Like many of you, I have listened to many Anjelina covers. She is certainly a prodigy. Her voice is astounding, yet understated, and in the few video's where she is writing things down, or talking to the producers, or conductor, you have a sense that she knows herself well enough to consciously change the music to suite her better. And yet the real difference with Angelina is the tension of contrasts. A girl with a woman's voice, a reverence for classic songs, many created generations before hers. Complicated works of art, simplified in presentation into their purest form; genuine innocence side by side with genuine wisdom, and the uncanny ability to tap into our deepest well of emotions, often ending in a smile and a wave, as if she didn't just do THAT to a song. I don't know what will be lost, and what will be gained as she becomes an adult, but her talent will be honed to a razor's edge, and if for only that, the excitement is palpable.
You should really dig into The First Time Ever I saw Your Face with Angelina. That is probably the best 5 minutes of your life when it comes to emotions. Absolutely astonishing. So simple setup, yet so emotional and powerful in its own way.
Angelina as always goes straight to the heart of the song and sings it back to us. Our hearts hear it a knows it is true. That kind of connection to music does not happen very often, that is why it impacts us so strongly. How she knows its truth is a mystery. We are fortunate we are able to experience it. I like Diana Ankudinova as well, but allow me to say that Angelina can give you everything in a three minutes song. warmth, emotion, love, tears, memories, happiness, love pains and more. She is so good and so unique, her understanding of music and lyrics is unbelievable and paves the way to her amazing singing skills. Angelina is not from another planet but she is definitely the best singer i have heard since....forever.
Diana Ankudinova, like Demash, are voice virtuose ... but they only generate admiration for their techniques... not an once of feeling, swing, passion, projection unlike angelina who give you goosebumps on the first seconds and tears on the next ones !

I'm not sure which version like better musically. Most of the time we can say her song is better than someone else's. But when I do a comparison I think you should ask 'Did the song make you feel something'. When covering Angelina this is the true test and hands down Angelina wins every time. I listened to Dimash's live performance of "The Show Must Go On" and it was spectacular but I love the Angelina version because I feel something when she sings it.
You are really picking some winners for this marathon. I won't say anything specifically negative about Diana, but for me personally, she's got nothing on Angelina when it comes to this song. As usual, Angelina does this song exactly as it should be done (IMO). She keeps it simple, and puts so much natural emotion into it. At just 12 years old, she delivered a masterpiece with this one.
To me the biggest difference between Angelina and Diana is that you can listen to Angelina all day long and just feel better and better with each song. With Diana, you say to yourself, "Wow, that was impressive and unique." But, you don't want to to keep listening to more songs.

I was wrong. This performance is the most emotionally charged one she has ever done. Before typing this comment, I scooted over to Chris Isaak's recording of Wicked Game and then several other singers, just to see how they handled it. Sorry guys and girls, you may be able to read the lyrics and know the meaning of the words but Angelina Jordan is the only singer who "lives" the lyrics and the emotions within them. The only one who can identify those emotions. The only one who can put both lyrics and music together and convey those emotions to the listener. I also watched and listened to Diana's version shortly after listening to Angelina, as in the video there were quite a few comparisons between the two young singers,. In my opinion there should be no comparison between them. Diana is a good singer, within her limits, whilst Angelina has no limits to her versatility. Angelina's singing is raw emotion which truly communicates the emotion of the lyrics. The periods of silence are pure emotional magic.Whilst Diana sings emotionally, in my opinion, she is not "feeling" that emotion but "manufacturing" it for her performance.

