  • HOW TO GROW PLANTS FROM CUTTINGS WITHOUT ANY ROOTING HORMONE AT HOME ..FAST N EASY METHOD
    -IN THIS VIDEO I AM GROWING COLEUS FROM CUTTING PROPAGATION
    DAIZ'S TIP:-choose a branch without a bloom or bud at the top. Cut directly below a leaf node, so the cutting is 4-6 inch long. Cut off the leaves growing from these lowest nodes, or they will rot when buried.Plant each cutting in its own, small, indoor pot. Use a rich, well-draining potting soil, and moisten it before planting. If the soil is not loose enough to push the cutting into directly, use a pencil to create a hole for it.

    I like that you actually explain stuff so beginners can understand, and even when you said root node I was questioning what it was but then you immediately explained it. Thank you!
    I am wondering why you cut the larger leafs in half? after cutting the leafs that will be buried off so they don’t rot
    Can you please explain why? Does it help with the growth?
    I’m going to do my cutting, I hope it works, thank again

      so by decreasing the leaf surface you also decrease the amount of water loss. A general rule of thumb is to remove 1/2 to 2/3 of the leaves. Cut remaining leaves in half if they are large.

    Fantastic demo! I plan to take some coleus cuttings today. They’re outgrowing their containers. I want to prune them to improve their appearance. Extra plants to put in a border is a bonus. 😊

    These are SUPER easy to propagate! I chopped my plant up and stuck it in water for a long time I changed the water every other day and planted them when they got roots. They're all thriving

    Thank you! Very well explained! I have two questions
    1. My Coleus always seems to have buds at the top, how can I propagate when there is always new growth at the top of the plant? The plant is still small and only one stem, should I just wait til the spring to propagate?
    2. Why did you cut the larger leaves in half? How does this help the plant propagate?
    Thanks so much

    • @zareenaraheeman7677
      @zareenaraheeman7677 3 года назад +2

      @Carla Colombon hi! For your second question, I think he cut the bigger leaves so that the plant could focus most of its energy on new growth and leaves :)

    • @vuedanto8576
      @vuedanto8576 2 года назад +1

      Here are your answers
      1. Yes, please wait until it grows bigger, as smaller plants have higher risks of dying.
      2. By cutting the leaves in half, the plant loses some of it's surface area which reduces water loss which in turn keeps the plant alive.
