  • Irish premier Simon Harris has said that Ireland won’t “provide a loophole for anybody else’s migration challenges”.
He was speaking after UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak said claims that the UK’s Rwanda plan is causing an increase in migration to Ireland shows its deterrent effect is working.
The Irish Government has said there has been a shift in migration patterns into Ireland in recent months and that the number of migrants crossing from Northern Ireland was now “higher than 80%”.
Legislation is to be introduced next week in response to an Irish High Court ruling that Ireland’s designation of the UK as a “safe third country” for returning asylum seekers, in the context of the Rwanda plan, is contrary to EU law.

Its worse than that: he attacked 3 children and 2 women, seriously injuring all 5 - it turns out he was supposed to be deported (here illegally) 15 years ago but then an NGO intervened and he was granted a full Irish passport. He's been on benefits ever since. I believe it was the current Irish PM whose dept. granted the passport back then, possibly for a sizeable bribe. The Irish governemnt and media are doing everything they can to cover this and other murders and beheadings that have taken place in Ireland at the hands of "immigrants" from the Middle East.

Most Irish didn't want or ask for the immigrant crisis they now have. What do you do when you wake up in a small Irish community and suddenly find thousands of illegals dumped on your doorstep overnight and your Government basically tells you to take a running jump...... Ireland is literally now overrun with immigrants and this problem has been bad for years...

Many of these refugees entered the EU illegally, not all, and have been bounced from one jurisdiction to the next. Im guessing here, most will have arrived in Greece, and Italy both front line countries in the Mediterranean, and now many are at the end of the road, the last EU country , the furthest west they can go. The CTA these folks are taking advantage of, only applies to UK and Irish citizens, so the migrants are taking advantage of systems not designed or intended for such use. What Ireland needs to do , is a version of what Australia is doing. There are dozens of uninhibited islands off the Irish coasts. Build temporary housing to accommodate these ppl. Then interview them one by one. Establish who they are . Then , those that do not meet the criteria of international treaties Ireland has signed up to, need to be repatriated to those countries, or another country that will accept them. I can see the UKs position here, and also Ireland's. Maybe the UN can create a new territory somewhere in the world, where stateless ppl can go. No developed country can handle a big influx of refugees from failed states. The welfare systems aren't funded by magic, it's taxpayer contributions over decades. IMO, this has less to do with EU agreements and more to do with UN treaties, as these folk are not originating innthe EU.
