    I wonder why he referred to John’s half Sister as Julia Lennon Baird. It’s Julia Dykins Baird-they did not share the same Father in the Lennon name. They did share the same Mother

    Strawberry Field is a wonderful place, I was there in march on my 60th birthday and was made to feel so welcome. It is not only a great place to learn more about John and his mates, but you're visiting, buying your ticket, having a cup of tea and a piece of cake in the cafe, and buying something in the gift shop all helps to keep this place to keep going and to help them do the fantastic work that they do with young people. So go and visit and keep coming back. Sit in the garden and enjoy the peace as John would probably say. In closing all I can say is God bless Julia Baird, and all the team at Strawberry Field and The Salvation Army for this amazing place, and all the hard work put into helping these kids, you all do a fab gear job. Thank you...

    What a lovely Lady, and a Good sales Lady too. I hope the project is going well. I love Liverpool, the most amazing place. I'm from Sheffield, but Liverpool will always be in my heart. I just stumbled on this, and glad I did. George Michael was so giving, and apparently, helped many people, not just with his wonderful music, but giving to people in need. RIP John and George.

    Always interesting to hear from Julia. She's such a good talker and this looks like a marvellous project. I'm planning to visit Liverpool later in the year and this is definitely on my list.

      WOW!!! That is a coincidence!!! How are you getting through the Vegas traffic 😂 We have Formula One here in less than a week and in February…Super Bowl! Great for the city, just bad for traffic. I live deep in Henderson so it’s a nightmare whenever I do go into the city. Anyways, I just bought Julia’s book and it should be here any day. John is my hero! I wasn’t even born when he was taken from us…I was born in August of 1981!!! That band just keeps going from generation to generation!!

      That is perfectly ok!!! Well, I extend my best wishes to you and your significant other in love, health, and light. My husband works on the strip and has to leave our nest of deep Henderson to travel out to the strip almost everyday, but he starts work at 4am so it’s not so bad as far as travels go. I’m on disability bc I had to have SIX spine operations, but I can walk now. It was so bad 2017-2020. I definitely do not recommend spine surgeries to anyone at all - no surgeries actually; back, hip, neck, knee…nothing where you need replacement or bolts and screws. It’s so difficult to recover. As far as John goes…I did watch The Lost Weekend: A Love Story, May Pang’s recent documentary and I LOVED IT!! Especially seeing Julian at the end - that just made my heart melt!! If you want to keep in touch with me I’m mostly on Facebook. Under Felesha Jones - and of course the city I’m from is Las Vegas. If you’re on Facebook you’re welcome to add me as a friend. I’m such a Beatles fanatic and that’s mostly what I talk about. Have a great 2024!!! 🤍

    John did a lot to help his two sisters but it was never enough and Mimi actually stopped most communication between them by the mid 1970's.

      @farrellmcnulty909 10 месяцев назад +2

      Are you sure about that? I can easily imagine HIS WIFE getting between him and his sisters, but Mimi? What would be in it for her?

    • @bluzzedude8111
      @bluzzedude8111 10 месяцев назад +1

      @@farrellmcnulty909 Mimi was the "conduit" all the way up to John's death. That's who he trusted in the family. After his mother's death he rarely saw either one of them but Mimi saw them all the time. By the mid 1960's, you didn't just "find" someone like John Lennon. "What's in it for Mimi"? John!!

      @@farrellmcnulty909Mimi got between John and his Mother when he was just a child and managed to get custody. It's a long story but interesting if you care to investigate a little bit. Mimi, like her Mother before her, was in charge of her younger sisters and totally controlled them. What was in it for Mimi ? JOHN. She did not approve of John's Mother's lifestyle as she was living with a guy that she was not yet married to. Mimi was a force to be reckoned with. It took a couple of attempts and complaints to the child care workers to get them to remove the child from his home and his Mother. I should mention that when they investigated the child and his home life, all they found was a happy, healthy, well cared for little boy the first time. when they reported this back to Mimi, She informed them of an old law that was still in place that stated a child must have their own bedroom. Mimi told them to go back and uphold the law. There was only one bedroom in the home so the three of them used one bedroom. In those days, (1940's Britain) very few kids had their own bedroom and the old law was generally ignored. This shows just the extent Mimi went to to get John in the first place. What was in it for her to take her sisters child away from her ? Simply because she had no children and she wanted one.

      Lennon bought a house that the girls could stay in along with the Aunt & Uncle that were taking care of them as the cottage on the dairy farm that Aunt Mimi’s Husband owned was too small so I’m not understanding what you are saying. Then when only the Uncle was left that helped raise the girls, Ono ousted him from the home from what I remember reading & first wanted to sell the house & then for some reason donated it to the Salvation Army

      @@farrellmcnulty909I suggest you read Julia’s book, Imagine This, which she wrote in 2007. It is eye-opening. No other source has provided the truth of their family’s history as well as she has. Mimi instilled great damage into all their lives after their mother died. Yoko didn’t exactly heal any of it. It’s a powerful story, told with great emotion and intelligence.

  • @bluzzedude8111

    After his mother died he rarely, if ever, saw them. Sure he did contribute some money here and there, but always thru Mimi. But after 1960..he never saw them. John couldn't be bothered with his OWN son let alone his two half sisters!

  • @Frankenberry1

    Julia and Cynthia(Rip) were and are such fine women. I'm sure If John
    wasn't cut down so young he would have gotten close to his real family soon after. Sadly, I believe Yoko was the reason for his destruction.

    • @revrotunda3206
      @revrotunda3206 5 месяцев назад +1

      John always talked about looking forward to visiting England to see his Family. I don’t think Ono was encouraging it as why were they visiting in Japan to see her relatives where John still hadn’t seen Aunt Mimi as it was supposedly concerns about Lennon not being able to get back in the USA. After he was granted his green card, there shouldn’t have been any problems. However, I don’t think John was actually a US citizen yet

      @joemacaluso4627 He had three sisters actually and a couple of brothers that I know of. His Mother had Julia and Jackie to her second husband however, before them was another daughter named Victoria who was given up for adoption. John's father had remarried and had two sons. So John had at least 5 siblings.
