John Entwistle is so rock and roll. We miss you, Ox. Keith Moon's sense of humor lives on in his daughter -- he'd love the way she made a joke about his death. I'm glad she honored him the way he'd want to be honored. I love the way Pete Townsend combines arrogance and self-deprecation. This doesn't really show Roger at his best, but you've got to respect the fact that when he doesn't have anything to say, he doesn't say anything. There are so many people who need to learn that trick.
The Ox, the best bassist that has ever graced a stage. RIP. Moonie, the wildest drummer who has tried to blow up a stage. RIP. Both so sadly missed. 😢😢
Agreed. After I Can See For Miles, I tuned out on The Who; just personnel taste because I don't like concept albums and hard rock/heavy metal, but between 65-67 they produced some of the greatest 45's ever, one bona fide genius studio album (My Generation), and tracks like So Sad About Us, Circles, Sunrise...so many great songs, it was a small window but they changed so much in such a short amount of time; Meaty Beaty Big Bouncy, get it on and turn it up, genius!
Trevor Mortimer The Who never turned metal. They never sounded like Zepp or Deep Purple. They carved a sound for themselves and I honestly think that starting with Tommy, no one sounded like them.
RIP, to "The Quiet One'....we will miss you more than you know, John. There will never be one like you...and you and Bootsy Collins, are the best bassists, Ive ever heard.
when it comes to live stage performance i'd take the who (all original members) all the time and i'm a huge fan of the Beatles and definitely the who are my top 5 bands favorites.
I am a big rock n roll fan,and the who is without any doubt along with the clash the greatest rock band that came out of Uk,Pete is a GENIUS i must say!!
@David Hasselhoff yeah right like the last time when they won against those Music climbers who only wanted Money Taurus or something I don't Even remember the name of the band zep won fair and square and there was nothing You or either of them can do anything about it 👊
Pete's speech starts at 1:46. He thanks every producer with whom they had to that point worked with the lone exception of Jon Astley. It would appear not to be the result of ill feeling, however, as Astley would co-produce their next recording: "Saturday Night's Alright For Fighting" for the Elton John/Bernie Taupin tribute album Two Rooms.
What I find interesting is Townsend's comment about the Who being so close to NY and 11 years later that was shown to be so true and then again at the Kennedy center honors years after that
The funniest thing to try to Google is "the who banned by american airlines." Google thinks "the who" is a question, so you end up with "the who band banned by american airlines" and still no closer to the answer!
The ox Is certanly One of the best bassista in the world...for me,the best...Keith Moon Is a drummer Who shows that some time, talent can go straight without tecnique.a great drummer indeed
For those of you asking why Kenny Jones wasn't there - look up the rules of the induction criteria. They were inducted based on the recording that made them elligible. Obviously, Kenny Jones was not part of that recording thereby his not being part of the induction.
I Like Towsend He bald now & The Who its a shame that Moon & Entwinte are no longer here because of drugs but we still go Towesend & Dalghuty are still here
Woodstock ,69 Jones was at odds with Daltrey and was out of the picture by the time the Who had their big US tour in 1989. With that in mind I can see why he wasn’t invited.

Pete is a self-proud snob but no doubt he's the heart of The Who.
long live rock long live the Who...RIP Keith and John

John was cool and so calm.

@@finlaybalfour1064 No she doesn't

Keith Moon, greatest drummer in the history of rock ‘n’ roll.
They weren't always consistently great, but at their best, no one captures the true essence of rock n' roll any better than The Who.
Besides Creedence who was always even good.
Engaging Economics Rush
Nobody is consistently great.

Yes, The Who and The Clash = greatest ever
Classy having Keith's daughter there and acknowledging him. Rolling Stones could take a lesson from you
They never took themselves seriously that's why they were so Great and Wonderful.
the greatest rock band ever bar none not led zep not ac/dc none of these great bands even come from close
MrFluidity1 led zeppelin stole their songs.
TheRealCritique classic Who with Townsend, Moon, Daltrey and last but not least Entwhistle are better players than Zep

yeah Pete!!! Pete was a show all by himself!! Now THAT'S A GIT TARH PLAYA!!
Keith Moon would have taken the award, throw it with all force against the wall on the other side of the room and say "It's just a prank bro"
RIP Keith Moon!😢
Wow. It's Mandy Moon.
The Who of All Times, not Beatles,Zep and Stones.
The Who
Punk before Punk, good raw rock n roll, whatever you wanna call it

Roger Daltrey got the Sylvester Stallone haircut
He's a beauty
@woods5671 I can just imagine him leaping up on stage and kissing everyone in U2 and laughing that wonderful laugh of his.
They showed close-ups of John's (0:41) & Petey's (3:21) beautiful profiles, but not Roger's! What gives?
