Very disappointed that they didn't play the whole tribute on live tv. Hopefully, someone at the stadium recorded it and will post it. RIP Franco. A legend and even more than that.

Franco as a Raider fan you broke my heart when you caught that ball and you're broke it again when you passed away this year rest in peace you were a Class Act
I watched that game 50 years ago. I, a real Raiders fans, was heartbroken when the Immaculate Reception happened. As a sports fan (and 1/2 Italian like Franco) accepted long ago what a truly great play it was. Thank you, Franco and RIP….
@@MaloPiloto Lee, what I also remember about this game is that it was the last playoff game of a great Quarterback, Daryl Lamonica, and when Coach Madden did the change, I remember the announcer saying how George Blanda could see great things in store for the Quarterback being brought in, Ken Stabler. Ken Stabler, late in the 4th Quarter of this game ran 30 yards for a touchdown, and the Raiders had the lead 7-6. Ken Stabler, became the starting Quarterback for the Oakland Raiders, and he was good. Yes, thank you Franco Harris, and even Terry Bradshaw, both of these men gave us some great games against the Raiders for years after this one.
@@TruthLivesNow Lamonica passed this year as well. I started watching football in elementary school only when I found out Franco was half Italian. He was something special. RIP Franco.
Never have I been a Steeler fan but I respected them for what they accomplished and how they carried themselves, you can keep your Patriot dynasty, your Cowboys, and your 49ers. Growing up as a Browns fan and still am to this day, the days of Sipe and Kosar are but distant memories. The Steelers of the 70’s are by far the best teams I have ever seen. Franco you will be missed not just by Steeler fans but also this Browns fan as well.
A Steeler fan who grew up in Shaker Hts in the 70's and will never forget the rivalry games that were like wars. The Browns gave the Steelers all they could handle and I dared not wear the Black.n Gold to school on a Monday after the Steelers won on a Sunday. I think all football fans need to know what type of class act Franco was and all he did for the city of Pitt. Franco will be greatly missed.
I’m in your boat as a lifelong Browns fan. I had a brother who was a huge Steelers fan and he’s gone now so I watched last nights game as a homage to his fandom. I am also old enough to have watched the Immaculate Reception live on tv in 1972. As we all know it happened on a Saturday afternoon. The controversy that ensued didn’t really set in until years later. It was a once in a lifetime play because we were not yet in the age of instant replay and having dozens of hi-def cameras capturing every play on the field of play. In many respects it really was miraculous because it defies a definitive conclusion/beyond a shadow of a doubt due to the instruments being used. Strike it up to the fog of war and how it gave rise to the creation of a legend. The cruel twist of fate that played out last week was Franco’s untimely death and how it robbed ALL football fans of a podium moment that was 50 years in the making. Thank you, things like this are bigger than the game we love. Seeing sports pages purposely avoid showing tribute to an nfl legend just because he’s a Steeler sickened me. We showed massive respect to Madden, as well as the ravens alumni they lost recently. The sport can be put to the side no matter the rivalry for a moment of respect.
That was amazing. I'm a lifelong Cowboys fan and the Steelers were our nemeses back then. But that got me choked up. Much respect to Franco Harris. Excellent tribute from Terry Bradshaw.

Well, my belief is that Mr. Harris never stopped living until his clock finally ran out. May God bless you and your family, Mr. Harris.

I was a live-and-die 8 year old, Texas-born Dallas Cowboy (and Houston Oiler) fan in ‘72. The Immaculate Reception was an interesting play, but…who were these “Steelers?” Of course, in the few years to come, I grew to HATE everything black and gold…even other black and gold teams, in any sport! But a funny thing eventually happened, Bradshaw retired. I knew pretty instantly that the greatest era of NFL football had all but ended. The rivalries of the ‘70s is what made that era special. With the departures of Bradshaw, Harris, Swan, Lambert, Greene, Blier, and company, the NFL, as I’d known it, had faded away. So I’m commenting now to say that, with the passing of Franco Harris (one of the most feared running backs in the NFL’s history), I now feel, more than ever, a brotherhood with all fans of the NFL’s greatest decade, including fans of the Steelers (the first team the Cowboys ever beat…in ‘61. Sorry, I had to say it! And I still don’t like the colors, btw. 😉 haha) RIP FRANCO HARRIS God bless y’all, Steeler nation!
