I will forever associate this song to the afternoon I drove to the sheriff's office to pick up a copy of the police report pertaining to my brother's death. There was an actual downpour of rain the whole drive and this song came on the radio and indeed I was looking for the answers to my brother's suicide and hoping the police report would help with the answers my sister and I were looking for. My other brother and parents still have no clue that I received a copy of the report. Just my sister knows. Suicide leaves so much to question especially when it is out of one's character, so unexpected no one wanted to believe my brother would do it, some thought murder. All in all after reading the report I know for certain he did commit suicide and it breaks my heart that he was in such a deep state of despair that he did not see a way out, and with the negative stigma attached to depression I'm sure he was too embarrassed to seek help. No one should feel ashamed. Depression is a silent killer and untreated depression is the #1 cause of suicide. My brother's suicide has opened up my eyes to the reality of depression and how severe depression can torment some people and they cannot see the light, only the dark envelopes their whole being. We need to be observant to those we cherish and be there for them and let them know they are not alone and if they need a professionals help that they are not weak and sometimes people need a little assistance to get past the dark days and to not feel ashamed. Talking or writing about my experience actually helps me with the healing process.
Regina Legaspi I lost a brother too, to different circumstances but it’s something I wish upon no one loosing a brother and best friend is too hard, there’s nothing we can do. Like my brother would tell me “when things get hard chin up chest out and you punch life square in the mouth and take it for a ride”
This song got me clean off of heroin. I’d play it and sing it to myself everyday while in rehab. I was just lookin for a reason to change, and hoping my girlfriend (now fiancé) was looking for a reason to stay

literally everyone has an emotional connection to this song, i mean how can't you? it reminds me of the time i first heard it, thinking nothing of it and then listening to it again right after 1 year and it just reminded me of 2018 and the different and weird shit that went down, all those emotions, and the feeling that its over now, like an aftertaste and i kind of feel sad when i think i have no one to share this song with, somebody who has an emotional connection too and would appreciate it as much as i do.

I had my first kiss to this song and it was perfect. I happened during the part where it says " you were only 17. So sweet, with a mean streak, nearly brought me to my knee" and at the time I was 17. Still got that mean streak though ;)
This song, the first time I heard it I was on my way home after my fiancé’s funeral . His brother was driving me and started to play this song . I was so lost and hearing this song it felt like they had followed our entire relationship and made a song. The good, bad and ugly; every word hit hard. Every second felt like a year. We both bursted into tears and at the moment we were being pulled over by the police . They came to the window saw the state of us and let us go . To this day I still do not know why they pulled us over.
I heard this song for the first time at 4 am, recovering from a mental breakdown/panic attack, it was in fact, pouring rain outside. I got no sleep that night, I just played this song on repeat. Now anytime it rains I listen to this song and even though I kind of associate it with that bad moment, the song makes me feel hopeful.
everyone's got something to associate this song to, right? so here's mine. this was my dad's favourite song around the time my parent's got divorced and my mom moved out, and they would either played it after they fought, or it would be playing while they were fighting. And I was young when this was all happening, so my mom had to explain what this all meant, and this is what was playing when she told me that she didn't love my dad anymore. i couldn't listen to this song for years without crying before the first verse. now it's one of my favourite songs, and i've listened to all of cte's music and they are one of my favourite bands. and instead of being sad, my dad hears me playing this on my guitar and he smiles.
cage the elephant is the hardest working band going if you ask me, they write great songs over & over & over .. etc thank God we have these dudes! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
cage the elephant puts the good kind of pit in my stomach. the feeling you get in the middle of family events or hanging out with your friends. The feeling when you’re homesick but you’re at home.
It all started last year in October. So we were going to the Pilgrimage Festival. I loved Weezer and going there for them. So my dad said we were going to a band called Cage The Elephant. I said who is that. He said the band that played the opening to Borderlands. I was so exited, but I had no clue want songs they had made. So a week later we went. I thought CTE did good. I had so much fun at Weezer. A Month past i'm going to my cousin's house 3 hours away. This is when it sparked. I was listening to Cage The Elephant. I listened to so many of the songs. I started to listen to CTE everyday. So in December I showed my dad it and we both love it. CTE is my favorite band now.
Reminds me of the first time I fell in love, we were 17, it was brief, but I’d completely fallen for her. She made me feel in two months what my previous girlfriend had never once made me feel in 2 years. I really really did love her, things just weren’t meant to be, and part of me sees it as right person wrong time, but those couple of months were still hugely special to me and I know no matter what happens I’ll never forget her, this song will always remind me of her
when I was 17 I fell in love with an exchange student from Norway, we date for two more years but an ocean in between is just to much, that was 24 years ago. every time i here this song I think of her, first love like the other dude said
fuck dude I really wish I was there I wanted to see them this year in August, but all live shows are postponed until next June. Cage the Elephant is a really really good band to sing to in the rain.
5 yrs ago when I was a struggling college student, I was listening to this song with a cup of iced coffee. I'm not sure why or how but for the 1st time I really felt contented and happy that i'm alive. I never felt it again until now but when I listen to this song atleast I remember that in that moment i felt a genuine happiness.
Everybody has a story about this song, and this amazing song will be my masterpiece always because it shows me my past, friendship, memories like my all life flows away in my mind. Ahh, I'm lying on the bed just looking at the cloud and crying thinking about happiness sadness disappointed, dreams, relations like all my photos become vivid and unforgettable
I saw them perform this this year at Shaky Knees music festival. The funny thing is it started pouring rain, and everyone stayed through the entire show, and the band was so surprised and happy that everyone stayed. And I am 17, and in the rain this song meant so much more than it had ever before.
This takes me back to my time spent downrange. My buddy Drane had just discovered I knew how to play guitar and I’ll always remember what he said to me verbatim “Romero if you learn this song for me, I’ll cry” haha. I remember getting some of the boys from the company together and jamming out from time to time haha. Just a little slice of normality for us when we needed it the most. Here’s to the memories I made with y’all. Operation Spartan Shield Apache Company 4th Battalion, 6th Infantry regiment. REGULARS!
The love of my life brought these artists to my attention, befittingly. I feel him when I hear this song, which feels like electricity; super-charged, emotional charisma...the way being alive feels.

