    As he's exiting the chicane at around 1:06, he loses the back end and steers into the slide to correct it, with mere feet to spare on that side. That's how you know F1 drivers are truly in a league of their own. Can you imagine steering TOWARDS a wall just a few feet away as you're accelerating through 120 km/h?

    I love watching on boards of Monaco. Shows the mental strength needed to race around the circuit at those speeds while going so close to the barriers.

      Although I agree that it’s amazing how close they get to the barriers in Monaco, he doesn’t get closer to the barriers than any other drivers. In Monaco this is not too special compared to other drivers.

      That's *still* him. He did really well at Renault but never fit at McLaren. People have really short memories.

    My favorite circuit. Requires absolute focus and precision. The drivers love it for a reason... Disappoints me that many fans disrespect Monaco. Racing is not just about constant overtaking.

      The first sector could have been a few millimeters better but the 2nd and 3rd were just perfect, truly amazing

    1:05 piscine in the pool section, that last chicane is usually the make or break spot. He nailed that right apex to setup the 2nd one part. Wow. One of the best behind Senna's "perfect" pole lap.

      Deplorable Citizen They were that wide up until the early 90s and overtaking did happen back then. But of course, it's much faster now so it's probably going to be realky difficult.

    Lap record is 1:14.439 set by Michael Schumacher in the 2004 Monaco Grand Prix (Ferrari).
    Best qualification time is 01:13.532 set by Kimi Raikkonen in 2006 (McLaren-Mercedes)

    He never should’ve left Red Bull. I know Max was and is their number 1, but so is Lewis for Merc but that didn’t stop Nico winning a title

      @@AdhiNarayananYR Surely it has to be that the machinery isn't comfortable for him to drive, this would also play with him mentally. You don't just forget how to drive, I'd say machinery and the mental aspect are what's causing Daniel to be in his slump at the moment.

      They are much smaller than current cars, around Monaco modern f1 turns into parade cause you can't even think about overtaking.Truth is people complain about sound while the biggest issue nowadays imo is the size. They need to downsize the cars further to make it more old school cool similar to the past. Especially if they want to retain Monaco in the calendar.

    No speedometer? Why F1? Amazing video but I wish you kept the speedo up, and it was great when you would put the g-force meter up as well. Please get someone to design a speedo, rpm, gear #, gforce interface for us fans to see

      I think so too. Perez can't qualify worth a d*mn and we all know that Ricciardo beat both 4-time champion Vettel at Red Bull in 2014 and 2-time champion Max Verstappen at Red Bull in 2016 and 2017. Ricciardo finished 3rd in the standings in 2014 and 2016 despite not having the best car. Perez finished 3rd in 2022 with the best car.
      The fact that the McLaren car didn't suit him (he is still the only driver to have won a race for McLaren these last 10 seasons) doesn't mean he's not a top driver.

      @@paulallen8109 Daniel needs a stable front end just like Max. I think Mclaren used Daniel to make Lando look like a super talent but Lando didnt really show it.
      They gave Daniel a nervous braking Lando style car.
      The Red Bull will suit him fine and Max will have more poles taken away from him. But this time for real and not with his teammate in the barriers.

    I was there for this race with 2 aussies who were screaming in happiness at this and then screaming the next day for the messed up pit stop. I watched from a balcony at 0:07 on the left hand side. Everyone need to go to Monaco at some point in their lives!
