A nice little feature of that Sideways model is the light piping in his head, it's possibly the most effective light piping I've seen in a Transformers toy. Pretty much any lighting behind him makes his visor glow malevolently.
While we're on the subject of Cybertron, what do you think about Cybertron Soundwave? I always thought he was cool looking.

I remember when my uncle gave this figure to me as a kid and I thought it was the coolest thing ever to have a transformer that wasn't Autobot or Decpticon

Ah, I think I get it. Since he wears his gimmicks on his arm, he gets to maintain full articulation.
The description (with the whole "I'm TOTALLY on your side again!") reminded me of a scene from the Jungle Planet arc of Cybertron where the Autobots and Decepticons were playing Keep-Away with the Jungle Planet Key. Vector Prime went after Sideways, and Sideways basically went, "Dude, I'm a double agent, I'm totally working to destroy Megatron from the inside." Vector Prime basically went, "Oh, cool, thanks!" And finally, Sideways went, "haha lol you totally fell for that" and ran away cackling. It was a bizarre scene.

Actually, this was how it went down:
After Sideways revealed his warping ability to Vector Prime, he switched to his Autobot symbol in order to trick the latter's Mini-Con Safeguard into leaving him alone before switching back to his Decepticon symbol to snatch what he thought was the box containing the Jungle Planet Key from Vector Prime.
As sneaky as that play was, it was ultimately all for nothing, as the box that Sideways took from Vector Prime was a dud box that contained a rock.
Finally, a Transformer you reviewed that I owned. I used to love this guy, but I was about five and didn't know what his vehicle mode looked like. I don't know what happened to him, but his weapons do tend to show up in my Lego box sometimes
That face looks a lot like Ultron. I know the mouth isn't a mouth, but the point still stands.

One of my favorite deluxes of all time! So glad you reviewed this guy. Love the character and his toys, but this one is easily the best he got. It's too bad he hasn't received much love in the toy or fiction department in the past decade.
His wing "bow" reminds me of Kamen Rider Chalice's blade/bow weapon that would later be evolved into the Sonic Arrow weapon in Kamen Rider Giam.
11:09 Actually, Sideways did shoot a laser from that shield. It was in the part where Sideways battles Optimus and Wingsaber.
How about Cybertron Soundwave?
Or since he does repaints often in the Random Reviews he could do the Autobot Blaster repaint from th Cybertron Soundwave

Except it's arguably more functional than a Batleth. Not much more though, being that the giant blade is meant for one hand. The Klingon Mek'leth with a proper grip is MUCH more functional than either (wrapping a bit of leather around the metal handle doesn't count).

I like this a bunch! I still have my copy in a storage bin somewhere, missing a hand and a blade. I really need to get him fixed up so I can have him standing proudly again.
I love how each version of Sideways looks completely different. He's not exactly about consistency.

Will say, never looked at his face like that, those nubs on the head, thought those were intended as his eyes and down below a freaky mouth.

Hey TJ? I was reading some other comments and I was just thinking; In your opinion, which is worse? GPS or Potus Manus?
I too like this figure, engineering/ details/ design are all good- for the most part. Meh... I don't know. The inky shade of black, nice dark gold, shiny yet muted silver, and then... Circus Peanut orange blaring out from his forearms and especially his waist. It doesn't match the rest of his aesthetic to me. Still, I like the alien stealth vehicle look of the alt mode and the head sculpt of the robot mode.

Extremely dumb question, but what happens if you insert the Cyber Key while in Vehicle MOde and the shield spike weapon thing is still recessed into the top of the stealth bomber?

Atheon (Destiny) and Ultron ( Marvel comics version) had a child!!! awesome toy. Heading to an old toy shop today so hoping i may see him or other unique Transformers.
He has eyes. Note the two raised nubs above the translucent orange. It's not a visor, its his gaping, flaming, mouth.
Or not. Maybe it is a visor. But try scrubbing that image out of your brain now.
Im sad. i cant find this toy anywhere. I kept passing up on the mold back then.

the wings have a similar shape, to transformers prime megatron's wings, and they also become part of the legs, same as megatron
I think in vehicle mode, the gimmick is supposed to be a lazer bow.
In the show it actually just makes him faster so he can disappear and reappear.

+Slurpee the Great Uh, Scourge in Cybertron was a dragon, not at all RID Scourge... and there's not even a Nemesis Prime in Cybertron so I'm not sure who you mean.

technically there was, but it was essentially a repaint of LeoBreaker to match Megatron/Galvatron's color scheme.

Considering the 2015 Robots In Disguise show is a continuation of Prime, yes, seems they might go down that route. :)

Which is worse for a Transformer to have: Potus Manus Syndrome or Splitting Groin Syndrome?
Buzzing Sign Diner Potus Manus. A split groin is generally unrecognisable as such.
Wandering Bishop Plus split groin can lead to interesting and creative transformations, whereas Potus Manus is usually simply unfortunate and/or lazy design.
