I wasn’t expecting a rescue helicopter transformer to have so much playability. He looks like he might be among the best figures in the Cybertron line.
I love helicopter transformers. It always feel like they can do a lot with them to me and Evac is basically the accumulation of that feeling. Same with motorcycle transformers.
"Yellow, a bit on the dark side" yeah! Also known as ORANGE!
While it doesn't come out on camera, Evac actually just a dark yellow, but not quite orange
Dark yellow and orange are dramatically different things. That's like saying dark red is also known as purple.
I know but I have seen Evac in real life and it's a lot more orange, but it might just be me!
in bionicle, we know that as keetorange
This is the kind of borderline dark yellow/pale orange colour I refer to as "mango" colour, as the flesh of a properly ripened mango is the same shade...

If I were a Cybertron character, I'd look like Evac cause both of his modes look cool and powerful
I love this guy so much. Great vehicle mode, great transformation and great robot mode.
Evac was my favourite mold in the Cybertron line. Just works so well
Evac's alt mode is an Airbus Helicopters AS-536 Panther configured for Search, and Rescue Missions.
You released a review on one of your favorite Cybertron figures on my birthday, and it is also one of the Four Convoys with the actual Cyber Planet Keys meant for Primus. I gotta say, your review of Evac is the best one specifically for that particular figure.
I was finally Abe to get this figure (as blades). Cybertron was a really good toy line. Too bad we'd never get a figure this solid now.
Based on what I can see here, it would be really easy to make a custom Evac for Combiner Wars (using Alpha Bravo as a base, keeping all the bits, but also adding Rook's grapple arm to function as his winch).

I had this guy! Then I broke him. Then I broke my replacement. But I haven't broken Blades!
Man do the colors and paint apps work so wonderfully well together for this guy. Let alone that the design is pretty nice, and the details, in typical fashion of the line, are great.
I think Galaxyforce was the first series that made the anime an instruction manual. The most beautiful transformations in history were those of the Beast Wars spinoffs (they were frantic and elegant), but they did not serve this purpose, they were made more to be performative and theatrical

I think the cockpit parts on the legs should be able to swivel 180° and fold back to become heals instead of just being there.

Great video, been looking for a copy of this guy that just has unbroken spinning blades... No luck yet but watching this keeps my spirits up that I will find one
I remember the 4 way review of the Springer version of this mold with Ratbat that you did. That and the Rotf Sideswipe reviews were interesting because of the "multiple" viewpoints on the figures. It would be interesting to use a format like that for a plastic addict toy that is really controversial.
This guy in the show reminds me of Rob Riggle, like he would be like this if someone created an original Transformer based on him.
Personally, I prefer the red Blades deco, but it is a very nice toy :)
I'd hope that you'd be reviewing some weird repaint of this mold, but the original color scheme is probably the strangest of them all.

I had this toy back in the day. Loved it, and kinda miss it.
I want this guy mainly for the Cyber key. I have a Primus with an Omega Lock that I never got any keys for. I don't really need them they obviously don't actually do anything. But I just think the Omega Lock would look better if it was properly fitted with the four Cyber Planet Keys that are suppose to be what makes it work. As it is, it's just a chunk of plastic that needs to be shoved in a few holes that unlock transformation joints. Which is fine but there's nothing for it to it to do when I'm not transforming Primus except sit on a shelf. I'd like to actually be able to display it the way it was meant to look.
With the rarity of rescue helicopters, is it any wonder the Universe line repainted this guy as Protectobot Blades?

There is a repaint and remold by botcon called shattered glass galvatron
The transformation hinges for folding the arms back broke on mine, and thanks to my cousin I'm missing the rotor hub, one propeller blade, and the right half of the tail fin. I always think of the winch as Scorpion's kunai, and it doesn't help that their both yellow.
I really need to get a version of this mold, preferably this version
I think this little dude may works pretty good as Cybertron Blackout actually!
I think those series had some some great toys but there was a lot of waisted plastic due to gimics.

They should had made him just orage and white to avoid the patchwork paint. Th could have just gave it blue high lights.

You know what's funny it's about the show by the way, but I always found hilarious that all the auto bots like when they went to the giant planet. Like optimus askes metroplex like we need your cyberplanet key to save the galaxy and metroplex is like I don't know what that is and like 10 seconds later when they fight megatron metroplex is like moar power and calls CYBERKEY POWER. I'm sure optimus would be like 👁👄👁 wut but then the other guy I forgot his name had heard about it lol Emerson restored.

Those kinds of hip ratchets (such as on evac) is one of the things I hate about transformers toys. For those in the modern transformers collecting age who don't know what I'm talking about, I like to call it cw motor master hip syndrome, since it's a relevant toy that people would know about
I take it back on evac's hip ratchet. I've seen worse
The rotor feature on my Evac has a slight problem- it usually hits the cyber planet key port (That bit of plastic) which affects the spin. Mine's the Takara version. Sad.

It just looks orange on camera. Cameras tend to do that when they are trying to light balance.

Hey TJ, did you know Evac's vehicle to robot transformation stock footage had to be re-dubbed? Part of the confusion over his partner's name.
"I'd better get in there to back up Smokescreen. Evac transform!" Had to be changed to "I'd better get in there to back up Crosswise. Evac transform!"

Not that you asked, but it was also used for Blades (Autobot Blades if ya wanna get technical) and Springer in the Transformers Classics Universe 2.0 line. Springer is green, therefore he is the best (...its my favorite color >.>).

Probably not, Lego builders that can make things like that astonish me. I have no idea how they're able to plan out and build the things they do when I'm lucky to get a window on a square house.
