I can see an autobot medic becoming a heavy weapons guy. The tact and patience that goes into severing and sewing cybertronian sinew translates well into crafting only the best kinds of weaponry and ammunition, his intimate knowledge of anatomy would mean he would know what kind of ammunition to use to achieve the best effect, and his desire to protect and care for other people gives him justification to use these weapons in the first place, as well as the reason why he's so heavily armored: he's being a walking shield for his friends. It works perfectly!
cyberplanet key gimmick be like: "yo dawg, i heard you like missiles, so i put a missile in your missile so you can fire a missile while firing a missile."
I really hope we get a version of this in the wfc trilogy. Hasbro could definitely repaint/slight retool earthrise doubledealer into this, at least I think anyway
I think it's about the cartoon. In the Cybertron Defense Team episode, Red Alert's Cyber Key is to open up the 'missile' and shoot a gigantic ray of energy. (The space is for charging up for the blast.) And I think that they wanted to recreate that look, but they wanted the cyber key to actually unlock something playable, so they hid the trigger for the missile inside the big missile which opens up with the cyber key.
Red Alert is awesome. I always loved him in the Unicron Trilogy, he was one of the few characters other than Optimus and Starscream that I really liked.
hmm... maybe his missile is a fancy 2 stage bunker buster? as the missile approach the target, the tip missile with a armor piercing tip fire and accelerate ahead, create an opening before the explosive main charge hit... yay for the heroic Autobots....
I love how he's gone from the medic to the no nonsense war robot. Like all that time he spent with Hot Shot on the Speed planet really pissed him off, "Hot Shot I'm taking none of your s***!"
When the missile is armed and launched, it fires a warning missile, letting the enemy know that they are dead, well the enemy, and any one in a 50 mile radius. Red Alert had too much time on his hand one day.
Thanks. This random review helped me after randomly finding this guy at a garage sale today. Got him for a dollar but didn't know who he was. Finally found the copyright and could figure it out from the date. I'm not as familiar with the Cybertron toys but he's definitely a cool one. Sadly no shield, thus no hammer, and no working lights or sound anymore, but he's still nice for a buck.
is not a missile inside a missile it is a missile that transform into a RAILGUN, so either is a nuke or a concentrated powerful cannon, yeah he needs more guns, because he sure lacks some firepower
"I'm an American, what do I know about weapons?" ...I feel like I would start a huge fight, mostly with stupid people, but that's not a bad thing to have be true.
I get the impression that the closed form of the missile is definitely a missile, but the open form is some kind of oversized "beam" cannon. At least, that's what the wonky sounds have me thinking.
I'm kind of surprised they never made a Hardhead repaint out of this, what with the missile sliding to the side. I got the Countdown repaint. But, dang... I remember this thing being like $30 back in the day. Man, things have changed.
I got this boi second-hand cheap and in an unidentified lot. I'm not super familiar with this era of TFs so I assumed he was an Ultra Magnus or a Fort Max until I looled him up, but uhhh, Red Alert huh? A former medic turned heavy-artilery Red Alert. That is, um, not what I expected.
Well there was that one time where 2 Decepticons surrounded him with fire, and he jumped out in fury and mega-blasted both into the sky Team Rocket style. And that was in his first form in the show.
The plastic on the cybertron defense series was a little brittle in my opinion. To date, the cybertron defense hotshot I have is one of the only transformer that has broken while being transformed.
I guess when they were designing the Cybertron Defence Force trio they hired the Doom Slayer as a temp. Not complaining mind you, I'm now just disappointed I only ever had Hot-Shot as a kid and not all 3.
Finally i remember his name ty i have still have mine from the childhood amd couldnt remember his name so i went on a internet search spreee to just to remeber it name :]
CycloneMetal Not nowadays. With the complexity of this thing, the electronics, and the parts count, it would easily be Ultimate Predaking price for something no taller than a big voyager.
I'll be honest, Red Alert was a horrible name for a medic type. That term is never used in any form of emergency medicine. It fits this figure far better.
I don't have control of what advertisers play. As for the ads playing in general, that's how I make money off these videos to keep the channel going, so I kind of need them.
TJOmega The advertisers should learn to take no for an answer, even if it kills them! Oh, and there's one item you have on ebay that I've had my eye on for some time.
Red Alert's upgrade in a nutshell:
before:
I'm an ambulance.
After:
I'm going to put you and everyone in a five mile radius in an ambulance.
And the sirens are going to be silent when they haul you away
😂

I'm now very much looking forward to Hound's role in TLK. (He's got a red cross now btw)
Old Red Alert: Let me patch you up!
CDF Red Alert: I am heavy weapons guy, and THIS is my weapon!
@@optimistprime3192 it costs $400,000 to fire this weapon for 12 seconds

when autobots take off the kid gloves, you get this
lv99cheater jnhnh
...You should seen Powerlink Optimus used in Armada, talk about OVer Kill. Jetfire + Overload...
The rockets launcher transforms into a giant energy cannon.
The smaller missile actually represents the sort of kamehameha-esque beam it would fire in the show.
Cybertron had the coolest laser finisher moves

screw saving lives, he's taking them.
Save lives by killing other murderers

You need a bunker buster to dent planet size starscream or unicron armored Megatron/galvatron
"He looks like he's been rolling over some Landmines" Please tell me you're not talking about the Autobot...
My friend is getting this for our skirmish table battle
Damn I'm screwed
That light piping is glorious.
This would make a sweet Stalker repaint!
Cyberkey unlocks a railgun in the show
I love how he's gone from the medic to the no nonsense war robot. Like all that time he spent with Hot Shot on the Speed planet really pissed him off, "Hot Shot I'm taking none of your s***!"
Is it bad I read the quote in his cartoon voice?

