Heroes get remembered but Legends never die
True and even us 80s babies know how much he meant to the league thanks to NFL films and ESPN..
You damn right man!!! RIP #32
Rest In Peace Harris, we lost another legend but we will always remember you 🕊
Exactly RIP
Rip
When we lost him?
Hes still alive
Hes alive in our hearts! When i was a kid i wore 32 in the backyard neighborhood football game more than any other player.
Nothing has ever brought the city of Pittsburgh together more than the Steelers of the 70’s. Complete strangers could be like brothers when rooting for the Steelers and Franco was the player/person the city loved the most. And he has always treated Pittsburgh and Pittsburghers with love and respect. He was an amazing man.
The “strangers” part has passed on with his passing.
There will never be another like Franco.
I'm from Indonesia. When Steelers announced they're going to use throwback jersey of 50th anniversary of the Immaculate Reception, I went and looked it up, and Franco Harris is the key man of it. That was around two days ago. Life really is unpredictable.
Rest in Peace Franco 🙏
Growing up a Bengals fan, hate and respect were synonymous. I hated those "Steel Curtain" Pittsburgh teams, because they were so damn great, but I respected them even more, and Franco is/was a part of the respect I have/had.
He seemed to be such a humbled, nice person as well. I was in tears when I heard the news that he had passed away, especially before this upcoming weekend when he was to be honored.
He was one of my late mother's favorite players, and that adds to the sadness of this all. R.I.P. Mr Franco Harris, you are/were truly a legendary man/player, Godspeed sir...🙏🏼...
I was a kid in the 70's and I will go to my grave believing that the old AFC Central division of the Steelers, Browns, Bengals and Oilers were the toughest division of that decade. Before the Steelers could take on the likes of the Raiders and Dolphins on the road to the Super Bowl, they have to play their other division rivals twice each during the regular season.
@@davester1970
I definitely agree with you Sir👍🏈
@@davester1970 I totally agree. Go back and look @ the AFC Central's standings through out the 70's, and you'll see that it was no cakewalk for Pittsburgh during that time.
They earned the right to play in all of those playoff games they participated in, and playing the other three teams twice got them prepared for playoff battles.
That division was brutal then, and I'll cherish memories from that period of time for the rest of my days here on 🌏...
Rest In Peace as a bengals fan even though we were rivals you were insane
Edit:Ty guys for the likes!
yes sir
Thank you man your a Class Act!! Much Respect bro
@@jonathankubacki7446 Thanks bro have a good day and happy holidays!
As a lifelong Cowboy fan I despised the Steelers, but he was a BEAST!!! RIP Franco...much respect from a diehard Cowboy fan!!! The 70's was the best era ever in the NFL.
I miss the dirty uniforms, the tough as nails players who stayed loyal to cities and teams for their entire careers
RIP Franco. True legend of the game.
RIP. My favorite back in the 70's !!! Everybody loved Franco !!!
Ill never forget Franco Harris as a Oilers fan, he was truly one of the best when i was a child i was scared to see the steelers coming and he was one of the reasons why. He will be missed.
Funny that you mention your oilers from back then. Franco was my back, but Earl Campbell became a pretty close second to Franco. Running back was my position, so these guys were my absolute favorite players in a league that had so many great rushers back then!
born and raised a steelers fan. thank you mr. Harris for everything you’ve done for this franchise🙏
I will never forget you went out of your way to sign my Franco Harris jersey a few years ago. I'll never forget me telling you how big of a Steelers fan i was and how much i respected his game. I'll never forget you smirked and softly sai " i appreciate your loyalty, this fan base is a huge family."
😥😩😭😭😭
R.I.P legend!!!! 🕊️ 🕊️ 🕊️
Doesn’t matter what team you cheer for… greatness can be appreciated and respected across any league, sport, or country! Thank you for the inspiration Franco!!!
Condolences from a Tom Landry-era Dallas Cowboys fan.
Rocky Bleier was my favorite Steelers RB during those Pittsburgh Super Bowl
years, but I have to say that Mr. Harris made me cry almost as much as the 1960s Green Bay Packers did.
What a great player he was, and what a great RB tandem he and Bleier made.
