  • Italy’s prime minister has warned that Europe will be overwhelmed by migration unless the EU finds solutions.
    Italy currently receives the largest number of people smugglers, boats carrying asylum seekers and other migrants in to Europe.
    Many people then try to travel on to countries across the continent.

      @dondoodat I do not think that exists anything like healthy portion of fascism.. As a Czech, I know what I'm talking about (My homeland was invaded by nazis as the first and after we killed Heidrich, the second highest nazi, hell started here.).. But what is really missing in Europe is I think the healthy portion of nationalism, national proudness and pragmatic policy... Not in the way of Nazis, but something like the Danish immigration policy today which shown itself as a working solution with positive results.. I think the mistake is, that exists more debates with topic: "How the muslims feels in Europe" instead of: "How the Europe feels about their muslim temporary guests."

    • @dominiktomecek-i2m
      @dominiktomecek-i2m 10 месяцев назад

      @dondoodat
      Exactly, temporary guests... They came illegally and most of them are economic migrants. Go visit Africa or middle east (not Israel or Saudi or Emirates) and you will see the truth. To get behind European borders is winning for them all and not depends if is war in their country or not. Of course, war is horrible, but I refuse to be a worlds charity, because it will kill us.. I'm for the support poor countries, but only with money in that countries, because what is needed, is to establish working society there, so let's help with improving education, Infrastructure etc..
      And I do not agree with everything you stated..
      The key thing in Europe is competition between subjects, which accelerates the market. This was always the engine of Europe and when you still let the Schengen area and the free market in Europe (EU) to exist, that solves the problem. (Because of danger from Russia, Europe is united the most it has ever been) War in Europe is not good for anyone from Europe (EU), because it destroys business for everyone..
      Nationalism is selfish... Yes that's true and that's also how politics works and I do not think this is bad.. Every politician needs to fight for their country to get the best result and this is the competition. Nobody had invented better system. F. E. communism without competition failed.. Problem in this point is, that you expect, that people won't be selfish because you probably think you're not selfish or I don't know, but that's not how the human nature works and also the reason, why the capitalistic competition works, because it is natural for the people. So I think selfish is to expect something different and this behavior is very BAD in society I think.. It is very narcissistic to think like this and narcissism is the biggest illness of the people in the rich countries I think.
      And that nationalism blocks cooperation? I think this is not necessarily true. I don't know why it should be.. When two nations have same interests, what blocks the cooperation? I think most Europeans know, that we need to be able to compete China in the economic way and establish more independent Europe by the time, so the interests in Europe are not too different I think. It is only about the way how to chase it. I described only the pragmatic goals of course (and not all of them), because I do not support ideological suicide of Europe in any way (economic or security). I support ecology, but only in rational way and thanks to the EU for starting to realize this..

If he wants to study in the UK, use the legal student routes, as the original commenter mentioned. But either way, as a non-EU person he's gonna be paying extortionate university fees. It's already expensive for UK citizens. Places like Belgium are actually much more affordable for non-EU people. I have brief experience applying there. If you watch interviews at the US border you will see people say things like they are here to earn enough money to buy all their children new homes in their country, which is why they are claiming asylum. ROFL. Who can buy their children NEW homes? You can with the power of currency conversion.
      to get to the USA it typically costs them 20 THOUSAND US DOLLARS to travel there. That 20 thousand is worth probably 40-60 thousand in their home countries currency. Do you have 40-60 thousand dollars in cash to travel around the world? It is highly unlikely you are that well off.
      Housing is cheap where they live too because the cost of living is low, so they could have used that money to buy a house instead, and many of them DO already own homes in their home countries.
      They come to the USA, Canada, and Europe to get rich quick. Most "immigrants" later retire as highly wealthy people back in their home countries. They retire young and wealthy because even the lowest minimum wage in the USA is worth 3x more than their own currency. Add on to the rent savings, free healthcare, free food, and everything else, and they are making serious cash working in our countries.
      And these people don't have 1 or 2 children either. They have enough money in their home countries to have HUGE numbers of children.
      meanwhile native Europeans, Canadians, and USA citizens delay having children because we are taxed so heavily to pay for illegal immigrants and the lifestyles of people in other countries, and due to this, we cannot afford to have children.