The first time I heard this song, (6 years ago?) I woke up to a giant monsoon at 6am in AZ, schools were shut down, a mass flash flood. Radio announced it then played this song. Drove to work, and pushed carts at Walmart for 8 hours on a weekend on New Years Eve (with hardly any staff). Eventually came home with trench foot, and drank and set off fireworks with lots of family (nieces/nephews). Still one of my favorite memories of all time, and brings me back to the day everytime, driving to work at 6am in a flashflood. I listened to this song multiple times throughout that day. Forever thankful the radio played that song at that exact time. The power of music.
I'm inlove with a guy, and this is our favorite song. I don't think he knows how much I love him, or if he returns the feelings, but this song will always be his❤
I unfortunately associate this song to one of the darkest times in my life but hearing it brings me some sort of peace and it's such a good song I'm just of addicted at this point.
Even though he definitely does not have the best singing voice in the world, there's something so raw in his voice and it's highlighted specifically in this song. It's just so beautiful to listen to his voice
i forever associate this song with all the night drives we had going back to your house, with one of my legs over yours, holding you hand, with my head on your shoulder and yours on my head. but this song hurts most when it was one of the last few songs we listened to together before i found out a month later you were moving to switzerland. you still mean the world to me, and i miss you more than anything michael, i love you.
I'm amazed how so many ppl here are connected to this song in different ways. As for mre, it will always remind me of this time in my life. Now I'm 17 (almost 18) I always look to find who I am. I think I know now. This song makes me feel free and the line "looking for the answers in the pouring rain" really describes my journey of self-discovery.
This song is heart-warming. I feel understood and at the same time I feel like the best is yet to come, the best feeling ever. I also wanted to say that it's so cool to see you guys telling us your story about this song.♥️
This song always reminds me of my teenage years maybe it’s because it’s the first ever song I discovered by myself and fell in love at one listen I literally listened to it continuously for months I don’t even understand how I still can’t get tired of listening to this song…time really flies by a lot but nevertheless I always come back to this song once in a while🤍
Love this band soooo much, this version is even better than the original. Great job! When will you guys be selling merchandise? I would love to have a shirt or stickers!
This song reminds me of my 17th birthday when my best friend and I skipped class to go to a nearby park. It was 9am and we were the only ones there. We danced and sang and swung in the swings. Best day ever.
Ever since i started liking this guy at work, my anxiety has reached a new level. It was either i sleep too much or i couldnt sleep at all. I couldnt eat and felt nauseous. I was terrified to go to work. But one day i woke up with this song playing in my head. When things go bad in my brain, i just listen to it and the voices and nerves are silenced.
I think its funny that evryone associates this song to an emotion, a memory or a future dream they want to happen, in the 18th of march ill be 17 and i hope by that time my life becomes better and hopefully ill be out of my abusive home and abusive father. Anyway cant wait to hear this song in 10 years look behind and smile at my past
Somehow time flew by and i am now a "boomer". I never heard this song until tonight and its a classic for me. When i first heard the band i compared them to Blind Melon and didn't listen to much of their music. I was a diehard Melon fan for years. I saw them for $7 at a bar called Blind Tigers, it was small and perfect. Anyways, this song is so damn good. It would fit right in with the 90s.

