- Some games use a simplified weapons interaction model that's just basic probabilities. Planetary Annihilation uses a full Newtonian physics based model. If a projectile strikes a target, it's counted as a hit. Regardless of range, or even if the shooter is supposed to be able to hit that kind of target. In this case an artillery bot which has absolutely no anti-air capabilities shoots down an enemy bomber simply because the bomber was in the right place at the right time. Or wrong place depending on which side you're on.
Reminds me of Myth: The Fallen Lords, where this was also the case. Although there weren't aerial units in that.
