    I first arrived in Prescott in 1991 When the old Cornet was still there... The Walmart Between PV and prescott hadn't even been built yet.... and lived on Scott drive near the elementary school.... I lived there for 5 years .. Prescott was just starting to get bigger and PV was still small and the 2 weren't connected yet. ...moved to cottonwood and eventually left the state 1997. I went back in 2013...wow what a huge change. I could only imagine till now...

      There is some crime. Every area has crime. You can check the Prescott police department for crime stats. Unemployment is low in Yavapai county due to many of the people being retired. Homelessness: I have seen a few people in the area but have no stats on that.

      I recommend Dewey-Humboldt Chino valley or places out in the back of Prescott or coyote springs area in Prescott valley if you wanna get out of town

      We have been in a bad drought for the last several years. We usually have a decent amount of snow by this time and it's much colder. I didnt even have to wear a jacket by halloween which is way out of the norm ive lived here since i was 4 by the way

    I've a dually looked up the stats and it's under 50k but who's counting.also can we help to protect our rural areas from massive growth, many of us who grew up here prefer the open space and u touched land, we do t need every square inch of land engulfed in homes and bussinesses, we don't need to be another PHX

    I was born and raised in Prescott and moved to Georgia when I was 15 so I haven’t been back to visit since then! It’s changed sooooo much!! Prescott is an amazing place, I literally had the BEST childhood because of it!
    Do y’all still have the craft fairs at the downtown square?

I’m moving to Prescott and will be working as a faculty member at Embry riddle university, I’m looking for a decent 2 or 3 bedrooms apartment rental near college of arts and sciences... please advice me with prices and location... no car available yet... also advice with outdoor lakes for swimming. thanks.       So far no water issues. Some of the wells in the area have experienced a drop in the water table but no problems with the city water companies. That is why it's important to hire good help.

    I live in Louisiana, to me it sucks here, nothing but rain 80 percent of time, horrible weather, I really like Arizona, wanting to move there because I love outdoors, I am a firefighter so im wanting to know about the fire fighting jobs, and im looking for something that is rural, not in a town or city limits, what would be an average rent and or house cost in a rural area within Prescott outside of the town or city limits?

      Many firefighters live in Prescott and commute to Phoenix. Very hard to get on at any fire departments. The hot shots might be something you could get on with. Good money fighting forest fires. Rural areas you are looking at $150k and up

      Snowbirds? Second houses for Phoenix people to escape the heat for weekends. The snowbirds flock to Phoenix not Prescott.

      A good IT job would be very hard to find. Maybe government or school IT jobs would work

      I dont know of any local RV companies that rent for camping. Phoenix has some companies that rent them.

      Zack agreed some of the area's cost a little money which I am not happy about either. Problem is people litter and take advantage of the area which causes them to charge. All of the trails I go on do not require payment. Out White Spar and all over Groom Creek and Wolfe Creek.

      Pretty conservative. March can get windy. Prescott Valley has a little more wind due to lower elavation and terrain

    Good info, looking to move in a couple years. I love AZ. but have limited my travels to Flagstaff, Sedona, Cottonwood. I have driven through the Prescott Valley but have never visited city of Prescott. I was looking in Cottonwood at some houses/condos but it was so hot it kind of turned me off. I live Palmdale, Ca.it's hot here Lol! Our elevation is approx 2600 feet in town, where I live is about 3k feet. The Temps in summer will get upwards of 110°F.

      Depending on what area you can get a two bedroom apartment in the $750 to $1000 range

      Depends on the area Roger. Prescott proper would rent up to a $1000 for 2 bedroom. Prescott valley will be in the $800 range depending on area.

      Yea the higher paying job market is tough. People make money elsewhere then move to Prescott

      Go to Prescott Police Department and Yavapai county Sheriff office for crime stats. Good paying jobs are tough. Top employers are county government, Yavapai regional hospital, Yavapai college, casino, Ruger guns, Fann contracting.

      Bill Iannelli looks like a great community , but as a 34yr old semi skilled man i doubt i could make as good of a living there , i live in DFW Texas and finding a good job here isnt hard at all , you can make 20$ per hr with a warehouse or truck driving job with decent benefits with little education, theres just so many people , thats the only downside, that and the lack of mountains.       Not many unions Max. Right to work state. My dad was in electrical union years ago in prescott as a electrician

      Beware when buying a house. A lot of them put together with “cowboy engineering”, so need lots of updating to code.

      @@tomneal5913 need work to get up to code? If they did not meet code to begin with the city or county would not have allowed the home to be finished. My experience is the city I'd very strict regarding building codes. The county is a little easier to build with.

    Dude is driving while holding a camera up. This is why AZ drivers are known for their carelessness.
    Just buy a $20 dashcam and talk into it. Same exact thing but with less risk to others, and as a bonus, no shaking, jittering screen for your audience.
    And unlinke driving while playing with electronics, it's not illegal.
    Don't get me wrong - I love AZ especially Prescott, but Jesus Christ man!

      Besides being illegal and dangerous to drive like that, it's hard to watch.

    Good luck finding anything but a dump for under $600-700K. Believe it, I live here! Don’t forget about mentioning an estimated 10,000+ people moving here each year (primarily CA, WA & OR - many wanting to turn this state “blue”), all the druggies & drug rehab centers, section 8 housing, all the new roadside trash, horrible traffic due to lack of roads, all the mega housing development projects, etc... No longer the nice, pristine, quaint town it use to be; and only getting worse!

    I have to question,for Real-estate being so expensive ,the surface roads look atrocious., are the taxes that low?

      They are starting to fix the roads. Especially the downtown area roads. Property taxes are about 1% of the value of your home. The minimum combined 2020 sales tax rate for Yavapai County, Arizona is 6.35%. This is the total of state and county sales tax rates. The Arizona state sales tax rate is currently 5.6%. The Yavapai County sales tax rate is 0.75%.