Wow. I can see why they chose this design for the pre beast body of Beast Wars Megatron later down the line.
I can see this as a perfect Roadbuster figure.
It's a damn shame this didn't end up being retooled into a machine wars soundwave because it's just a perfect match for the mold.
It does look a bit like Stalker, doesn't it?
Honestly with the massive gun I could see a retool to make that an arm and be a Shockwave toy
Doubledealer
Probably my favorite of the Cybertron Defense Force. Nice. :)
I always liked this toy, but I'm pretty sure you can still find some TRUs that have a few of these guys gathering dust on the shelf.
I always think of missile as a rocket and the parts you pointed out as eyes are the windows
I wish they would go to the heavy plastic of these days again.
I think the mini missile was a laser cannon also in the show but yeah real strange
10 years I’ve had this toy 10 god damn years and never figured out you could launch the rocket or the fact this had a sound gimmick.

his vehicle mode could pass as those godzilla freeze rays from the old movies
You mean the Maser tanks? Kinda funny considering Energon actually gave us a figure that turns into a Maser tank.

You gotta defend yourself when healing your team mates.
Can't save the injured if the injurer is still standing over them... So knock down the baddy first ;)
damnit tj now I do see the shark head
this was one of my personal favorites growing up as a kid
Interesting figure, cool and well presented.
The missile reminds me of Soi Fon's bankai.
Great vid TJ! I liked the edited in squeaker sounds.
I get the impression that the closed form of the missile is definitely a missile, but the open form is some kind of oversized "beam" cannon. At least, that's what the wonky sounds have me thinking.
If I remember correctly, the show animation backs up your view.
Show animation appeared to be a beam cannon or railgun of some sort
Good lords. This needs to be added to the next advanced wars game.
I just realized that Defence Red Alert’s missiles launcher/laser cannon kind of resembles a giant needle. So his form is ironically appropriate.
what is, in your opinion, the absolute BEST Unicron Trilogy figure? (Unicron and Primus don't count. why? idk.)
My favorite toy of any Transformer line comes from the trilogy, Cybertron Optimus.
TJOmega oh, thats cool. it was just an interesting topic to me, my favorite trilogy toy that I own is energon landmine, just saying
I'm kind of surprised they never made a Hardhead repaint out of this, what with the missile sliding to the side. I got the Countdown repaint. But, dang... I remember this thing being like $30 back in the day. Man, things have changed.
I agree, but due to the shape of the vehicle mode, I would have gone with a G1 Stalker or Machine Wars Soundwave retool instead...
Now that is really BIG cannon
That’s an HUGE missile cannon on his shoulder
12:17 POST-PRODUCTION 👍
Rule of thumb in RPGs, never piss off the white mage.
i come from the future this guy its now doubledealer
Based on the anime, the Cyber Key Power is supposed to be a rail gun. I guess that a smaller missile is the best they could do to emulate that
if robocop and a cannon had a child it would be red alert
I will be honest not my favorite but I'm glad you did this because it's you
First Gunner. He's not bad.
did they ever do a double deeler repaint/mold of this. cause if so I'll have to look into getting that
Its not murder if its a decepticon
fuck
Nice review. But one question: I think his gun on left arm can remove. Am I right?
I always thought this would be a great impactor
I'm really surprised Botcon didnt make a Doubledealer out of this mold at any point
Well we ever see armada red alert of some form of that mold?
no no no the cyber key dosn't turn your missile into a smaller one it turns it into death ray
LOOK AT THE SIZE OF THAT SLAGGIN' THING
will you sell to people outside of the us at some point?
I always thought that the weapon on top was a giant laser cannon
I dont know why this hasent been repainted as stalker yet

A missile inside a missile.
Why not
I put a missile inside a missile so you could fire a missile while firing a missile!
It's a railgun
Well would you look at that, the entire trio have been reviewed.
Also could you please do a review on a Beast Hunters Figure.
he has done one also most of them are just heavy retools
there go's the roof again.
The toy gimmick doesn't translate well. In the show, his Cyber Key power was an overcharged electroblast fired from the core of the split missile.
I'm guessing it could be like macross and launch a sub warhead
This Red Alert clearly never took the Hippocratic Oath in the event someone pisses in his cornflakes.
Well there was that one time where 2 Decepticons surrounded him with fire, and he jumped out in fury and mega-blasted both into the sky Team Rocket style. And that was in his first form in the show.

I would love this for the Transformers Legacy line
The left shoulder hinge is broken on yours
I guess when they were designing the Cybertron Defence Force trio they hired the Doom Slayer as a temp. Not complaining mind you, I'm now just disappointed I only ever had Hot-Shot as a kid and not all 3.
Seems more like Stalker from the G1 Predator line, AKA "Machine Wars" Soundwave, than Doubledealer.
Medic = one man army
Like a d&d cleric
there not much different from having a Fire Chief play security guard in G1, when Ironhide or Kup are usual choices
Finally i remember his name ty i have still have mine from the childhood amd couldnt remember his name so i went on a internet search spreee to just to remeber it name :]
Whats the Armada Red Alert toy like?
Seriously this guy would've made a good Double Dealer figure.
Have you reviewed beast wars manterror in the past? If not would you? I love your reviews and I think it would be an interesting review subject :)
10:00 now i see
Squeaky Hammer for the win
I like to think Red Alert is a MASER carrier, and it's a cannon that isn't designed accurately
So, he shoots a missile out of a missile. Why?
c'mon, it doesn't get more awesome than that
i think it's suposed to be some kind of rail-cannon thing
Red Alert seems to be compensating for something... (Perhaps a small "USB" in his pelvic area?)
He is the law.
Pandacron LAUHHHWW

Nope. He got a Universe 2.0 redeco into Countdown, who was originally a G1 micromaster.
