The lyrics are very strong! But, if people did not have any translation, and if they sang at the beginning of the competition, their chance went done. Because they are good singers, appearance ok, music ok but nothing really special. The lyrics are the vertebral column of the song. But I didn't see other singers, so, I can't compare.

The song is good musically speaking but the lyrics piss off our legs. It is paroxistic, ideological advocacy of migrantism and a fantasy of migrants saying "thank you" that the "West" saved them. In real life these people just put their feet on the bus chair, speak loud on the phone and show hatred for the society that greets them.

Même si on s'attendait à un meilleur classement, nous pouvons être fiers de leur prestation. Ils ont défendu avec brio nos couleurs. Et puis, terminer 13ème avec un score de 173 points, ce n'est pas catastrophique. Il y avait 26 pays en lice et nous figurons parmi les 13 premiers. Moi je ne considère pas cela comme un échec. Bravo à Madame Monsieur.

Non, je la trouve prétentieuse. Genre, regardez "On participe à l'Eurovision, et nous les gentils, on fait une chanson sur les migrants." Un peu moralisatrice. Et à l'époque, j'ai trouvé ce duo Madame Monsieur prétentieux, au point qu'on pouvait penser que si on n'aimait pas leur chanson, c'était que l'on était forcément contre les migrants. Du reste, bon, d'accord, la petite fille née sur le bateau Aquarius appartenant à l'association SOS Méditerranée d'une mère nigériane, qui arrivait alors à Catane en Sicile, en Italie, où sa mère et elle ont été placées dans un camp de migrants s'appelle Mercy. Mais la mère a dû se tromper. Elle a cru qu'en anglais, cela signifiait "Compassion", alors qu'en réalité, cela signifie "Pitié" ! Ce qui est bien différent. Alors, Madame Monsieur ont cru avoir une très bonne idée à la fin de la chanson en disant "Mercy, Mercy, tout va bien, merci". Mais dans le fond "Pitié, pitié, tout va bien, merci", c'est l'inverse de ce qu'ils souhaitent dire. C'est ça quand on n'est pas doué en anglais ! Mais l'attitude des Madame Monsieur laissait penser qu'eux les gentils avaient fait cette chanson pour les migrants, et que ceux qui ne l'appréciaient pas étaient forcément de méchants racistes contre les migrants L'année d'après, même chose avec la chanson de Bilal Hassani "Roi" écrite, comme par hasard, par la chanteuse du duo Emilie Sattonet, et qui était moralisatrice à nouveau, mais cette fois sur le thème de l'homophobie. Bien sûr, trop de gens sont homophobes. Mais faire une chanson de gentils contre l'homophobie en disant que si on ne l'apprécie pas, c'est qu'on était forcément un méchant homophobe, ce discours médiatique qui a accompagné la révélation de cette chanson m'a aussi dérangé.

For some reason I can't get my head around, both European voters and juries don't like to give points to France, UK and Spain. These countries can take some comfort in knowing they deserve more than what they get: if a smaller country had released this song, it would have reached top 5.

La chanson italienne surfait plus ou moins sur le même thème
Non, je la trouve prétentieuse. Genre, regardez "On participe à l'Eurovision, et nous les gentils, on fait une chanson sur les migrants." Un peu moralisatrice. Et à l'époque, j'ai trouvé ce duo Madame Monsieur prétentieux, au point qu'on pouvait penser que si on n'aimait pas leur chanson, c'était que l'on était forcément contre les migrants. Du reste, bon, d'accord, la petite fille née sur le bateau Aquarius appartenant à l'association SOS Méditerranée d'une mère nigériane, qui arrivait alors à Catane en Sicile, en Italie, où sa mère et elle ont été placées dans un camp de migrants s'appelle Mercy. Mais la mère a dû se tromper. Elle a cru qu'en anglais, cela signifiait "Compassion", alors qu'en réalité, cela signifie "Pitié" ! Ce qui est bien différent.
Alors, Madame Monsieur ont cru avoir une très bonne idée à la fin de la chanson en disant "Mercy, Mercy, tout va bien, merci". Mais dans le fond "Pitié, pitié, tout va bien, merci", c'est l'inverse de ce qu'ils souhaitent dire. C'est ça quand on n'est pas doué en anglais ! Mais l'attitude des Madame Monsieur laissait penser qu'eux les gentils avaient fait cette chanson pour les migrants, et que ceux qui ne l'appréciaient pas étaient forcément de méchants racistes contre les migrants
L'année d'après, même chose avec la chanson de Bilal Hassani "Roi" écrite, comme par hasard, par la chanteuse du duo Emilie Sattonet, et qui était moralisatrice à nouveau, mais cette fois sur le thème de l'homophobie. Bien sûr, trop de gens sont homophobes. Mais faire une chanson de gentils contre l'homophobie en disant que si on ne l'apprécie pas, c'est qu'on était forcément un méchant homophobe, ce discours médiatique qui a accompagné la révélation de cette chanson m'a aussi dérangé.
