0ne of the "nastiest" characters I've ever seen portrayed second to her mother showing sincerity, sensitivity, consideration, gentleness etc. I'm thrilled to be watching this episode! 🤗 Her mother; "Oh, for heavens sake!" 😂
Nellie always had those qualities it's just the writers felt like highlighting her moe nasty qualities more often. There are so many times Nellie showed her gentle side though. In the episode where no one wants to dance with her and her little brother Willie they dance together , in one episode she holds Nels hands all the way home and in the episode where her parents almost spit she was genuinely upset and didn't want to leave Walnut grove and her " friends. " Nellie can be a horrible brat but there's a beautiful tenderhearted girl inside as well and she gets softer throughout the series culminating in her being with Percival. The warmth was always there it just wasn't as highlighted and she could be vindictive and cruel. Such is youth though , many of us have been more like young Nellie than young Laura but even Nellie has the same qualities we all love in Laura so much. In the end they were friends.
It's too bad the writers couldn't have them continue to be a couple up until almost everyone moved away at the end of season 4. They were cute but I liked Nellie with Percival more :)
Mind you all this was in the script. She was mean to many more people than Laura, but you have to take pity on her when you meet the monster that is her mother. Suddenly, Nellie is not rotten to the core, but just forced to grow up in a rotten environment that poisoned her thoughts and actions. If she would have been raised by only her Father she might have had a chance of decency.
@@dwightsmith4641 yeah but she turned out pretty nice when she met and married Percival and has the twins and by the time she comes back in season 9 she and Laura are practically best friends
Dwight Smith "...poisoned her thoughts and actions!" Exact! She was very rude, selfish and inconsiderate of the rights and feelings of others, just like her mother!
One of my favorite episodes

This episode was hilarious. Harriet was not going to let Nellie marry a pig farmer,,,,lol
I wonder if Nellie ever told Percival about Luke...🤔
No. You never talk about your first to your second.
To bad her mom didn't approve and make them break up.
Meravigliosi ❤
I liked her better with Percival...
Natalie's Channel yeah,me too!!
Me too. Luke was way too shy and scared around Mrs. Oleson. Nellie needed someone like Percival. :)
Qué lindos

Where is the episode. I want to see it. Would you be able to show that. I saw the end, but I have never seen the entire episode.
Let’s be honest…Luke was better looking than Percival.
Said the spider 🕷️ to the fly
Oh right Bob Marsiac...
This makes me not dislike Nellie anymore but i only didn't like her because she was mean to Laura Ingalls Wilder
