EXCELENT EXPLICATION TO USES COMPARATIVE ADJECTIVES
Thank you! 😃
mi profesora me mando a ver el video like si a ti tambien

I understood that comparative adjectives are used to compare the differences between the two objects they modify (bigger, smaller, faster, taller). They are used in sentences where two nouns are compared, in this pattern:
Noun (subject) + verb + comparative adjective + that + noun (object).

In minute 2:30 you say that we have to add the word MORE to the adjectives EASY, LAZY, HAPPY AND FUNNY in order to make the comparative form = More easy, more lazy, more happy, more funny. I think that is incorrect, since the comparative forms are EASIER, LAZIER, HAPPIER AND FUNNIER. I was about to use this video in class, but I changed my mind.
Hello! Thank you for your comment.
As for “easier/more easy” question, it has been discussed here a lot. Of course, the form “more easy” is less popular than easier”, but it is not incorrect. Let’s take a look at some respectable media:
“What can be more easy money than a dowry?” (The New York Times) www.nytimes.com/2003/05/17/world/dowry-too-high-lose-bride-and-go-to-jail.html
“The video surveillance system management is more easy and intuitive” Physics Procedia www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S1875389212001605
And “the most easy” examples:
“That favours residents of Havana, where dollars are most easy to earn” (Economist) www.economist.com/the-americas/1999/10/21/mala-vista-social-club
So, with these real-life (not text book) examples, I am afraid it is wrong to say that this variant is considered incorrect. The same applies to LAZY, HAPPY AND FUNNY
I agree with you 100% I regret I showed this video to my students.

I made a test with the question "Find the correct phrase with the comparative or the superlative form of the adjectives", but the only grammatically correct phrase used "as adjective as", can this be considered a "comparative form of an adjective"?
Thank you! As for your question, are you asking if "as adjective as" should be considered comparative or superlative? Definitely comparative
@@nmodel thank you for replying quickly. I wanted to ask if "as adjective as" can be considered one form that a adjective can assume. Because it sounded weird the question, for me is a comparison of course, but I don't think is a specific / different form of an adjective
@@luizrenaudin1245 structurally, the adjective in this construction remains unchanged, obviously. However, from semantic perspective it's surely one way to compare things, so it's totally fine that it's included in the topic
@@nmodel thank you again for your replay :)

Yoset is tall, Víctor is short
Yoset is taller than Víctor
Víctor is a bit shorter than Yoset
Adjectives with one syllable have the suffix er
One syllable ending in consonant, short vowel, consonant (b,d,g,m,n,p,t) can get the last letter duplicated and getting added suffix er
One syllable ending in e, you don't have to add another e, just add -r when forming the comparative and -st when forming the superlative
One or more syllables ending in consonant, y, the i has to come and kick the y and to call the suffix er when it wants to have a comparative and the suffix est when it wants to have a superlative
Adjectives with two or more syllables can get the prefix more or the most
Irregular adjectives:
Good-better-the best
Bad-worse-the worst
Far-further/farther-the furthest/the farthest
Many-more-the most
Much-more-the most
Very-more-the most
Little-less-the least
I do really like how you explain this topics, Thanks paw!

Is the word ( Same ) comparative or superlatives ?
Neither. It is just a word. But it can be used in a structure to compare things, for example "it is the same as something else"
Bro is the type of guy who will start the battle between milk and cheese.

english.stackexchange.com/questions/171615/more-used-in-front-of-happy
And an article from The New York Post when they actually use "more happy"
nypost.com/2018/06/14/women-are-way-more-happy-when-theyre-drinking-white-wine/
@@nmodel Thank you. I didn't know.
'More happy' actually is not correct. But I guess in some publications, people use it on occasion in very special circumstances ( incorrectly, I believe). But it is awkward, poor English use. As a masters-level trained ESOL teacher (and editor) with many years of experience in several learning contexts, I would not teach people learning English to use 'more ______ than' for two-syllable adjectives ending in 'y'. (Happy, easy, lazy, etc.).
Thanks. Like si vienes de parte de la profe Mónica pelaez 😉😉🤗

What about adjectives of two syllables that accept the two forms of comparatives eg funny = funnier / more funny? This point should have been specified.
