I feel like honeymoon got slept on bc it was the first album where she dug strictly into her dark crooner bag and the album was almost purely driven by real instruments (non digital) and was a much slower pace than what anyone was uses to. A lot of people were too young to really appreciate the sophistication of that album… but alot of those people have grown up to return to it for it to be one of their fav albums. There are tiers and eras to Lana fans. Theres pre NFR fans and post NFR fans. I feel like the pre NFR fans, the majority love that albums and the ones prior the most and the post NFR fans love that album and the ones that came after it the most. My fav Lana albums depends on what season I’m at in my life. Picking a fav album, to me, almost feels like a disservice…but if I were to have to pick one, I’d have to say honeymoon. It just encompasses everything I love most about Lana. It’s dark Disney/fantasy vybes lol, it’s sophisticated, it draws so much from the 40’s & 50’s symphonic crooner era, its goth romance, its dark deco, its chill trap on an orchestral level, her vocals are in some of her highest ranges, its serving deadly Snow White vybes, and the bridges of all the songs on that album could be their own songs in and of themselves. I have an instrumental version of that album I have downloaded and it’s just her background vocals and the instruments and it’s like a completely different album. But yeah. That’s just my take.
As for this this album, this was the most commercial of all her albums for the time, and it got a lot of hate for that, but I absolutely loved it. It’s simple in its arrangement as in it follows a predictable structure in its production, her hip hop influences are heavy in this and age bright bach a lot of elements of her BTD album… straight forward lyrics, and it was her turning point in life where she was taking her first steps away from toxic love into a real sense of what’s best for her. This album has really great features. I’d have to say my fav and the most meaningful song on it for me is Beautiful people beautiful problems”. I just love Stevie nicks so much so there’s a bias.

-Her authentic, wonderful, unique, beautiful cinematic music, very cinematic like her entire career, any song could be used as a movie soundtrack, that's one of the descriptions of her music.
-All her albums are authentic works of art by Lana Del Rey, with its cinematic element that are often in a different style than her first albums, such as her last 3 albums (Chemtrails/Blue Banisters/And Ocean), they are 3 very personal albums for those who want to know more about her, her life, her family(the people in her life), Honeymoon is one of the best and most cinematic albums by Lana Del Rey, a true cinematic work of art.
-The wonderful people who love true music,
love, appreciate and respect her album Honeymoon and all her authentic albums, as they deserve to be respected, such authentic art, and she is evolving and experimenting as the years go by.
-A true authentic artist, with her beautiful poetic writing, with her beautiful distinctive voice, her artistry, and the type of authentic human being/artist that Lana Del Rey is, is what separates her from the rest of the superficial and commercial music that exists today in the music industry today.

yooo lust for lifeee. ppl say this is her most uncohesive album, or that it's overproduced but i disagree i luv this album its so unique. Love is such a hopeful sweet song it brings me so much comfort, especially when lana is telling me to not worry. i luv her and asap's voices together, same w the weeknd. white mustang is a play on words that sounds like "why am i staying, ur why im staying". heroin is one of my top lana songs, so sad, but at the same time hopeful at the end. i luv when she yells like that in the bridge. In my feelings was written ab g eazy, he cheated on her (????) and so that song is a lil angry and vengeful, and i always like angry lana. get free imo is one of her best closers, also so so hopeful. in live performances she sings "for amy and for whitney, and all my birds of paradise", referring to some of her inspirations amy winehouse and whitney houston (she has their names tatted on her) as they're both artists who didn't get to live for long due to unfortunate issues, they r "birds of paradise," or icons in heaven. she says she wants to move "out of the black and into the blue", meaning she wants to positively change through growth. truly some of her best songs r on this album, loved ur reaction once again!!

If you want another album to react to that’s good for spooky season then you should check out Ethel Cain’s Preachers Daughter! Her sound is super similar to Lana, just with more of an American Horror theme (the album has a /very/ dark premise). It’s seriously so good, I cannot stress enough!!

There's not a deluxe version for this album, but, if you'd like, it'd be cool to react to "Looking for America" - it was released right after Lust for Life (if I'm not mistaken), and also sounds similar to LFL songs (not to mention the political statement throughout the lyrics too)

I loved this album when it came out, I would see about 30% of people say they don’t like it which is really odd to me maybe because like someone said in the comments it’s more “commercial like” but I loved every bit of it, I like that she’s always changing and it shows through her music, this album felt like a variety pack to me with some hip hop in it. The two songs that really stuck with me deep was the last two just because the subject touches on mental health. In change she talks about wanting to change of course but get free points out how she’s always been in a depressive state and she wants to move higher. Like the colors “out of the black into the blue”. It’s a very clever line because black portrays depression meanwhile blue portrays sadness which is better than being depressed(black). She uses colors to symbolize her emotions sometimes. It sounds like she’s talking about someone when she says “I never really noticed that I had to decide to play someone’s game or live my own life” and I love that line because she’s really talking about her mind messing with her and always taking control of her. my mind has always been my worst enemy always messing with me. But she taught me how you have the power to stand ur ground and overcome it. You have the free will to do what u want and not let it get to you!! It’s your life. So stop listening to it and just live your life.
Fun fact: her producer Rick Nowels stated ““Change” really touches me. We were mastering the album and had to turn it into the label the next day. Lana called me that afternoon and said that she had one more statement to make for the album and that she wanted to record a new song that night. That song turned out to be “Change”. We started it at 8 p.m. and by 2 a.m. the record was done. We knew it could only be a voice/piano song because that was all the time we had. I think it’s a gem on the album”
Also in the song “get free” she says “for blank and for blank” but in her first live performances when she first sang that song she originally sings “for amy and for Whitney” which are the two people Lana has always looked up to and admired. Amy Winehouse and Whitney Houston. She even has them tatted on her collar bone. I’m not sure if she still sings that part in her live performances but I think it’s really cute.

I agree the album takes a shift as soon as she mentioned Woodstock, it became more 70’s vibes featuring Stevie Nicks from Fleetwood Mac and then featuring Sean Ono Lennon which is the child of John Lennon from the Beatles and Yoko Ono and the cover art like you mentioned gives the hippie Woodstock vibe
