@@igolf906 thanks. Shouldn't be too hard. He just wants it red. I'm going to do a spray paint job keep the original inserts and then cut down and regrip
@@BJK13 Just clean and prep that head as good as possible to get the best adhesion for the paint. And if its just standard spray paint, believe it or not, give it a good week to cure.
Thanks! Honestly started with just wanting to mess around with my own putters. And with not much help (at the time) from any type of content on RUclips, I sort of just did everything by trial and error. Got a lot of tips down the road. But eventually just started this channel to maybe help others learn also.
I appreciate your hard work on this mini jailbird it looks exceptional! I think yours is much better looking then the big one that everyone is buying I hope you got good $$$ for it. I was told that if I did this to my mini that paining it two colors was double the charge because of the work…do you feel that’s true now that you painted yours?
Thank you. And yes it was at least twice the work. It turned a 2 1/2 hr paint job into a 5-6 hour paint job. Because each color has to be prepped, painted and baked for 2 years, and needs to be taped off in-between colors.
As much as I love my Newport, I just bought a Stroke Lab Black Rossie with the star microhinge insert. Excited to use it. The old school Rossie shape is one of the best swinging putters for me personally so had to get another decent one in the rotation.
Lol. Thanks a lot man. Hoping to have the Newport finished within the month so. Keep an eye out! This is probably the most excited I've been over a project.
It's to add weight. What's not smart about it? This particular putter was done to replicate Rickies, so that's what I did. Just a few strips of tape can completely change the swing weight of the putter. So if that's what you would like or are fitted for 🤷♂️
@@igolf906 ah ok, thought so... But a putter has to be nice and functional (in my opinion). Don't get me wrong, I like your videos a lot but this putter looks ugly when it sits in the bag.
@prototype43608 to be fair it should have a headcover on it if it's in your bag 🤷♂️ So you won't see the sole. Plus the person who bought this loved it and paid a lot for it so. Everyone's preferences are different.
I feel it is pretty well explained with out me having to talk through it. But that is just how I make my videos. 🤷♂️ If you have questions on any part of the video, feel free to ask away!
At the 6:32 mark the 15 minutes is referring to the flash time not the bake time... 😅 a little mix up there.
That looks amazing! love the contrast of the black and white with the splash of red in there. Great job!
Thanks!
You did an awesome job as always!
Thanks!
This guy is an inspiration. I'm about to customize a 2ball blade for my son and I'm nervous. But this video makes me feel better
Thanks a lot. Just take your time, you can do it for sure!

Stunning work

Awesome job! Maybe for the next one you should try red and white, that would look dope
Just found your page and immediately subscribed. Really curious where you learned this trade. Your talent/skill is amazing.

Nicely done!
Thanks
That was beautiful man.. that slab of lead will weather nicely with use and time. Do you play it?
Thank you! I don't play it no. Figured it was a hot putter for awhile so wanted a crack at imitating one!
Great job !
Thanks
Great work you are the best
Thank you!!
Do you have link to lead tape you used ? Or specs ? Width weight etc ?
amzn.to/3MvFoxE
This is what I used.
great work! mustve been a blast doing this one.
A little tricky but yes, fun!
Always thougt the O-works weights were removable on all models. I changed out the weights on my #7 for heavier ones!
I thought so too until I dug into it. Doesn't make sense to me to make weights just for looks.
Looks great regardless! Nice work again
Could you do this to the same exact club if I sent you one? Don’t think I have the skills to do this myself lol
Not currently taking any more putters in. Possible come late fall I may start up again.
Understandable, I mean hey you literally gave a step by step instructional video on how to do it I can at least try it out haha, Thanks! @@igolf906
Are these a .355 or .370 tip size?
I believe they're .370"
I have a 2 ball fang, the microhinge is the best insert.

do you ever do hosel changes?
I send that type of work out. As like my center shaft Newport I posted not long ago.
Impressive
Thanks!
Tease is over. Well this one anyway. I wanna grow up to be like you

@@igolf906 what should I use if I don’t have a costco card?
@@dannybrant6758 🤭 whatever is in your pocket at the time.. that's what I did.. lol.
I can not get over the face insert being fixed with just double tape
That's how it came from the factory 🤷♂️
did you reuse the insert ?
Yes. The beginning of the video showed where I used boiling water to get the insert out properly. And also, epoxied it back in at the end.
If you actually watched the video, you would get the answer to your question.
Maybe I dont get it, but what is the idea behind this lead tape? Its really not the smartest idea in my opinion

Rickie’s wasn’t a o works 😂
Obviously.... I was just creating a replica.
