@@BasedRedemption Abenobashi? Ehhhh, I like a couple episodes but the show has some boring episodes, tries too hard at times, and its ending is probably the worst ending GAINAX ever made for their shows.
Gonna be 34 this April and I know that feel. Watched this when I could stay up late, tuning into G4TV to watch along with Rah Zephon and a couple of things.
I remember watching this like 2 AM at my college homeboy apartment during his early days working for COMCAST and VOD was a new thing! Absolutely fell in love with this show along with His & Her Circumstances & FLCL!
So did ANYONE happen to catch this when G4TV aired it on ANIME UNLEASHED. I just found(and uploaded) the promo for it & it still blows me away that I slept on this show at the time. It really is incredible. Not for everyone but if you vibe with it you’re gonna love it
Yep, that's where I discovered it ages ago and actually went out and made my dad buy me the DVD's because I liked it so much. G4 was a mess, but they had their moments.
This was on cable tv??? I didn’t even know how popular this is until very recently. I just randomly clicked it on an anime streaming site and thought I just struck anime gold seeing nobody I knew even heard of this.
I remember seeing an ad for this in a contemporary art magazine in the 2000s. I just happened to remember it a while ago, but i kept looking up "Nihonbashi Shopping Arcade" 😂
I randomly found this anime 2 years ago while scrolling thru animes on a website and I started watching it but I haven’t finished it yet but I really need to get back on it 😭😭😭
Randomly doing work early morning and then "Abenobashi" just comes to mind. Don't remember jack about this show, but the opening has been baked into my mind for 17yrs. Anime on Demand, anyone?
The prime example of a cult classic in anime. The early 2000s aesthetic is so strong here that it hurts.
any suggestions for anime that are aesthetically similar (besides flcl)?
@@larak877 Mahoromatic, I guess? either that or His and Her Circumstances.
@@peppermillers8361 I fucking love this show. I wish more people knew about it, it's an absolute classic.

@@peppermillers8361 better than eva at least.
Playing Pokemon Leafgreen at like 2AM and seeing this on G4 was like finding a hidden treasure.
G4 had some good anime back.
Underrated show
I remember watching this on TV in the early 2000s as a kid. I’m 30 now. My gosh, the nostalgia.

DestroyTyler This was my SHIT! And that opening slaps so hard!
G4 is how I first came across it. Not only is the anime hilarious and oddly heartfelt, but the dub is stellar.
@@w1nch3ster1 beat part about the dub is that since the characters are from Southern Japan, they got actors with southern accents. It's great.
Bruh such a underrated show
2021 this is still on HEAVY rotation. A hidden GEM!!!

One of the coolest openings in Anime series for sure.
This song always makes me think of Michael Jackson "Wanna Be Startin Something".
Sooo funky!!!
I'm glad I got to see the trailer for this anime enough to stick to my brain
Captions from the first ep and still cool
Arumi is a cutie!
Still the best Serial Anime I've experienced. Ghibli aside.

Treat or Goblins.
I like this funny anime show. 🤭😖😂🤣
(^-w-^)
Pretty good anime but the ending lacks a lot of character development, sort of an unearned happy ending.
I watched this on G4TV and on demand on The Anime Network. Anyone remember TAN?
