A friend of mine during mandartory military training years ago was asked by the sergeant where he parked his truck. He replied he could not find it because of the camo. He had to spend an extra week in detention .

I have the purple baritone snakebyte, I'm only 5'6. The guitar is about as big as I am 😂
yeh im 5'10 with a white one. its a HUGE guitar, and it weighs a ton
I’m 6’1 and all of my guitars look tiny on me. I have one explorer and it’s slightly smaller than this one. I really want a full sized MX250 or snakebyte so it won’t look like I’m swallowing a guitar.
It is as big as regular explorer tho

its cool how the het set kinda brings out the mark 2 c+ to life even better than other emg pups. sounds super close to hetfields tone, always.
Honestly it sounded near identical to me, I was blown away by the intro.
I have an LTD Snakebyte in gloss black (discontinued I think). Definitely one of the best metal guitars I've ever owned. At first, I wasn't a big fan of the wavy shape, but then I realized James designed it that way to make it more comfortable while sitting down in classical position.
I had the same mate, just snagged the esp version in gloss black .....oh my

I have the Black one and it's a beast of a guitar! It's not heavy like you would think at all. If you're a MetallicA fan it's a must have it has that weapon type sound that James uses.

I've played a couple of these, and agree with Ola they are really well built. I don't mind the shape sitting, but man the price is tough to swallow on them. I think the camo goes for $1800 USD.
I've got a 2020 left-handed Snakebyte and not only is it a great guitar the ESP fitted case is as good as the case for my Gibson Explorer. I do prefer the Explorer over the Snakebyte but they are both great guitars.
Another aspect to most any Explorer-inspired shape guitar, there's a really significant change in position of the bridge to a symmetric guitar and I noticed you're playing it with the waist of the guitar on your left leg. Switch that over to your right leg and the plank will be out of your way, although the bridge might shift too far to the right for you then. I play Explorers almost exclusively as the shape puts the bridge in a place that works for me when I'm palm muting.
Ola, the first video I saw with you was the Seymour Duncan Black Winter video with you playing through a Randall almost a decade ago! I'm impressed year after year man! I'm glad there is more color being added to your artistry

I haven't gotten to try a Snakebyte myself but I played an Iron Cross on the day my wife decided she was going to marry me someday. Also, a dynamic active microphone likely means it requires phantom power for a gain boost or something.
I have the Iron Cross and the vulture and both are awesome. The V is another stand up guitar. The iron cross is just plain awesome

i have the LTD snakebyte in black and it is a great guitar i like to set the switch to middle and turn the neck pickup down a little to add a bit of thud to the sound

The high-end LTD sigs are great guitars. I own both a Custom Shop KH-2 and the KH-602 and while the KH-2 is superior as far as build quality, playability and tone, I would’ve been perfectly happy with the 602 had it been available when I bought my KH-2 in the late 90s.
Yeah, ESP had some serious issues with production/delivery of new models.
There are people out there, who ordered new 2022 LTD Deluxe models and still haven't gotten them.

That's my dream guitar other than hetfields diamond plate explorer from the early 2000's. I would sell my soul for that guitar. Hetfield is the reason I ever started playing guitar. I watched him in a hypnosis state of mind in my childhood. I remember being about 6 years old and seeing the explorer the way james wore it and played it he was like God lol. I'm not as fortunate as some people in the world to own any JH models but man I would die if I could own one. Thank you for the videos you make ola, you are seriously up there in the top 5 for me for influential guitar players, and I feel like you're family as much as i watch your channel lol. 🤘

I own this same guitar and love it! sounds and plays amazing and is a lot lighter then you would think to look at it. Just a great guitar and one of my favorites in my guitar collection.
This guy sells guitars. He test other manufacturers guitars and gear and rate it. If is good, bad or amazing he just say it. Ola you have my respect, over your guitar skills and amazing Solar guitars you are an honest man. That's the way to improve your guitars and production. I'm sure Solar will be one of the real big brands very soon

Wish they opened the Snakebyte up to non signature models, the shape is such a sick take on the explorer. I like it way better than their EX series shape. The signature models do look sick, but you just can't get a hold of them. I hope they open the Alexi V (or what they're transitioning into the "Hammett V") up to non signature aswell, it might just rival the classic Jackson RR.
High end LTD's are great guitars.

Man, I tried so hard to get a good Snakebyte. The white one, before this came out.
Ended up buying 3, from several UK retailers a few years ago and all were plagued with horrible horrible QC issues from cracking in the finish to holes, toolmarks and tears out of the fretboard to a neck set in at a slant.. After my fourth return I gave up! Even contacted the UK distributor who promised to select a good one, but after that they ghosted me lol.. sucks, I really wanted one. Still got all the pictures of the defects.. such a shame as Esp/Ltd are my favourite.
I ended up getting an Ltd Phoenix but it’s not the same! Maybe one day I’ll try again. I just have the worst luck with guitar buying, and as you say they are constantly out of stock everywhere!
You should have a solar x guitar in a camo colour like this but a little different so it doesn’t piss off any copyright laws , if it would even matter . I have no idea but I do know I would buy a solar camo X in an heart beat with a standard bridge, not a Floyd or evertune though.
Every topic you don't like, it's about what James never needs to think about. That means it's a true Hetfield model. 😅 Amazing tone!

Maybe its just the way each guitar player sits and holds the guitar because i dont feel the awkwardness that Ola was but i definitely feel its a stand up and play guitar, also as a rhythm guitar player i dont travel up the neck much beyond the 17th fret but again thats just me. It's an awesome guitar, i think, as well.

The ESP version has the contour on the body. Unfortunately they didn’t do it to the cheaper model as I would have love this as well. Either way, the finish and Kuiu camo is awesome!
I also think it's a shame they didn't do the Camo print on the back, but I guess they have to save costs somewhere.

I have an 85 EMG pickup that has good heavy tunes for thrash assault and is good for solos too! explorer style is much for standing!

I wish ESP could make the original MX 220 and 250 models available in Europe. Even an LTD standard version would be awesome
They are still available through the custom shop order form. Just very pricey.
I got a brand new MX250 from a shop in Paris a few years ago. Sometimes they do have one but it sells quickly... Drop them an email! (Guitars Rebellion)

i have an early 90s that i could sell, but it is not a cheap one...
I understand that Gibson sued them over that shape, but its their fault that they cant make them as good as ESP.

I have a Kirk Hammett guitar and low level les Paul and Ibanez. So I have decent ones. But I like that sound mine sound nothing like that chug chug

Awesome but my favorite shape of guitar is V from ... Solear, best looking guitar on market, plays also VERY VERY well ;D in begining of the year went to music shop 200 km away from my home village and tested esp ltd black metal arrow.... and meh... on fotos looks amazing... but Solar V is more comfortable while standing... ok enough of sugar, cant wait for next videos ;D
I like the explorer for its armrest, it is comfortable to play while sitting. Maybe it's a matter of time to get used to it.

Great review Ola! I purchased this guitar after your unboxing video got me too pumped up about it. BUT.. after receiving it and playing it, i decided i didn't like the weight and probably most bothered by not being able to play it that comfortably sitting down! I ended up returning it and paying return shipping. I think it was the right choice though. I'm glad you seem to concur. CHEERS!
