I did like Becky’s design better, as a student, it’s cool to have wall space above a desk for a pegboard and shelves for folders etc that you can’t get with it above a window, and less of a distracting view so I can focus on studying.

I have just used a frame with the glass in it as a dry erase. You could add tonal fabric or wallpaper or draw grids and make it dry erase calendar, paint chips to make a menu board for days if week-meal planning and groceries made easier and you always know what’s for supper and what to make. Kids did ask what’s for supper and they could help meal-prep. We used one dry erase boards and menu boards for much of the time my kids were growing up. Works fabulous!!! A tip when buying gray: Buy however many gallons you need of white (usually 2), a 5 gallon bucket, a pint of black, a sample size of yellow, green, purple and blue. Gallons are usually $30, a pint is $12, a sample size is $2-$5. I realize it is a bit more than just buying gray but you can mix the perfect gray and have a custom color. Swatch a gallon of your original white. Then dump the white into the 5 gallon bucket. Then dump just a bit of black (maybe 1/4 pint at a time) and swatch it. Then more black and swatch it. Line up your swatched. Now here is the fun part: Once you get the general deepness of gray, take about two cups out of the 5 gallon bucket and pour it into small cups. You should have 4 cups with 1/2 cup of the gray in each. Now add a small amount (a half teaspoon should work of the sample colors into each cup. And swatch each on the wall. If your gray swatches too purple, add yellow. If it is too yellow, add purple. Etc. My husband and I painted our master a very pale gray and mixing the colors ourselves helped us find the perfect gray. Once you found the perfect gray with your tiny cups, mix small amounts of the desired shades into the 5 gallon bucket. You always watch to add small amounts. Our perfect gray was 2 gallons of an eggshell Behr white (right off the shelf), a pint of black, a sample size of yellow and a bit of blue and green. It sounds like a lot of work but it was so much fun mixing the colors and swatching them throughout the room. Plus we could see how the color looked at different levels of light throughout the day.
I'm about to re-paint my 12 year olds room and we were considering Chic Grey! Now I know the colour will be awesome! She has a white headboard and we are doing a statement black chalkboard wall. Lucky kid :)
So the curved ruler thing I actually kinda found... I found a bracelet in a thrift shop that had the cm's market out on it. It was purple and kinda vintage like. You guys should deff diy those!

I really enjoy seeing you girls take a space and making it a room. You break down the elements into doable parts that make a dream room totally achievable!
So pro tip for the future, or if you wanna diy your own headboard: use French cleats instead of d rings. Easier to hang (as long as everything is level), it also sits more flush and won’t shift around on you :) some d rings can actually pull apart if you don’t use the right size, so French cleats are safer!
i liked Kelsey's layout better, because it has a good fengshui (except the mirror facing the bed), and it has a really good circulation too, but also i liked becky's idea of the circle rug (cause juxtaposition) and i also liked the 2 desks pushing into one.
Wow the headboard with the sconces really stepped up the room by a lot! The shiplap wall was already a beautiful room detail and the headboard was perfect to match! One of my fav rooms you’ve done for sure - the grey was perfect
I like how it gives the room owners options to choose from, rather than just surprising them with a layout /design choices that might look good, but not be what the owner would have preferred. ...I know this is YT room makeovers, but out in the real world, if you paid professional designers to design a space for you, they would generally give you 3-4 different layout possibilities to choose from to start with and then design around that. So I like how the 'competition' where they come up with very different designs gives more variety and choice opportunities. ...And I don't think they feel that competitive about it... My guess would be that they communicate or even consult with each other whilst designing, in order to make sure that they don't come up with two designs that are too similar! 😋

This is one of my favorite designs y’all have ever done!! Way to go ladies!
This 16 yo girl look so much older than me and I’m 19.
I'm 22.. and she looks wayyy more mature than me lol
@@mariamkhan3833 it's okay, she's mature, is that a problem
Don't read it in a rude tone tho😅
@@mish3916 haha nuu i hope i don't come across as rude either.. shes really pretty imo
@@mariamkhan3833yes she is, it's okay, wasn't rude 😅😃
Wow the headboard with the sconces really stepped up the room by a lot! The shiplap wall was already a beautiful room detail and the headboard was perfect to match! One of my fav rooms you’ve done for sure - the grey was perfect
OMGGGGG this is when I saw you guys at IKEA AHHH!!!!!! SO COOOOL! 😍😍 HIII! Haha
Omg I have the oil diffuser that that put on the table next to her bed! 😱
This was most definitely NOT in my subscriptions box for today 🤬
Omg, Kelsey's hair looks SO good! I love this style
I still think y’all shouldn’t be competing because both of you have such great ideas that would ultimately create a lovely living space! Just sayin’!
Becky is so excited in this video. Maybe because her design was chosen? She's so cuuutee.
Kelsey's forehead makes a rare but appreciated appearance. We stan
This was such a good makeover! Well done girls!
24:22 Did she lowkey hit the woah? lol
I was thinking the same thing lmao
Best room ever I want this room!
The colored are so clean and the rug 😍😍
Love the room!
Totally random but Becky where did you get your hat? I need it!
Wasn't in my subscription box either but it showed up on the recommended. Glad I saw it, love your videos so much. This gave me minimalistic farmhouse vibes and i'm living for it! Also Emily's long hair is so beautiful :) Kelsey and Becky gorgeous as always!!
did the whiteboard diy bug anyone else? like they could have just left the glass in and it works as a whiteboard.
🙋🏼♀️🙋🏼♀️🙋🏼♀️
I think those IKEA frames are some kind of acrylic, not glass. Dry-erase on acrylic can get smudgy/stained over time :(
They had to tho because crayola was the sponsor.
Well i did a glass dry erase board like that and it fell and the glass broke ☹️
Plexiglass leaves a cast once marker is erased
Wow...this room looks freaking gorgeous !!
Love this room!
For some reason this wasnt in my sub box?? 🤷🏼♀️
I lovvvved the headboard + light sconces
Thats odd. I have the bell notification on to get all of your video updates and didnt get a notification for this video. just saw it in my suggestions rather than my inbox!
This Style Selected episode was less cringy to watch at the selection point and I LOVE it!! I like the cutaways to the studio where you go over each design and how you showed the sisink choice that Emily made 👍