R. I. P.
Franco #32 Harris
God bless our pro football heroes from a by-gone era.🏈
Rest in heaven 🙏 you played the game very well brother
Heartbroken,RIP to one of my childhood heroes
As a kid in the 1970s, I loved the NFL, and even though never a Steelers fan everyone loved Franco. A class act that will be sorely missed RIP
Rest in Peace.. #32 will never die in the hearts of Steelers fans that saw you play in the 70’s, A life, a job a legacy. Well done Franco!! Rest well.
I grew up in the in Houston during the 70's. As a huge Houston Oilers' fan I despised the Steelers (for good reason). Those were always great games but they just got the best of us in the playoffs. I couldn't stand any of their players. As I grew older though I learned to respect them as a great team as well as their players. By chance somehow France spoke to my high school class (in Houston) in the 80's. I had a chance to meet him. What a gentleman. He was a hall of fame player but a very humble person. I learned that he and his team respected the heck out of my Oilers during those years. Football and the world lost a great human. Rest easy Franco.
R.I.P. Franco. One of the all time greats.
12/21/2022 Mr. Franco Harris. An Exemplary player, never in the tabloids, never complaining, a gentleman steam roller. RIP.
I'm happy for Franco, he can finally meet the angel that put the ball in his hands that fateful day and thank them personally.
Franco was truly blessed. Was given so much power on the blink of an eye and used it the best he could. There's definitely special places in the afterlife for people like Franco Harris. Rest in peace man youre work is done.
Just a shame he had to leave this earth (2) days before the 50th anniversary of the immaculate reception and a ceremony to honor him and his catch. He was the king of RBs and one of the best. So nostalgic looking at these old football films and it brings back so many childhood memories watching the kings from the past. Rest in peace Franco and thank you from a NFL fan.
One of the greatest to wear the black and gold and a legend of the Steel City. We’ll never forget the Immaculate One. Rest easy, Franco.
Rest in Peace, legend. This W this week is for you
Legends Never Die 💯💛🕊🕊🙏🏽
this one play showed me to never ever give up. That their is always hope even at the last moment. This catch made the sport of football bigger than the sport of football!
RIP Mr. Harris 🙏🏽
Immaculate Reception. Greatest play in all of sports and I'm a Patriots fan. RIP Franco Harris. You live on forever.
R.I.P. Franco Harris. Thank you for all the wonderful football memories and great charitable work you did for the Pittsburgh region.
I was born Nov 24th 1972 few weeks before that iconic play, two years later steelers would win there first of four superbowl in the seventies...RIP to a legend
Damn. Just days before the 50th anniversary of his Immaculate Reception. RIP General of Franco's Army. 😰❤
Top 20 RB of all-time, key part of a dynasty (more Super Bowl rings than any other RB is NFL history… plus a Super Bowl MVP), Man of the Year award recipient (demonstrating his excellence on the field, leadership and humanitarianism) and… I am certain, so much more as a man, son, father, brother and husband. God bless.
I teared up all day today. As a kid, I was a Pittsburgh Steelers fan and the first Super Bowl I saw was Super Bowl 13. I'll always remember Franco's 22-yard TD burst in the 4th Quarter to give the Steelers a 28-17 lead over the Cowboys. Long live the memory of Franco Harris.
Love watch Franco Harris as a kid back in the 70s…RIP Mr Harris!
Rest In Peace Franco Harris. Forever a legend 🙏🏾❤️
I'm not ashamed to say, as a Bengals fan, the Immaculate Reception is one of the greatest plays in football history.
Like roberto clemente, the legacy of Franco Harris will never be defined by what he did on the playing field, but how he carried himself and lived his life OFF the playing field, your Italian army and all of Steeler Nation mourns your passing, RIP 🙏
I honestly think Babe Ruth and Franco Harris are 2 of the largest sport legends to ever live. Franco is definitely one of the top several sport legends of all time. We Steeler fans owe you so much thanks. Miss you Franco
Oh man, I just found out. So sad. Much respect to Mr. Harris from a lifelong Cowboys fan. He'll be missed.
