Seeing it live is like everyone putting all their hatred into the air but it's more of a "FUCK THIS PERSON" vibe than an "Everyone hates everything." vibe.
i have listened to dodie's first version of She so many times but hearing it again years later in its raw form just reminded me of all the emotions i felt the first time i heard it ugh this whole thing was so frickin good
I used to listen to it right when I found out I was gay/ in love with my best friend who was straight and now it’s like,,, so raw to me. And when I found out she was remaking it and putting it up on like Spotify I cried
@@riley6726 big frickin moodddd omg yeah i had a similar experience where i had a crush on my friend but i was too afraid to confess my feelings bc she had so many other things going on in her life and i though i would be a burden and whatever but yeah the song She really helped me though that whole experience too. i feel u dude
Georgie Crocker-Smith it’s such a terrible situation to be in but honestly you will get over it. I had been friends with this girl for 10 years and it took me about 5/6 months to completely get over it. At the time it feels like it’s going to last forever but it honestly won’t. You’ll look back on this in a year and wonder why you were so upset
I love Monster because losing a friend like that is such a relatable thing. And it hurts when it’s someone who was important in your life so to have a song that understands that hurt is amazing. I love music and I love dodie.
All I want is a studio version of Monster I will sell my leg for a studio version of Monster I don't think I can wait a week hhhhh Update: just listened to it for the first time and holy heck it's better than I thought it would be amazing job dodie 11/10 would scream lyrics again
When Dodie released She on her RUclips channel I was about 16 years old and OMG I listened to that song over and over and over. Now I’m 20 and I still listen to it over and over and over.
“she” is probably the only same love song i resonate with.i have no idea why it speaks to me so much but it does.the whole thing reminds me of my first time experiencing having feelings for another girl and every lyric is brilliant.thank u dodie❤️
I continue to be impressed by Dodie's musicianship, which is under-stated, and her songwriting abilities. Her voice is pure and her intonation is precise. There is also an honesty about her songs, which reflect her experiences and her character.
I really enjoyed this little event. Dodie is sweet and great as always, the host seemed really interested and nice. The whole atmosphere is just so pleasant!
So glad that Dodie herself explained the change of feeling in old vs. new version of Human! ^_^ You know, what's funny is that Sting wrote the song Every Breath You Take about obsessive, sinister love (if you pay attention to the lyrics, you'll notice), but half the world still thinks that it's a wonderful, happy love song...😅
that is honestly so amazing to me. i remember when everyone knew her from she, and it was her signature song. i'm so glad you got to experience that beautiful song
I started watching a bunch of Paste Studios sessions after going down a rabbit hole of Willie Watson videos - I never realized that dodie did a session! (yeah, I have every eclectic tastes in music)
And I only discovered it this morning! Dodie indeed has an instrument that is easy to transport and terribly remarkable: her voice and her confidence in singing! She has so much to say. Thank you for making the lives of those who listen to you so beautiful. You are beautiful. I notice that this technician places his microphones as a painter would place his touches of color on his canvas. Thanks everyone.
woaw i fell deep into this session! Kind of like meditation, i'm extreamly relaxed now and at ease, but also a bit sad, that it's over... not a bit... very sad actually...
i love how you can see her getting better and better with each ep. songs like absolutely smitten and would you be so kind were just like happy little ukulele songs but now there are so many more interesting themes and there’s so much more to her songs. she’s developed this great unique style and i love it. i really hope there’ll be an album next
I completely adore this video. The live performance was the best I’ve ever heard her sing. You can tell how much Dodie’s voice has improved over the course of her career. Although every one of her songs are brilliant, her newer songs have a lot more body to them and you can tell that she’s feeling more present and less distanced by the sound of her voice. She has a lot more control over the pitch and the volume she’s singing at nowadays, flowing between each syllable and note more seamless than ever before. It’s not often we hear her singing completely live, this one was perfection.
I LOVE ALL Dodie songs, but "If I'm being honest" hits me SO hard in the spot! She sounds like Elton Jhon's piano meets Sarah Bareilles' sweetness and Adele's writing skills. She's A M A Z I N G !!!
The interviewer asking about whether the subject of Human had heard the song felt in poor taste. She had just said she thought the song was a bit obsessive and made her cringe, and his question essentially was just asking if she still had a relationship with this person, which for a love-esque song is always going to be a touchy topic. I know she sings very vulnerably and it can make us curious about her life but it felt out of place in this concert and it seemed to make her uncomfortable.
Dodie you are really amazing ❤️ you inspired me so much to keep trying, to get out of my comfort zone and start posting my own videos! Thank you so much 🍓I will upload a cover of would you be so kind on Tuesday and I would love some support/feedback. 😊 I'm so glad I found your music and the people that came with it!

Seeing it live is like everyone putting all their hatred into the air but it's more of a "FUCK THIS PERSON" vibe than an "Everyone hates everything." vibe.
"Oops" that was so cute! Matched the vibe of the song 💜💜

FiftyShadesofToast somehow I read “bottom” 😭😂
I read bacon. Must be a British thing :)
Her voice is the musical version of ASMR
If Taylor owns the breakup song, Dodie owns the unrequited love song.
this
‘She’ brought me back to my fourteen year old self who had a crush on my friend

Who was sing the little violin and cello part In "if I'm being honest" when she said "could you love this" cause i was 😂
Me too 😊
Bum bum bum bum
Same HAHAHAH
I was going to sing it but then i realised that the cello sounds were missing so my head blocked
"she" always reminds me of when I was a couple years younger and crying wanting a girlfriend. How easy the world was back then...
Love this and omg I forgot how long dodies hair actually is.
I really liked the hosts commentary and questions
i can NOT wait to jam out to monster on the daily
her cute little "thank you :)" at the end of every song is so adorable
oh she's just such a lovely person

It’s like dodie’s possessed by a sweet soft magical music fairy she’s so good! Wow! How does she do it like actually!
Hearing all these songs reminds me of how they sounded when I was lucky enough to see dodie in London
This makes me so happy
I really enjoyed this little event. Dodie is sweet and great as always, the host seemed really interested and nice. The whole atmosphere is just so pleasant!
Dodie’s way of writing songs is wonderful and I wish I could write with such imagery and beauty 🥰🥰