Got your wish again lol
I unfortunately associate this song to one of the darkest times in my life but hearing it brings me some sort of peace and it's such a good song I'm just of addicted at this point.
I will forever be in love with this song, and the person I connected it to....
Even though he definitely does not have the best singing voice in the world, there's something so raw in his voice and it's highlighted specifically in this song. It's just so beautiful to listen to his voice
This is my new favorite band!
I could listen to this band for hours
six years
te amoooooo
minha religião ❤🎶
HELP.. je cherche le nom du morceau en intro à la guitare .. de 0:10 à 0:20
i forever associate this song with all the night drives we had going back to your house, with one of my legs over yours, holding you hand, with my head on your shoulder and yours on my head. but this song hurts most when it was one of the last few songs we listened to together before i found out a month later you were moving to switzerland. you still mean the world to me, and i miss you more than anything michael, i love you.
COMO EU QUERIA Q ELES FOSSEM MAIS CONHECIDOS... pra virem fazer show aqui nos BR :00

Or your baby made for this song. Maybe we all have a song made for us somewhere.

I had been listening to CTE for a while, but I met this girl in my art class that introduced me to this song. I will be forever grateful

This song reminds me of my 17th birthday when my best friend and I skipped class to go to a nearby park. It was 9am and we were the only ones there. We danced and sang and swung in the swings. Best day ever.
Q musicao da porra
Ever since i started liking this guy at work, my anxiety has reached a new level. It was either i sleep too much or i couldnt sleep at all. I couldnt eat and felt nauseous. I was terrified to go to work. But one day i woke up with this song playing in my head. When things go bad in my brain, i just listen to it and the voices and nerves are silenced.
yes, f $$kin yes and yes again. fucking yes
We have more Cage The Elephant coming your way soon!
+The Wild Honey Pie yeah, that would be something to look forward to, id loose sleep looking forward to it haha

I love so much this song
I think its funny that evryone associates this song to an emotion, a memory or a future dream they want to happen, in the 18th of march ill be 17 and i hope by that time my life becomes better and hopefully ill be out of my abusive home and abusive father. Anyway cant wait to hear this song in 10 years look behind and smile at my past
Beautiful
The original recorded track was giving me chills. But somehow this version is even better,,,,,,,,but its one ear and right out from the other :D
Herman Petrov that's awesome!
Yess
If I could share this video 1,000 times I would.
Me acalma e ao mesmo tempo me sacode todo.
🇧🇷
his voice is so beautiful that made me cry TT love this one
Insisto en que deben de sacar Melophobia para el iTunes mexicano.
When you fall in love with a villager in your Animal Crossing town
And then they want to leave
His voice gives me chills🥰
This song reminds me of a very toxic relationship with my ex, and everytime I hear it I think of her. I still love the song and I don’t rly know why.
Forget about her
This songs remarkably handsomely beautiful delightful too. Thank you kindly for your sing sincerely.
Am I crazy or were they playing the "Send me on my way" intro?
