- Charlie Cox (Daredevil, Spider-Man No Way Home) talks to Scott Davis about his recent surprising appearance as Matt Murdock in the MCU's Spider-Man No Way Home with Tom Holland. He speaks about his surprise in getting the call from Kevin Feige, about Vincent D'Onofrio's recent appearance in Hawkeye, and that he expects to be involved in future Marvel projects.
Cox spoke to us during an interview for Kin, a dark and thrilling tale of gangsters who on the surface appear to live ultimate celebrity lifestyle with a world of power, glamour and riches, but underneath lurks a deadly world of drugs, guns, undercover assassins and murder. It stars Charlie Cox (Daredevil, Spiderman, Boardwalk Empire), Clare Dunne, Aidan Gillen, Ciarán Hinds (Game of Thrones, The Terror) and Peter McKenna (The Last Kingdom, Red Rock) as showrunner/executive producer, writer, and creator, alongside Ciarán Donnelly.
Kin Series One premieres on 24th Feb on Sundance Now (an add on subscription via Amazon Prime Video Channels).

he's said so many times that he loves this character and loves playing him and he said that he was heartbroken when the show was cancelled. i am so endlessly happy that hes back as daredevil, he really owns this role just as much as rdj does with tony stark. so excited to see daredevil in more mcu movies and/or shows!!

I feel stupid not watching the Daredevil Series earlier. I just finished Season 3, and my god, Charlie Cox's performance was phenomenal. That's another one of those perfectly casted actors on my list.
Also, can we talk about his smile? That's one of the most beautiful smiles you'd ever see.

I can't imagine someone else playing Daredevil. In the cinema i screamed when he came and i just want to see him again. Charlie was the perfect choice to play him so i am glad that he is talking about No Way Home :)

I remember when it was a rumor and just thinking how it’d be cool but doubting it’d happen with how those Netflix shows seemed weirdly disconnected from the MCU, but I had a Joey from Friends like reaction seeing that cane drop and panning to see Charlie Cox’s Matt Murdock sitting down on the phone in Peter Parker’s apartment. I was in awe seeing Marvel Studios bringing him back for this film.

You know, even though Chris Evans and Robert Downey Jr are kind of gone as Cap and Iron Man now, I feel like Charlie Cox easily fills that void for me moving forward in the MCU. I can't wait to see him interacting with everyone else

@@heyuguys It was awesome seeing him back in NWH. He’s going to also be in She-Hulk, Echo, and his own Disney+ show I believe. I think the events of the Netflix show may or may not be rebooted or in-between because it’s on Netflix and I don’t know if Disney would want to say, “hey, go watch the first 3 seasons on Netflix so you know what will happen here” kind of scenario, it’s a little hard to explain, but pretty much that’s how they probably feel about it.

I just finished Daredevil last night. Didn’t really bother to watch it before until NWH I decided to give it a shot. And OMG was that show near perfect. The story, the performances of Charlie as Murdock/Daredevil, Vincent as Fisk/Kingpin, Wilson as Dex/Bullseye. Daredevil is hands down my favorite Marvel production. No show or movie by Marvel made me feel the way Daredevil did. It was exciting, it was intense, thrilling, Fisk was scary as hell. Awesome show.

I've been a fan of Charlie Cox since I first saw him on "Boardwalk Empire", and I've been calling for a "Daredevil" film with him in the titular role since the Netflix series ended... and in my opinion, it's about fucking time he made his way to the Marvel films division... however shitty I find most of their current IP's to be.
I just hope that if they do indeed make a DD flick, they keep the same gritty feel and atmosphere from the show. Plus the violence and cursing. Remember... they also brought back D'Onofrio's Kingpin, but they seem to have watered him down a bit. So I'm nervous.
Im so happy hes returning as Daredevil but part of my feels disappointed that Daredevil never got to meet Tony Stark, Captain America, or Black Widow.
It was great to see Charlie Cox return and I hope those rumors of him returning for She-Hulk are true!

When I went to see nwh I knew who daredevil was and who was playing him but I'd never seen the show. So now, since I've been in quarantine cuz of covid this week, I've been watching all the nmcu shows (in order of course) and I absolutely LOVE them. I really wish I'd seen them before nwh but ig it's fine

@@sheevpalpatine9487 Out of all the shows (not including the disney+ ones) I'd say my favorite is Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. since I've been in love with it for ages, even before knowing about the other shows.
But out of the nmcu ones I'm not sure tbh. When I try to think of it, Daredevil always comes to mind first, though it might be because Daredevil was my first experience with the Netflix shows. So idk ig 😅
Edit: Also, you know that nmcu stands for "Netflix Marvel Cinematic Universe", right? Cuz aos wasn't on Netflix. Though I wouldn't blame you. I was kinda confused about what nmcu meant at some point too.

Yeah, She Hulk finished filming in August 2021, almost a year ago. He knew by then the projects for his own series too, he wasn't joking when he said that this is gonna be the next ten years of his life.

I was way more hyped about Charlie Cox returning as Daredevil than I was about Toby and Andrew returning as Spiderman. I had already known and heard the rumors so there was no doubt in my mind they'd show up. But Daredevil? The Netflix series that Feige didn't produce and actively said he didn't like. A series that was too dark and violent for Disney standards. I didn't even believe the rumors, because I didn't want to get my hopes up, but when I saw him on screen and flipped the fuck out haha

YES please! In all honesty, Sony Spider-Man aside, Marvel Studios is scuffling since Endgame. The best thing they have going for them moving forward Is Charlie's Matt Murdock.
Doctor Strange Multiverse of Madness I hear will rival Endgame in terms of superhero appearances. Matt Murdock is a great character and stoke for his grand return in the MCU but c'mon...Marvel Studios is killing it last year in the streaming series as well as Shang Chi. They even pick up a couple of Oscar noms this year.

Don't get your hopes up. Charlie is kissing ass to Disney. He doesn't care that Disney waters down Daredevil from the violence now that he's certified in the MCU. Also, Charlie wants to remove season 3 storyline (Reborn story) which is a very good season.
