I continue to be underwhelmed by the tech they say is going to make video handling faster

my cpu usage tends to spike up to 80% while my gpu stays around 10-15% utilization even though i’m using studio and have GPU acceleration enabled. any tips?

What OS are you on? Windows and Linux will let you see what processes are using the GPU

I have the opposite issue, my cpu reaches 10-15% and my gpu reaches like 50-80%

Under Preferences >> Memory and GPU make sure GPU Selection is NOT set to AUTO then select only your dedicated GPU card.
Also remove GPU Processing Mode from AUTO. Choose CUDA or OpenCL according to what your card supports
This solved the issue for me

How do I know I am also using GPU's full potential during rendering
And how to use both please share settings

This may be a basic or “dumb” question but…. What components in a computer make faster render times? I’m going to be working in producing proxy media for films (dailies) and I want to build or buy a computer that will make these renders run as fast as they can, I don’t care so much about playback speed of the 4K, 8k, 10,000k raw files, I just want to put them on a timeline and render them out ASAP into the proxy files requested by the editors/assistant editors.

A modern, powerful GPU will be step 1. Fast disks (nvme) would be 2nd most important

Actually for 265. U need faster cpu. 12 or 13th gen. No need exp gpu

    Hi sir,
    I have i5 9th gen cpu
    8*2 g.skill ram
    Phantom rx6700xt gpu
I'm newbie to editing and when I rendering always cpu goes to100%
Gpu is less than 10% in resolve studio 18.6.2
    What can I do

      Earlier I used pro edition
That driver doesn't supported resolve studio so I tried adrenalin edition.
Not only in resolve other pr and ae have the same problem

My CPU usage spikes to 100% as soon as I even move on my timeline but my GPU usage is at a stable 10-25% why is that? I have a 5800x, GTX 1650 and 16gb DDR4 3200mhz and my footage is 1080p 60fps 20000 kbps bitrate

    • @JustinGarrison

It’s probably using CPU to render. Check your settings to make sure

Does 265 takes longer time than 264? My 65 minutes 1080p 60 FPS video taking around 7 hours. What to do?

    • @JustinGarrison
      @JustinGarrison  11 месяцев назад

It sounds like you’re using the CPU not GPU. 264 vs 265 depends on what hardware you have to accelerate it