R.I.P Franco harris a true legend and I’m a bengals fan
I loved watching the SB commercial celebrating the 100th anniversary of the NFL & Franco Harris re-enacting the immaculate reception. My favorite part….RIP #32 You will always be a hero/true legend to so many who love & play the game. Blessings & prayers to his loved ones & his family. 😢🙏🏼🙏🏼😢
Even as a bengals fan,I still cry. Rip Franco harris.
Thank you for everything #32 you were my late father’s favorite running back and I remember him telling me about him and the immaculate reception and how everyone talked about it in the city of Pittsburgh when it happened. My dad was 20 at the time go figure maybe he can talk with you in heaven now Rest Easy Franco ✊🏿🐐
Rest in Peace Legend. Found out about you while playing Madden 20, opened me up to your greatness. One of the all time greats.
I don't know if I can truly put into words what Franco Harris meant to me, but I'll try. My dad, was born and raised in Pennsylvania coal mining country. He grew up dirt poor, but through hard work and perseverance, he got his college degree and became an Air Force officer. He was a Steelers fan, even when they were one of the worst teams in the NFL. We moved around a lot when I was growing up and I hadn't formed an attachment yet to any particular team. Fast forward to December 23, 1972, I'm 11 years old watching the Steelers/Raiders game on TV with my dad, who wouldn't give up cheering for his team even when it looked like the game was over. Then the Immaculate Reception happens! I swear to God, I don't think I ever saw my father so joyful as he was on that day. We hugged and jumped and danced around the living room. It was one of those amazing father/son bonding moments I'll never forget. That was it. I was hooked and in an instant became a lifetime Steelers fan. In the 1970's the Steelers were the quintessential team of the working class. Rocky Bleier was a Vietnam veteran and Franco Harris was the son of a WW II veteran, which really meant something to our military family. Franco also transcended race. We still have quite a ways to go in this country in terms of accepting people for who they are, but in the early 1970's my impression was that America was combatting worse racism than it does today. Although he was of mixed-race heritage, Franco appealed to, was loved by, and perhaps maybe even identified with, every ethnicity, every color every person. He was a humble gentleman on and off the field. Fifty years after I saw that playoff game with my dad, it still seems like it happened just yesterday, and I'm still a Steelers fan. Always will be.
Rest in piece Franco love you forever man💪🏾
My boyhood hero is gone and I'm in shock. Franco spoke at a Rotary Club luncheon my dad took me to in the early 70s. He was so much more than a football legend to me. RIP Franco!
He came to a retail store I worked part time in. I did not know in advance
that he was to appear. I look out the window to see him walking toward the
store, and I'm thinking, that guy looks a lot like Franco Harris! And it was!!
He signed autographs, and posed for pictures. All in a hostile Bengals &
Browns store. But there were plenty of Steeler fans to greet him. I got his
autograph somewhere, he signed his name with the #32. I just found out that
we both were born in the same hospital! Did not know this until now.
A true great, absolutely heartbreaking RIP
Truly sad to read this news,...#SteelersNation mourns an Immaculate Human who made the greatest play in NFL history on, for me, the greatest dynasty. I'm glad @steelers are retiring his number... RIP #32 🏆#Immaculatereception
Every NFL Hall-of-Famers will always be remembered. Never forget the iconic moment of Franco Harris against the Raiders and the one who started the Steelers Super Bowl dynasty.
Rest in Peace Franco Harris (Age: 72).
RIP the greatest era of football. We listened to the immaculate reception on the radio in Pgh and the announcers were so shocked they couldn't describe what happened. We just jumped on the bed and screamed in joy
A sad day indeed, but he will always remember Steelers nation forever #32
A very humble man of the people. You would have believed he was born and raised in Pittsburgh. You will be missed.
Greatness can never be forgotten.
RIP legend🪦💔
Edit:I’m a Bengals fan but still Rest In Peace🙏
RIP big guy..so privileged to watch Mr Harris growing up..omg.."the immaculate reception" xo 🙏❣️🇺🇲
RIP Steelers legend
True Football Legend. Great man. RIP Franco.
thank you for all of your hard running !!! :( :( :( May You Rest in Peace !!!
Part of one of the greatest teams of all time. More important a great man RIP Franco
As great as an NFL running back as he was. What is overlooked sometimes is his humility, help to those in need (homeless, helping out Najee at the homeless shelter) and never in a hurry. Always had time for the "little guy." Double legend.
