I'm 63 y.o. and i still like watching some of these. I loved Schoolhouse Rock. I have it on DVD 📀 , I love Scooby Doo Where Are You, I watch it from time to time. I've been able to see Johnny Quest, on the cartoon network, Smurfs, "Did you say the live in Mushroom 🍄 houses, aren't they also called 'Shrooms? Wonder if there's a connection there? Anyone that comes up with The Smurfs has got to be on something, that and Inspector Gadget, I liked The Wonder Years. I wished I was the middle kid with an older brother and a younger brother. Might have been fun. Ok, I'm done. Have a blessed day, everyone

It was still a series of short cartoons.
Even Looney Tunes, Popeye, Tom & Jerry, Woody Woodpecker, Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck and Casper The Friendly Ghost were shown in theaters before they were packaged as TV shows.
The same animators for Schoolhouse Rock on ABC did the "Saturday Morning Fever is on the rise on NBC" bumpers.

I have a theory about sitcoms- most should call it quits after three or four seasons. After that, characters start leaving, new characters join the cast; writers start doing weird things like having unlikely characters fall in love or at least one female character having a baby. It never works because it loses touch with what made the show a hit in the first place.
A great example is Happy Days which ran 11 seasons. Can anyone honestly say that the last eight seasons were as good as the first three? The writers did everything like introducing Chachi to fall in love with Joanie. They burned down Arnolds and reopened it as Big Al's. Nothing worked! The show sucked.
Dare I say Friends? It was great until the writers decided that all three women should have babies in the most peculiar ways. And cast members falling in love. Just end the damn show. Three great seasons was enough
Any sitcom should have a three year contract that ends with striking the set.
