About six months, or so, ago, I discovered that Angelina acquired a vocal coach. So, when I heard her sing this song, I was so amazed to see her accomplish what is not an easy register transition, to tackle, for any singer. Her past achievements are already considered legendary. And now, we are seeing this rising, young superstar, climb to levels, that will continue to blow some minds.
Angelina already had a vocal coach for years when she lived in Norway. However, there was a limit how much she could develop there. One reason her family decided to move to LA was to get a chance to learn from the very best vocal coaches in the world. I think her getting a top notch vocal coach in LA is one reason Angelina has developed her voice so much the last year. She now has the confidence to challenge her vocal range with very difficult songs to sing. I have Nothing is one such example.
Borger Borgersen: Thank you for sharing this information. I have often wondered why they decided to move to LA, and not do live concerts, in the US. Now, it all makes more sense to me.
@@vernonpang2805 Angelina has said she feels at home in LA because it's such a cultural hub. She is inspired by being among so many talented people. I think I read somewhere that another reason her family decided to move was to get the proper connections to launch an international career when Angelina is old enough. We see now that her management is building relations to important people like Mark Ronson and Quincy Jones. At the same time they don't launch her career yet in USA. So Angelina travels back to Norway to do concerts in school holiday periods. So Angelina keeps developing her skills without yet having to commit fully to building her international career. Her mother was very clear that Angelina has a school to finish first. However, when the time is right they will do whatever is in their power to help Angelina succeed as an artist if that is what Angelina still wants at the time. So I think she in a good place right now. Her management know what they are doing.

If you watched the Tom Jones song, I who have nothing, several years ago, she was in a closed studio with windows. She waved at the cameraman outside with a thumbs up. She nails these songs before she ever records them. Never mind her incredible voice, she is more professional and intelligent than most people on this planet, and so young. That makes her unique. Hope she does not succumb to fame, stays healthy, lives a clean life......

Her performances live and with a big band behind her are wonderful but for me it is her acoustic performances that really stand out. The guys playing a guitar and just her voice always touch me deeply. So many I listen to over and over again, perhaps near the top of my list is her arrangement of Frankie Valli's song CAN'T TAKE MY EYES OFF OF YOU. Her version is so emotional. This is one of the rare Angelina performances where she goes all-out! She is expressing herself in the song in a way that is unusual for someone raised in Norway. So, when I heard her sing this song, I was so amazed to see her accomplish what is not an easy register transition, to tackle, for any singer. Her past achievements are already considered legendary. And now, we are seeing this rising, young superstar, climb to levels, that will continue to blow some minds.
Angelina already had a vocal coach for years when she lived in Norway. However, there was a limit how much she could develop there. One reason her family decided to move to LA was to get a chance to learn from the very best vocal coaches in the world.
I think her getting a top notch vocal coach in LA is one reason Angelina has developed her voice so much the last year. She now has the confidence to challenge her vocal range with very difficult songs to sing. I have Nothing is one such example.
Borger Borgersen: Thank you for sharing this information. I have often wondered why they decided to move to LA, and not do live concerts, in the US. Now, it all makes more sense to me.
@@vernonpang2805 Angelina has said she feels at home in LA because it's such a cultural hub. She is inspired by being among so many talented people.
I think I read somewhere that another reason her family decided to move was to get the proper connections to launch an international career when Angelina is old enough.
We see now that her management is building relations to important people like Mark Ronson and Quincy Jones.
At the same time they don't launch her career yet in USA. So Angelina travels back to Norway to do concerts in school holiday periods. So Angelina keeps developing her skills without yet having to commit fully to building her international career.
Her mother was very clear that Angelina has a school to finish first. However, when the time is right they will do whatever is in their power to help Angelina succeed as an artist if that is what Angelina still wants at the time.
So I think she in a good place right now. Her management know what they are doing.

If you watched the Tom Jones song, I who have nothing, several years ago, she was in a closed studio with windows. She waved at the cameraman outside with a thumbs up. She nails these songs before she ever records them. Never mind her incredible voice, she is more professional and intelligent than most people on this planet, and so young. That makes her unique. Hope she does not succumb to fame, stays healthy, lives a clean life......

She is amazing. Angelina sings so many different genres of music. Her performances live and with a big band behind her are wonderful but for me it is her acoustic performances that really stand out. The guys playing a guitar and just her voice always touch me deeply. So many I listen to over and over again, perhaps near the top of my list is her arrangement of Frankie Valli's song CAN'T TAKE MY EYES OFF OF YOU. Her version is so emotional. A million years ago, stay, Where do I begin, Always on my mind I keep going back to.

In 2015, Jordan began recording music that would eventually be collected on the six-song Angelina Jordan - The EP, released on 27 November 2017. Many of the tracks were posted to her official RUclips channel[13] well in advance of the EP release, in the form of music videos and lyric videos. These included her covers of Screamin' Jay Hawkins' "I Put a Spell on You", the music video for which was directed by Per Heimly, and Amy Winehouse's "Back to Black", in which Jordan sang her own original lyrics. In November 2015, Jordan published the book Mellom to hjerter (Between Two Hearts), illustrated by her grandmother, Iranian artist Mery Zamani.[15] The book tells the story of her meeting a poor motherless girl in Asia who has no shoes. After a long conversation in which they discuss their dreams in life, she gives the girl her shoes and the girl promises to pray for Jordan to fulfill her dream to become a successful singer. According to Jordan the book is based on a real incident which she cites as the reason for always performing barefoot.
In April 2016, Jordan performed "Fly Me to the Moon" on the first season of the noncompetitive children's talent show Little Big Shots. In October 2019, she competed in the second season of America's Got Talent: The Champions, which was aired in January and February 2020.Her first appearance on the show, singing an original arrangement of Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody", received a "golden buzzer" from judge Heidi Klum (meaning that Jordan would pass directly into the finals). She not only nailed Whitney Houston, a feat in itself, she actually managed to improve on an iconic Whitney Houston song, an even more singular feat! This is one of the rare Angelina performances where she goes all-out! She is expressing herself in the song in a way that is unusual for someone raised in Norway. Just watch how her hands convey emotions appropriate for the song!
Of course that is only my obviously biased personal opinion, but still...
PS. Did you know that the original artist and performer was Dolly Parton? One wonders why Angelina didn't bypass Whitney's version and channel Dolly instead, but on second thought the Whitney version is unparalleled, in fact the only way to go.
