In British English, "in" is used for streets. For example, the cafeteria in Oxford Street or the bookstore in Craig Street. Also it will be "At the" airport. Since English reached most countries due to British influence, most people follow British grammar rules.
It is confusing because they use "in Oxford Street" in British English. I grew up with "I live in... Street", and there are a lot of exercises where "in...Street" is considered correct. That should be mentioned in videos like this. But the video is great! Thank you!
In textbooks they use In, in real life On. My Britrish co-workers say that they say 'in the street' only it that street is really narrow, otherwise - on
We use IN when we are thinking about the building itself....Compare at and in:: I was at Helen's (house) last night It's always cold in Helen's house. The heating doesn't work well .(not at Helens house) We had dinner at the hotel. All the rooms in the hotel have air conditioning. (Not at the hotel) Unit 125 from. Raymond morphy book... I have doubt . Mam please explained it🙏🏼.
Please my problem is d number 8. The border between France and Spain must be at instead of on. Because you just explained that exact place takes at not on. Can you please explain to me again. Thanks
I have been studying English for decades now and I still struggle with prepositions. My mother tongue Finnish doesn't give any help here, it has no prepositions at all.
