Appreciate the view thanks!
My first SUPER THANKS $ thank you so much!!!!!
Cut it right in the middle of the ridge and put a “T” in. It’ll help with the sag. It wouldn’t have to be in the middle and you could put a couple of them in if it’s really long span. ✌️Cool
Great easy idea adding support. Thanks for the view and taking time to comment!
If you put a length of metal pipe in the pvc you will eliminate the sag
Good point, thanks
Built one almost identical for my 1436 Alumacraft. Except 3 fittings, one for the bow, one for the stern, and I added one "T" post in the center for extra support, otherwise all 1 1/2" PVC. Dang thing still cost almost 50 bucks, but it's perfect!!! Thank you!!! Keep up the great work SR! Subscribed!
😂 yeah pvc ain’t cheap anymore. I really need that extra T and post in the center but mine is still working great. Glad yours is working well!!
Thank you, sir, because I sure need to cover my boat inexpensively.
Thank you ready to fish.
Awesome thanks for the view
Mine melted in the summer. I built one out of 1.5 inch and it melted too. I might try a piece of conduit through the middle.
Wow I haven’t heard of pvc melting just due to summer heat. Usually pvc has a meeting point of 185-200 deg. I haven’t had an issue but mine is 3” so a lot thicker. Did it visibility melt or just start sagging really bad? Thinner Pvc will deform when hot and under a load
Nice solution. I might try this and see how it holds up to Alaska snow. What about putting a 2x4 or two on end under the ridge pole, screwed to a short horizontal piece to make sure it would won't fall over? The top end would hold up that ridge center pole and keep it from sagging. I think to keep it from slipping off the ridge pole you need to cut a shallow V into the top end of the 2x4 and/or drill a hole and lash it on with some twine to keep it in place
Yeah I think that is a good idea. Depending on how long you boat is you may not need additional support, but 2x4 vertical support would work perfect esp is there is snow weight. Maybe jigsaw out a slot for the 2x4 to sit in and screw it to the side. My first though was to just bolt it the the side but afraid it would rub the cover. Best setup probably would be to put a pvc T and have a pvc vertical support but it’s more $$$.
Just subbed your channel. Cool stuff gona try it.check out chubby butcher thanks
Awesome channel man. Thanks
Great and short and to the point. I’ve just watched a dozen videos and yours is the best! It’s the easiest and simplest plan out there. Thank you.
Wondering what you would do if you needed more support midway along the ridge-line? I have a very heavy tarp.
Thanks so much. Just subscribed. 😊
I really appreciate view and support! Mine sags a little bit as I said in the vid but it really doesn’t impact it at all. I would try it without and additional support first. Then if you don’t like it I would add a “Tee fitting” in the middle of the ridge line and add a vertical leg/support. Let me know how it turns out
THANK YOU DUDE!!!! A nice and easy solution. I can finally get rid of my bucket
lol yeah it’s been great. My cover did lose its waterproof coating after 2yrs and it started leaking through the cover. I actually used rustoleum leakseal rubber coating on it and it actually worked really well to waterproof the cover again lol
I love the drain plug sign. I forgot to put my drain plug in last weekend for the first time. 😂
lol we’ve all done it! Hit the gas and beach it 😂
Thanks for sharing this. I have been looking for something different for my 14 jon boat than what I have which is made with 1x3s and 2 blue tarps but the thing is so heavy getting it on and off the boat which is kept on a trailer and with a bad back its getting to be a pain, for real. This looks like the deal though.
Yeah you should try this, it’s really light. Also I am loving my Harbor Master boat cover.. it’s super cheap and had held up great!!! here is a quick vid of the cover ruclips.net/video/bQqCKYRm6CM/видео.html
Will use this for my pelican bass pontoon boat - Thanks
Awesome let me know how it turns out.
Got value. Going to camp in boat - hard times. Thanks
lol 😂 yeah makes a good tent
Just made my day !
Lol, glad a Jon Boat Cover video brightened your day :) hopefully this works for you. Was a life saver for me bc I was looking at spending $600 to build a roof beside my shed.
Thanks for the tip brother!! I’ll be doing this to my boat in the winter.
Thanks, hope it works for you!
Nice! Looks super simple and pretty cheap!
Super easy and works great
Just what I need. Thank you!!
Sorry I missed this comment! Thank you for the view glad it helped

I like it a lot, it’s about $60 too but it seems a little better
nice video
Thanks! I appreciate the view!
Coleman crawdad. Nice.
Yeah man I am loving it. I’ve got a couple other vids on my channel with the Crawdad on the water with a 6hp Mercury. Check em out, love that combo!
@@Skinnyriver i just sold mine not too long ago. It was a good boat for many years. Finally dragged a hole in the bottom. Fixed it though. I always just leaned mine up againt the house because it doesn't have a drain plug.
My buddy was going to take it to the dump and I took it and cleaned it up. Yeah I added a drain plug, was getting annoying trying to get water out of it, but I love it with the 6hp
@@Skinnyriver Awsome!! I took out the plastic benches and put in some 2x8 and mounted removable seats with post. It worked great.
straight to the point..great advice. thanks from ireland. going to make this.
Hopefully it works for you! Thanks for the view
