
Love your videos, Ben 👍🏻
I appreciate that!
Yes I once travelled across Europe by bus … it took three and a half days.
Phew a video that we didn't have to stress that you might get mugged. Bugger with the bus not stopping for food. Wouldn't want to be diabetic. Great viewing once again
$36.18 USD for that Air B&B is solid. Place seems safe, you walk out to a lanai, and there's a Dead Head blanket!
Once you manage to get to the US you should do the Miami to Seattle bus journey that Greyhound offers, it's 88 hours long with 45 stops along the way 😂
No thanks 😂 but for the content I’d probably do it 🫡
@@BackpackerBen Don't do it LoL jk jk jk there's a lot of tour buses here in the US as well.. maybe do some of the way on Grey Hound. I've been to Portland Oregon but never been to Seattle Washington. My friend just moved back to LA from Seattle. I hear it's beautiful but what's there?
RIP Greyhound is death, is now flix or something like, but a bus ride is nice, but an epic train travel is better even is slow
@@orehsogan8470 yeah, Flix bought them in 2021 but it's still Greyhound to me 😂
I will be doing it very soon!
At 21:37 a preview of Ben's facial expressions in a romp..."that was orgasmic"!! lol Perfect!!!
The guy selling the planes he knew deep down his business would not take off.
😝😝😝 I enjoyed that
The Chapultapec tongue twister didn't phase Ben! Time to go to another country, Ben!
Mate, I would love to take that trip with you! Looks sick! Cheers and enjoy
Sick is the word 😆 💀
Good job on the taco preparation.
27 hours I’ve taken a couple of 15 hour bus rides in Cambodia that were absolute hell but that was about 7 years ago I’ve heard the roads have gotten better since. I wouldve taken the plane not worth the savings to be tired and soar.
"Oh I love Tac-Os especially on a corn torti"LL"a"