This vocalist has already become one of my favorite female vocalists. And I just discovered her less than a month ago. How on God’s earth did i ever overlook this world class vocalist. Watch the drummer go crazzzyyy. ~ Eivor “ free falling” ( the one that’s 6:47 duration. It’s on the island but inside I believe a restaurant seating capacity ( when the camera panned the audience) probably 300 lucky lucky souls to witnessed this beyond amazing performance. She put it on RUclips about 3 years ago and very few views and likes. If she performed it in America and there were 50,000 in attendance , all 50,000 would be screaming and yelling for a long time during and after the performance. The strobe lightening, camera angles, her otherworldly vocal all combine to make this rendition memorable. At the end she hits a phrase that is so celestial so mystical so heavenly that even the great Dimash couldn’t execute with the emotional impact and purity that Eivor does. And a band member on drums was really into it! is a sight to behold. Watch the drummer go crazzzyyy. “Evior sofar True love” ( 5:18 duration) she performed this several times but my recommended version is otherworldly . She hits celestial notes at the end that I doubt not even the great Dimash or Park Hyoshin can reach! Please please please please please react .. ~ Excuse my excitement but whenever I discover an amazing vocalist I can’t control my emotions. When I first discovered Morissette, Daryl Ong, Dimash, ( best pop-op vocalist in the world), Diana Ankudinova, , Park Hyoshin ( best ballad vocalist in the world) , Park Ki Young ( one of the best female vocalists.. as good as or better than So Hyang ), Forestella ( best crossover male vocal harmony group in the world). Lara Fabian... hey smylyface thanks for the reactions not sure i can wrap around a comparison between Angelina Jordon and Diana Ankudinove though they are both very gifted young ladies also they both seem to sing in the darker colors and Wicken Game suits them both because of the lower tones after that similarities to me end Diana is a much more theatrical singer not a dish on Angelina just to me 2 very different renditions of the same song and I loved both I've heard this song before but will have to run the Chris Isacs version again just for comparison for me the Diana Ankudinova version can not be topped I get very emotional with most music Diana singing Wicked Game totally froze me it was out of this world.

Glad to see you are back, Sandy, and thank you for reacting to this song. After watching and listening to every one of Angelina's performance I thought there were no surprises left. Well! I was wrong. This performance is the most emotionally charged one she has ever done.
Before typing this comment, I scooted over to Chris Isaak's recording of Wicked Game and then several other singers, just to see how they handled it. Sorry guys and girls, you may be able to read the lyrics and know the meaning of the words but Angelina Jordan is the only singer who "lives" the lyrics and the emotions within them. The only one who can identify those emotions. The only one who can put both lyrics and music together and convey those emotions to the listener.
I also watched and listened to Diana's version shortly after listening to Angelina, as in the video there were quite a few comparisons between the two young singers,. In my opinion there should be no comparison between them. Diana is a good singer, within her limits, whilst Angelina has no limits to her versatility. Angelina's singing is raw emotion which truly communicates the emotion of the lyrics. The periods of silence are pure emotional magic.Whilst Diana sings emotionally, in my opinion, she is not "feeling" that emotion but "manufacturing" it for her performance.

Eivor “ free falling” ( the one that’s 6:47 duration. It’s on the island but inside I believe a restaurant seating capacity ( when the camera panned the audience) probably 300 lucky lucky souls to witnessed this beyond amazing performance. She put it on RUclips about 3 years ago and very few views and likes. If she performed it in America and there were 50,000 in attendance , all 50,000 would be screaming and yelling for a long time during and after the performance.
The strobe lightening, camera angles, her otherworldly vocal all combine to make this rendition memorable. At the end she hits a phrase that is so celestial so mystical so heavenly that even the great Dimash couldn’t execute with the emotional impact and purity that Eivor does. And a band member on drums was really into it! is a sight to behold.

This phrase has only come to my attention since I started listening to Angelina, but, it is very expressive. That is probably the only way she and her performances could contain all the good and greatness we glean from her performances.

hey smylyface thanks for the reactions not sure i can wrap around a comparison between Angelina Jordon and Diana Ankudinove though they are both very gifted young ladies also they both seem to sing in the darker colors and Wicken Game suits them both because of the lower tones after that similarities to me end Diana is a much more theatrical singer not a dish on Angelina just to me 2 very different renditions of the same song and I loved both I've heard this song before but will have to run the Chris Isacs version again just for comparison for me the Diana Ankudinova version can not be topped I get very emotional with most music Diana singing Wicked Game totally froze me it was out of this world.