The problem there is the young people do not want those kind of jobs because they have been raised in an education system that now virtually only focuses on either high end engineering design or general white collar careers and not much in between. Just like the U.K has been doing since the 90’s. The decline has nothing to do with lack of immigration. 125 million people on an island chain similar in size to the UK is not suffering from a lack of people especially as the retirement age in every country is increasing. They are suffering from a lack of money to pay all the pensions and a culture (like the West) that has made manual work seem something of the past.
      What needs correcting there is education system and career propaganda. Too many administration jobs, lawyers and accountants and not enough people to do the actual work. I knew once a few boats made it over safely that would be it. It gave implicit legitimacy and created a new route. When they sent pictures home of their hotel it was a perfect advertisement and word spread around. Why pay for a visa and have to sort out our own accommodation? When you can pay a few thousand euros throw away your passport and get free accommodation and meals. Paying the French to try and defend a 600 mile coastline is ridiculous. The numbers will simply increase exponentially. Australia is regarded as a democratic and upstanding country. Turning back the boats hasn't changed this. They still have a lot of immigration. I was shocked to learn that Germany was funding NGO's that are involved in transporting people from Tunisia to Italy, the German government seems to be part of the problem, they should be ashamed, especially as Merkel was largely responsible for starting the mess in the first place with her open invitation. What a bunch of idiots in the EU paying a corrupt government in Tunisia with our tax dollars to stop the boats and not having the guts to turn them back like Australia did, did they give a thought that the Government in Tunisia might be involved in pushing the migrants to Europe to extort money?

      Nigeria has an average fertility rate of 6 children per women. Their population is ~200 million now but by 2100 if you look at demographic projections, it’s expected to increase to 700 million (basically the population of all of Europe). How exactly is it possible to help Nigeria support this populace at a standard of living high enough that they won’t rather come to Europe? And that’s just Nigeria, in Niger it’s even worse, 7 kids per women. Africa has a population of 1 billion right now, it’s expected to explode to 4 billion by 2100. Meanwhile, Europe minus Russia is 600 million and since people are having less than 2 children (replacement levels) the population is shrinking, will likely be 300-500 million by 2100. So, 300 million people support 4 billion? All this is an extreme example, but just my way of showing you your suggestion isn’t long term viable. Europe will have to protect Europe, and not by absorbing migrants - 1 billion to 4 billion in population, there’s not going to be enough jobs, there will be hundreds of millions who will come to Europe if access is open to them. Europe can’t demographically take all that, not without demographically transforming itself and destroying its identity in the process. Not to mention the insane economic burden.

    Try to establish factories in Africa so they can have better work opportunities because not everyone is leaving because of death threats

      Only African people can fix their countries, only they can set up factories and other opportunities for their people.....interfering from foreigners, either for their own wealth building or actual sincere desire to help, ends very badly most of the time.

      I think (not an expert) that the reason why big businesses don't want to invest in Africa is the corruption.

      It needs it to reverse alot of the damage, hard line politics is whats needed from polotitions that do love and respect their heritage and not just because it gave their granny asylum 60 year ago, those have no love for the inhabitants or the country or its historical histories and culture.... FR is probably the only hope left!!!, dosnt mean to say its gonna be like third reich policies does it, vote reform or heritage... Enoughs enough now. Getting called FR all the time and racists bigot when you've never have been!!, sort of makes you into one??, those migrants who did arruve in the right way and have assimilated into the British way of life should get aboard on this to, after all its will eventually effect them to, by then its to late...

    I'm sorry but the world has gone crazy, I accidentally filled in the wrong forms after I came to the UK. I had the church and newspapers fighting for me as everything I told everybody was legitimate. On that day my husband couldn't come to be centre as he was working and would have lost his job. Due to a series of events I was sent back to South Africa with my four children, if I had been forcibly removed I would have not been able to come back for 10 years. I had to reapply from South Africa lost the £1,000 that I originally paid when I filled in our forms and had to pay again but it was the most wonderful day when we were granted us citizenship. A lot of heartache a lot of hard work a lot of cost and a lot of paperwork and I was married to somebody in the UK. I imagine it must be difficult for people in countries way things are not running the way that they should but to overwhelm other countries is totally illegal if the whole of Africa has to move over into Europe it will be another Africa I'm sorry to say it but it is true. All the bleeding hearts in the world have forced their opinions onto nations who have the right to protect their people but cannot use them because of stupid laws and human rights in inverted commas. The people who have worked hard both homes built businesses and live in these European countries will be overwhelmed and completely and utterly destroyed just like parts of the UK which are now completely taken over by immigrants and are a mess a disaster and have no value whatsoever. Exactly as in South Africa the hard-working taxpayers will be expected to support the millions of people who refuse to work who do not want to pay rates and taxes who do not want to pay electricity and water It will be the few supporting the many. We have to be real about the situation this is illegal and this is invasion.

    The Asylum rights need to be updated. It was made for people like Assange, not for economic migrants. Today, Assange does not get any protection, but Afghan Shepherd, which has no problem only seeks free money, gets protection.