RIP Legend. It's a shame he won't see his jersey in the rafters.
His Jersey was on the field winning games.
Shocking and sad news about his death, right before he was to be celebrated. This Bengals fan respects him and those Steelers fans who suffered through so many losing years before Mean Joe Greene and Franco joined the franchise. Condolences to his family, friends, and fans. He was part of what made the NFL so great.
Rest in peace forever a legend
From a lifetime Vikings fan, you're a legend. Loved watching you play. Rest in peace.
Damn! RIP Franco Harris!
I remember my father being a huge fan and hearing his name all through the '70's. RIP🙏🏽
Franco Harris and the Immaculate Reception was what made me a Steelers' fan. I met him at a banquet as a kid in the late 70's. I was scared to talk to him and he noticed it. He went out of his way to show me not to be afraid of him. It was an awesome moment for me!
RIP Franco!
RIP Franco Harris we will miss you 🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️🙏🕊️🕊️🙏 the immaculate reception 🏈🏈🏈🏈🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤💛💛💛💛💛💛
Rest in Peace Franco, thank you for inspiring me to keep pushing 😭
I remember my first Steeler Game as a kid, my father and I passed a statute of Franco Harris and he told me about the immaculate reception. 10 years later my brother's name is Franco. R.I.P. 32
Amazing..R.I.P🇮🇹🙌🏽🇺🇸
I was born and raised in a small town near to Pittsburgh. When Franco passed away - a LOT of my friends from home posted Facebook photos they took with Franco - random meetings from over the years - from a sidewalk in Pittsburgh, a shopping mall, a restaurant, Penn State games, you name it.
It got me thinking about ALL the extra time he took for fans over the years. He must have been stopped and asked to snap photos a dozen times a day - or more. Yet he took the time with many, many fans - with patience, class, and in good cheer. That alone is quite a thing.
All the legends are passing away from this era that I watched as a kid. Was never a Steeler fan but I had much respect for his talent. No doubt one of the best,
Truly saddened by this.
A true gentleman has left us.
The great Franco Harris leaves behind a legacy of excellence, and love.
What he did will live forever.
Thank you, Franco.
May God bless you.
R I P he will always be a legend🕊️
RIP Franco Harris. Steelers Legend. Us Steelers Nation fans will always miss you
This man heartbroke a whole team
Yo Bradshaw. This man was a key component in your legacy. Good times. Rip Franco Harris
Great man. Great football player. Great Steeler!!
RIP LEGEND!!!
🖤💛🖤💛🖤💛
Thank you for everything
Sorry to see him go. My dad said he played back when uniforms got dirty.
RIP #32. Franco was a great one. He and Rockey Bleier were Fantastic together. When “Mean” Joe Greene says you are great, it is gospel in the Steel City.
I was born and raised in Pittsburgh (Mt. Lebanon Township, 1963). So, it was so wonderful to grow up and experience the great Steelers team of the 1970's. The Steelers went on to lose to Miami the following week. But, Franco's great play and the Steelers first playoff win was the gateway to a true dynasty that brought the Steelers 4 Super Bowl championships in a 6 year span during that decade.
I feel the same, Randy. Wilkinsburg
That was an amazing catch WOOOW 💯🙏🏽💯🙏🏽RIPFRANCOHARRIS
RIP to this legend
Im devistated. Thanks for the 4 rings Franco.

RIP Franco Harris 🖤💛
As a Miami Dolphins fan,Thanks for the memories Franco. You was amazing.RIP
Remember watching the immaculate reception game as a kid.. those were some of the best games in the NFL ever, Raiders/Steelers .. Great Stuff 👍
Love me 70's football and Franco Harris. Classy guy, used his size to his advantage while avoiding getting hurt. I don't ever remember Franco laid out on the field. Clutch player with a knack for finding the end zone. And of course one of the best big money Superbowl running backs of Alltime. Franco Harris will always be Mr Steeler in my mind.
This hurt rest in peace to a legend
The 70s steelers greatest machine ever created.guys with class and morals.r.i.p.mighty franco.
R. I. P. Franco Harris. Forever a Steelers and NFL legend.
